Eating KOREAN Fried Chicken (KFC) + Korean Beer and Soju | Seoul, South Korea

- My first full day in South Korea continued in the capital of Seoul, where my boy Sam (from Samuel & Audrey) and I visited the National Museum of Korea and had some delicious Korean fried chicken with beer afterward! Come join us on our latest adventure in Seoul!
Our museum visit was an interactive experience! We started on the third level at the Asian Arts, Sculptures, and Crafts area. The museum is massive, with a big, open space in the middle. We saw some beautiful Celadon ceramics that date back 1,000 years to the 12th and 13th centuries.
They have a distinct bluish-green color. There were sculptures of dragons and dogs and even plates. These ceramics are perfectly made, unlike most of the ones made today, which are usually thrown away because of imperfections.
We also saw a beautiful Bodhisattva statue that dates back to the 3 Kingdoms period. Two are cycled in and out to protect them. It’s meant to bring about peace in the people who observe it. There’s a wall display that shows the differences between carved Buddhas in India, China, Korea, and Japan. It was so interesting to see the distinct differences!
There was also a huge, colorful scroll of the Buddha, and an exhibit about the Joseon Period, the last period before the Japanese occupation. The architecture changed due to the move from Buddhism to Confucianism. We also saw an amazing, 10-story pagoda that dates back to 1348!
I was loving this museum! One of the coolest rooms was a hall containing statues of Arhats, Buddhist figures who have reached enlightenment. The statues were incredible!
Next, we headed to a more interactive area where we carved seals, which date back 4,000 years and represent different social classes. I was able to carve my name into the stone with some help from my friend. You have to dig deep with the tool to get a good stamp. My friend helped clean it up a bit to look more antique, made a stamp, and wrote a letter to my wife!
Then, it was time to go eat at Oven Chicken and Beer. We started with Cass, which is a light, Korean draft beer. Food-wise, we started with a chicken salad. It was almost like a refreshing Casesar salad!
Then it was time for the chicken! We got two types of Korean fried chicken: regular and glazed. They were served with some small, crispy fries. I started with a wing of the regular chicken, which was the freshest chicken I’d ever had in my life! It tasted so organic! It blew my mind! I couldn’t get enough of it! It had the right amount of grease and was unbelievable!
Then I grabbed the glazed chicken, which was almost like Chinese sweet and sour chicken. It was sweet and a little spicy. I was in heaven! This one was even better than the first one! Best fried chicken of my life!
Then we got some soy sauce chicken, which looked richer with a brown sauce. The flavor was crazy good and so prominent!
Next, we were served some honey soju, which was sweeter! It was like a mix of sake and beer! We followed that with a shot of soju with a bit of beer. It reminded me of a potato vodka! Then I tried soju on its own. It’s lighter than vodka at only 20% alcohol! It makes you feel good without getting drunk!
I hope you enjoyed coming with me on my National Museum and Korean fried chicken adventure! If you did, please give it a thumbs up and leave me a comment. Also, please subscribe so you don’t miss any of my upcoming travel/food videos!

I found the Korean and Japanese are really nice, they provided 4 languages which are English Korean Japanese and Chinese while Beijing didn't provide those options
Is that Rising Sun Flag on your arms?
which represents Japanese imperialism back in the days... many people are ignorant about the rising sun symbol unlike the Nazi symbol.
Oh shit i am hungry
👏👍😋
David is 007 james bond.
Seriously best fried chicken you never had in your life...? I cannot believe you have visited so many places and so many countries...Was this your best fried chicken or one among the best? Plz clarity 😉😀
Gao Kai the freshest, the best!
@@Davidsbeenhere Thanks Dave for your prompt response..i was delighted by seeing your response...Grear going buddy...I wish you all the best for your Seoul travel journey...you are a truly different CZcamsr if I compare with other CZcamsrs :)
Korean friend chicken is one of the best in the world, far better than what is served by KFC. The batter for Korean friend chicken is made by mixing different types of starches which makes it crispier, lighter and less greasy.
Can you put in the description the equipment you use to record.
Boxing Parody Panasonic GH5

손목에 일본 전범기 문신 했네
Sorry but..the tattoo on your right arm is quite similar to rising sun flag a symbol of japanese imperialism. Historically korea was colonized by japan and uncomfortable for koreans.
Can we not be so sensitive to a pattern that's similar to rising sun flag? Japanese rising sun flag wasn't the original nor does it have an exclusive trade mark on that pattern. So unless it's actually the Japanese Rising sun flag, I think people need to chill and stop trying to ban such patterns altogether or lecture foreigners just because it looks similar.
Nazi flag is reverse of Buddhist symbol. Should people flip out or ban the symbol even if it's not in the context of Nazi?
@@Xentradi97 I understand what you said, BUT you have to keep reminding that the yet unsolved historical problems and deep pain of the war and imperialism is still remaining in Koreans. Japan keeps showing rude actions to Korea without apologize and attitudes of reflection. Nobody can say It's light problem. As you know, if there's someone painful, then we shold stop that bad thing.
And Nazi and Buddhist symbols are really different problem. They have certainly different meaning from each other, But Rising sun symbol with red stripes doesn't, and People recognize it as Japanese flag. Can't you feel the difference?
@@gommie000 Listen I have no issue of Koreans feeling pain regarding the flag and feel offended by it so it gets banned in Korea. But if you try to ban any pattern remotely similar or get offended when foreigners who do not share the same belief about the flag or the pattern and decide to attack that person, you've gone way out of line. Can't you see that?
How is Nazi and Buddhist symbol different? One goes clockwise and the other counter clockwise. If you're offended by any type of sun-burst design, surely you can see that Buddhist symbol should feel offensive to the Jews, Europeans, gypsies etc... who were victims of Nazi's.
Sunburst design itself isn't Japanese war flag which adopted its pattern.
@@Xentradi97 First, I want to apologize if my tone was way too strong. And I am also feel bad when I see Buddhist symbol because it make remind Nazi, regardless of whether its meaning is related or not. But why I said it's different is that Buddhist have existed since B.C. and Nazi didn't. And additionally their meaning is also very different. There'll be no one who think that Nazi was motivated by Buddhist. But about the Japanese Imperialism symbol, as it's too ambiguous to judge the exact form of the symbol (because they have been used in so many ways), there is so many ways to be interpreted as Japan Imperialism the other way around. I am Korean, but I also thought many times like you that some materials having similar lines and colors are way far to interpret that as THE symbol. But one of the most important reason that Koreans are really sensitive about the symbol is the fact that Japan still want to use it as their mascot. Even On March 3th, the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee said, "There is no reason to stop the Rising Sun flag because it is widely used in Japan and itself has no political meaning. Therefore, it is not considered a forbidden item."
I hope that if you have right empathy with the victims of Nazi, you can also empathize how Koreans seriously feel about this statement and whole related issue. And It's my ask for a favor to do so.
Anyway, Thanks to read all this long comment.
(I'm not English speaker so please understand that I keep deleting and modifying my comment.)
@@gommie000 Like I said, no issue with Korea banning the Japanese imperial flag and feel offended by it. Japan should also acknowledge it rather than continue stand off with Korea and China. But as I said, to get offended over SunBurst pattern and not the flag it self is over-reaction.
Same goes for criticizing foreigners who are not Korean or Japanese or Chinese who are not aware of Sun Burst or Japanse war flag and wear them outside of Korea. The way Korean netizens attacked Sean Lenon and his girlfriend and his mother was a disgrace.
You may explain and ask them not to wear the flag but how the person responds to that and choose to do, outside of Korea is entirely up to them. Korean netizens had no right to attack Sean Lenon and his mother and ancestry. That's racism and going a step too far.
하 씨발....오른팔에 전범기문신 실화냐?!
I know, I'm an interfering b*st*rd...but Hoegaarden beer is Belgian, not German :-)
Keith Anderson Jajaja thanks for clarifying that! I will remember for the future 😉
You know, you could do a great series travelling around Belgium! It's really a tiny little country, but with people in one part speaking French, in another part Dutch/Flemish, and with a considerable German-speaking minority too. And, of course, the cusine varies between one part of the country and another....but what unites all of them is perhaps chips (fries) - probably the best in the world! The Belgians claim that they (not the French) invented them. Lovely cities - Bruges (Dutch/Flemish - Brugge), Ghent (Dutch/Flemish - Gent), Antwerp (Flemish/Dutch Antwerpen, French Anvers), the beauties of the mountainous Ardennes.....go for it!!
Dude thank you for this! I am going there in 2020 🤭
Aha! Have fun - try the "Croquettes Crevettes" (shrimp croquettes) on the Belgian coast - they really are Melt-in-Your-Mouth excellence! Then there's carbonnades flamandes/stoofvlees - beef cooked in Belgian beer...and so much more! By the way, if your trip in 2020 extends to Germany and you happen to visit Berlin........just to let you know, until I retired a few years ago, I was a qualified tourist guide here and I'd be delighted to show you some of the sights both on and off the beaten track.
