This video motivated me 6 months ago to buy a pair of rings and get started, and I haven't looked back since. This is the longest I have stayed consistently working out, I gained 10+ pounds in these months, most of them muscle, and I'm still having as much fun as on day one. Thanks, muchacho đđȘđż
Congrats
did the same, but 15 mins ago.
@@brq838 lol this videoâs example of your first time in the dip support hold is bang on. Just started with them and itâs hilarious how shaky it is
dude, iâm so expecting me looking like i have a seizure or something. should have started way earlier.
Cool, Ill try it too!
Did my first ring workout yesterday. It's extremely humbling. I thought I had decent strength but the rings are totally different. Today, my armpits are sore. I had no idea I had armpit muscles to even get sore.
This gave me a good laugh lol
haha
You might need a stronger deodorant
Are you still doing them?
His armspita Hurt to much to respond
Nujabes as a soundtrack? Here a thumbs up. ;)
Edit: wow I never had that many likes before lol. RIP Nujabes gonna listen to your songs now

rip nujabes
Had the same thought :)

Aint that nujabes st especially from samurai champloo?
I am an instructor for Brazilian jiu-jitsu and I was looking for good videos to have some of my teenage students to start watching so they can learn how to do the rings. I am definitely going to send them to this video thank you.
I glad you found this video valuable enough to share it. Thank you muchacho
Just took delivery of my first pair of rings today. I cannot wait to publicly humiliate myself in one of Brooklyn's many playgrounds for months to come.
How's it been going for you?
@@alansmilealot lol I stopped. It got super cold out here so I can't do it outdoors anymore plus I have no place to set them up inside. I had to regress slightly but I'll get back on it. Thanks for checking in!
@@mosiarmstrong get a dip station or bars for the time being. I bought a set on Amazon for $30 and I use a weighted vest with it for alot of my stuff. I can do pushups, rows, dips, pullups (back on floor), and some more things. Did the rings do much for you in terms of building muscle?
@@alansmilealot hey thanks for the advice there. I have a pair of Liberator dip bars (I think that's what they're called) from Frank Medrano. As far as building muscle. I don't think I used them long enough and consistently enough to assess that objectively. I can say this though: doing regular pushups and dips did become easier after I used the rings, so I guess I did get stronger, even if I didn't physically get bigger.
@@mosiarmstrong hey bro, ik I'm a bit late, but I was wondering if you could help me, do most gym rings work on trees, like hang low enough?
Just started trying ring workouts. Never felt so weak.

During quarantine I invested in a pair of gymnastic ring's and I'm very proud I did as it could be one of my best purchases I've ever made. I find it amazing for upper body development due to the versatility and the difficulty of the exercises. Not only have I seen noticeable improvements in my physique but it's also strengthened my joint's and tendons so I feel much less vulnerable to injury. I'm thinking of sticking with calisthenics for the foreseeable future and may get a weighted vest so I can still get the same benefit from weight training. It seems to be the way forward for health and longevity.
I did the same! Can't wait for them to arrive!
How many years of regular gym have you lived?
@@saicopath1 around 4 years. Started 16 I'm 20 now. Only 2 1/2 of those years were productive though with good nutrition and programming
It also feels and looks cool AF doing ring work
Fuck yeah. Im done with pumping iron. This is the way!
I love the way you speak, very clear, natural teaching voice. Great visual demonstrations too. Awesome video!
Agreed! And very relatable to the muchachos.
I feel the same thing for him and Chris Heria
The best intro to rings on the Tube.
Thanks muchacho

Haha I used to think that ring dips are like regular dips. That was until I bought myself a pair of rings and jumped onto ring dip position. The demo that you did for people using rings at the start is spot on đđ
Same here. When I tried ring dips for the first time it looked like I had epilepsy.
Literally just had this humbling experience.

Just want to throw it out there for folks that want to make a full body workout from this, just simply add some squats. Start with a standard squat, and progress to single leg squats. You can also use the rings to assist you on the squats. Great video, I will be checking out your channel.
Postal squats are my humble flex whenever a coworker asks my 125 pound ass how I move are 140 pound packages by myself relatively easily đ Iâve yet to find a co worker who can also do pistol squats

Perfect. Just started working out on rings for the first time. Went straight to dips, thought it will be easy, but my arms were shaking like a jelly... this will help
You got this muchacho. You'll be busting out full range of motion dips in no time đȘđŒ
Decided yesterday that I was gonna buy a pair of rings, and then this comes out the next day! Super helpful man, thank you! đȘđ

I did gymnastics for while when I was younger, the rings were always my favorite, excited to get back !
Really wish I found your channel sooner. One of the best calisthenics channels that I've come across. Been stuck with the rings for a while, not knowing where to begin. Now I have something to work on, all thanks to you.
Just ordered a pair.. Iâm thrilled and anxious at the same time. I hope to be worthy! Iâm glad I count on you as a teacher!
Loved the video, absolutely perfect. I love the rings, especially now with lockdown, all the gyms are closed, what a simple basic tool and you get to do so much with it. Efficiency at its finest.
Thanks so much. Clear, concise, well edited. Plus one subscriber.
Lad, just got my rings from Amazon today and already tried to implement them in my workout. That was challenging, but I had a lot of fun, really rejoicing after the training. Thanks for your vids and godspeed from Russia.
Tao deserves so many more followers and credit. Honestly your tutorials and videos are top class. I got my first pull-up because of you and bought some rings today. As a female new to calisthenics, I am learning so much and thanks a million over.
What I love about the rings is that you can scale the difficulty up or down just by changing your foot position and/or the ring position . Great video!!!
Thanks for this bro! Just bought rings since can't go to the gym because of the quarantine. Going to start out with this routine. More power to you!
As a beginner on their Rings who just bought a pair of rings a week ago, this is extremely helpful. Great job for us beginners! Very easy to follow and memorize.
LOVE this video! The music, the scenery, editing and of course, your teaching. Well done!
Really glad I came across your channel, really great instructional detail on each of the movements/techniques.
Iâll be watching this over and over just to keep on making sure Iâm getting each one right.
Just received my Rings today. So happy I found your video. I'm currently at the baby dip support level. Looking forward to getting stronger. Thank you!!
Love this guy! Laid back, easy to listen to and good instruction. Wish I lived where he lives, looks nice.
Great video @TaoPhysique ! I started my calisthenics journey several weeks ago but put the rings to one side because full dips were too tough for me. Now that I have seen this video I will be adding rings to my training regime from tomorrow đȘ đ
GREAT INFO!!! . Thank you! â€ïžđđ Mucho gracias!
This is a really nice, straightforward and detailed explanation of how to begin but also intensify. Saving this one. The rings are awesome and offer a really complete bodyweight workout. Nice job!
Most useful ring workouts ever seen for beginners. Thanks bro
Did my first ring workout to this one. Great job man!
Ordered a pair of gymnastic rings after watching your videos and did my first ring workout today. It kicked my ass all the way to Andromeda and back. This ain't no joke, rings will murder your ego.

Great instructions tao for beginners. Thank you, subscribed
Great video. I just got my own pair of rings and this video is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Good video mate. Beginners videos are very important. We must start somewhere. Thank you for the effort.
These are basic exercises, but I wouldn't necessarily equate the word "basic" with "beginner." As Tao demonstrated, the level of difficulty can be adjusted based on how horizontal the body is at the starting position. These are exercises for both the novice as well as for those with lots of experience.
Honestly man, such a great video! :) I learned a lot from this and I have started calisthenics around one month ago, my rings are coming in next Tuesday and I canât be more excited! Iâm really looking forward to improving myself from now on.
Thank you for these progressions. I needed this today. Did my 1st rings 2 days ago and still lots of muscle aches. Awesome muchaco!
Thank you so much! I am 33 and a new dad and wanted to try something new...these things were humbling and fun and I have weight trained for 12 years.

Great video. thanks for breaking everything down so clearly. I just bought some rings yesterday and am aiming at being able to to 10 ring muscle ups by the end of 3 months. I will work at getting these fundamentals down first. All the best.
I started calisthenics 4 months ago. Loved your videos. Because of you Ive bought the same rings in Argentina thus week. 60 dollars. I love them. I can alternate exec with bars and rings. Keep it up. Love your vids man. Thank you. Keep doing this.
I've never seen those supported dips done that way before. What a great progression option!!!!!!
Love the 101 Video format man, thanks for sharing . Quality content
Tao, I just want to say thank you and some more.
I just got my brand new 1.1 inch rings (I noticed that there were different sized so I looked it up and turns out that's what the real olympic athletes use because it's the international gymnastics standard apparently) home today that I ordered from Amazon and I was doing the movements you showed in the air just pretending to train that muscle memory.
I wrote down a whole page of notes for the workout summary with little comments and notes on the things you mentioned in the video like how to progress everything for maximum improvement in the shortest possible time.
I'm going to stick to 2-3 to start off with and possibly, even more, depending on how my body feels.
For anyone else reading this looking to do this (calisthenics a.k.a. body weight training) I'm gonna share some stuff I've learned now so that you don't have to waste time looking it up yourself.
First of all, before anything else, nothing of this matters at all if you hurt yourself during exercise.
So you wanna do the right thing and always look up how to warm up properly before doing any kind of physical strain on your body or you WILL end up like everyone else who didn't warm up before that workout that they'll never forget.
They didn't warm up every single work out and ended up tearing something like a bicep that will look horrible (warning don't google it if you're easily discouraged from working out.
Not warming up WILL permanently hurt you for the rest of your life.
Now I haven't hurt myself thank goodness but I have mad respect for the people who have basically sacrificed themselves to teach us what we can be wise to learn from them.
SO WARM UP. And if you don't know how to warm up, Google/CZcams search it UNTIL YOU DO.
That's all buddy's out there. Take care guys and girls.
Also by the way, shameless plug here: I recommend you get into music of some kind, it's like working out the brain. I make music and post it + it's really fun.
Thanks for this! Just got a set of rings for my kids but I will be starting with your beginner plan myself.
thanks for the beginner set. just started the rings... great to start with this! keep up the nice video's
