One thing to notice here is that, Spidey always swings with his legs down while in crowded areas to avoid any collision. But the black suit is immediately aggressive and ambitious and that swing kick could have easily shredded any person.
That is such a subtle observation dude, wow.
Watching movies makes it difficult to realize that dozens of people spend hours on each minute of a scene, especially with CGI where the movements are handcrafted. I wonder what else we can notice if we watch it with that intent.

Peter's swinging scenes in this trilogy are always a joy to watch, because you can really feel how deeply he enjoys the physical freedom that his powers grant him. He's been Spiderman for years at this point, and he's still whooping with joy as he twists through the air.

The scariest thing is that the symbiote dragged his unconscious body through new york and stayed on the side of a skyscraper with his reflection
A similar scenario occurred in Spectacular Spider-Man. In one episode, the symbiote suit latched onto Peter's unconscious body and took him to Central Park to fight the Sinister Six. And while Peter was asleep, the symbiote used his body and abilities to take down each and every one of them. It was like Peter wasn't wearing the suit but the suit was wearing his body.

To be honest, if we’re talking about the symbiote only and not Venom himself, it DID fit into the movie very well. It’s like Evil crawls closer and closer to Peter throughout the trilogy, only directly affecting the villains rather than him, until it finally takes the form of the symbiote and infects him as well. If the lowest point Peter could reach before was “just” apathy and inaction in the face of evil, now it has become the concrete possibility of he himself becoming a monster. This has been foreshadowed as his ultimate struggle since the beginning, since he let out a glimpse of his inner demon that night at the arena, and by doing that caused Ben’s death.

Agreed. Eddie getting the symbiote and becoming Venom should’ve been at the end of the movie with him being the villain in Spider-Man 4. But I understand a cliffhanger in these kinds of movies might not worked too well and Sony wanted Venom in SM3 no matter what.
Precisely. The true villain of SM3 was Peter himself and that was executed brilliantly with the symbiote bringing out his worst qualities. Everything that went wrong in SM3 was due to his own ego and lack of empathy/forgiveness for others. The villains were just extensions of decisions he had made.
Well said, and SM3 is where Peter is at his peak, Spider-Man is loved by everyone (well mostly) and has balanced his life as Peter, he has a girlfriend and is at the top of his class. He's also full of pride and only thinks of himself, MJ is failing as an actress and Peter keeps bringing up him as Spider-Man, he's so full of himself in this film and it is most evident in the key to the city scene and the dinner scene with MJ.

Up to this point being Spider-Man has been nothing but an obligation for Peter but here he's FINALLY getting the respect he feels he deserves and to someone whose been put down most of his life, it has caused his ego to fully manifest itself and he is drunk on it, so self-absorbed that he ignores that MJ's life is falling apart and when she needed Peter the most, he was either inattentive or not there. The symbiote just magnified that ego and that sense of being owed tens times over.
Venom, New Goblin, and Sandman may have been the villains, but it was Peter's actions that created them more so for Venom and New Goblin than Sandman.
Peter was the real villain here. Bully Maguire didn't emerge out of nowhere.

I think Christopher young did Spider-Man 3 but Danny Elfman composed the music for the first two movies.
Danny Elfman did 1+2 and they used some of his music for 3 but Christopher Young did this piece entirely and he does an amazing job.

This scene is just genius. Peter is having nightmares about Uncle Ben where he's sad, terrified, scared. In the moment Venom touches him, audiece see that he immediately starts having more violent and angry dreams.. The way Venom changes Peter is amazing and, in my opinion, extremely underrated.

The music at 1:14 is amazing. The violins in the background give a sense of urgency, like saying "STOP Take it off, you don't know what this is!" But the booming brass is almost overshadowing the violins, the brass gives a more uncertain but surprised sound, like saying "This thing isn't hurting me, now that i think about it, its not that bad" Then the Trumpets near the end before he jumps off of the building give that confirmation to him that everything is okay, like the suit telling him to trust it. Then by the end you basically cannot hear the violin as he has fallen into the control of the simbyote. GAH so incredible!

I like how in the beginning because he doesn’t reject the symbiote he’s able to pull of his mask just like normal. Then during the bell tower scene he literally has to tear the symbiote off of himself

@M1N3CR4FT3R Yes. The symbiote feeds on Peter's emotions and mental psyche. In the bell tower scene, it knew that Peter intended to remove the suit for good and it could not allow that. Not because it needs to be attached to him 24/7. (We've seen him remove it throughout the movie.) But because the Peter's superhuman abilities made him a very desireable host for the symbiote which, in turn, made the symbiote powerful too. If the symbiote attached to a regular human, it would not be anywhere near as strong as the one in this movie was. That's also why Venom looks like Spiderman. The Symbiote loved Spiderman as a host so much that it made Eddie Brock in Spiderman's image, thus Venom is born.

Well it's not Raimi's fault. The producers pushed him to include the Venom story arc even though the movie had 2 villains already, so the 3rd arc feels too crowded and rushed on the whole "Eddie/Venom hate Peter/Spiderman so they bond perfectly". They should've used this to set up a 4th installment where Venom would be the main villain. Also Topper Grace is not the best casting.

It’s ironic how what many viewed as the worst entry of the trilogy ended up becoming the most iconic. Honestly it gets better every year, especially when you compare it to the sub-par Spiderman live actions we’ve been getting of recent. This movie truly aged like fine wine and will continue to do so.
The reason it was hated when it came out is because it IS messy and it also came after Spider-Man 2 (which is still considered to be one of the best comic book films ever made). I think most people could watch it now and be entertained by it.

@@godalien3223 Yep. In Spectacular Spiderman, when Peter tricks symbiote by saying "take me back" symbiote actually believes him. It leaves Eddie and bonds with Peter again.

It was only after Venom was making Peter do bad things and trying to turn him into a supervillain that Spider-Man rejected the symbiote.
I watched this movie in theaters on my third birthday, surprisingly I remember the entire memory. This movie has always been my favorite live action spiderman movie and the theme for the black suit sends chills down my spine every time I hear it

All the pieces work, just not together. There are two or three solid movies buried in here.
Derek Connors hell, just making the movie into two parts, one for sandman and Green Goblin as the main villain, then make the Venom scen as the cliffhanger, then make Venom the sole focused Villian next time. Maybe even make Harry's death to Peter's hand the trigger for him to relinquish the symbiote.

Best looking Spider-man suit. Wanted it as a kid, want it as an adult, it just looks so clean.
1:06 you can see his spider sense react to it but the symbyiote immediately turns it off
Many years later only just noticed , Peter is so hooked on how good it is, he actually doesn’t notice that his mask is harder to pull of than usual and there’s even a feint like popping sound when it finally does

No,You've kinda got it wrong.When peter took off his mask venom didnt resist in this scene because it knew peter was gonna put it back on.But peter struggled with taking off the mask at the bell scene because it knew peter was trying to get rid of it for good.

At that point of time Nolan's Batman had just begun ,and people wanted something like Batman Begins in superhero movies, it continued till Dark knight rises until Marvel came back and reintroduced superhero movies with humour and entertainment.

It's just a black version kf the original suit.
While it's basically a recolor, I love it.
Even though I wish they made it evolve like in Spectacular Spider-Man.
Starts as a recolor of the original red and blue suit, but the more corrupted Peter becomes, the suit's lines start fading away, and the spider symbol get's bigger, esentially becoming a comic accurate suit

I remember that day very well. I was 6 years old. Mom picked me up from Baseball practice with my Spidey suit, I put it on, then we headed to our local movie theater and I had a blast!!

Sony should properly handle Venom and possibly in future explore this Spiderman storyline fighting his inner demons ofc staring Andrew Garfield .

The critics were wrong about this movie
Most of the critics were Venom fanboys, or 70 year old decrepit men. This movie is flawed and Raimi went overboard on the corniness in a few scenes. But overall it's a very emotional film and has more heart and soul than any other Spidey movie, including SM2.
