Street tuner did a article on this car where you can actually see the ZC engine.Mugen ,spoon ,toda they all played around with the ZC engine in the early days.Look it up !
yep.. the car is actually a E-AT 1985 driving in the jtcc, it was very limited and under strict regulation for the modification... the engine is a honda ZC 1.6L DOHC non vtec engine, an engine that did had quite a long stroke and low compression but still made 230hp at 9800 rpm.... quite amazing hey for an old wonder civic of the mid '80's, it was the terror of the corollas ae86 with their 4AGE... for more info I remember a superstreet magazine article showing some info about the car..
@MetricHotrodsdotcom oh and by the way if you think a 230hp, 730kg car can't lap.... do look for the ss-work EF7 CRX... look for something called the battle at 10,000 rpm by Best Motoring
@Jimster481 go see superstreet magazine online... and make a little a search they had an article about that car when they visited type one, Spoon Factory, they had the spec from there
but seriously, I've seen what can be done with the LS and I done it myself, it's not the ZC but it do give a good idea of what can be achieve with dohc non-vtec, and since we do not have any infos on the internals and mapping I tend to believe that it is possible for a big budget race team, fuck, I know that those numbers are incredibly high since I hardly got shy of 200 just to see the engine get worn out so fast, but hey I do not diss everything I read...
It's not E-A, it's an E-AT, or AT chassis. An 84-85 Accord is an E-AC or E-AD, and a Prelude is E-AB. Most of the time you just leave of the E on the older models.
@zxloulou you're high if you think that motor makes anywhere near 230hp. that car weighs about 1900lbs w/ driver. imagine what it would look like coming out of the corners with 230hp. it would look like a wild banshee being hurded off a cliff against it's will.
damn i have an ef... but EA seem to be more fun looking in my opinion... they just handle so bad ass... i would have them illegal if i was the president haha... basicall go karts... i totally want one now... fucking nice... ugly hatch though... i would fix that haha
@MetricHotrodsdotcom like he said OEM SPEC of something near 130 hp.... JTCC GROUP N (wich is something like super touring) '' The Spoon racing E-AT boasts 230hp at 9800rpm where the stock E-AT Civic Si with the ZC gets 130hp at 6,800rpm.'' my source come from superstreetmagazineonline, after they visited type one, the spoon factory, From the June, 2009 issue of Super Street By Taro Koki. please do some research before saying shit
hey grandpa you are the king! oh yes you are!!!!!! -would a 15 y.o. kid post videos of is KID on youtube? -and hey look, they're grease under my fingernail, I've just come back from work, I'm a car mechanic -Hey fuck they're is a 91 civic b18a ls 92 obd1 currently being rebuilt in my garage, how could that happen?? -Ho shit they've never sold that ZC in my country but hey we did have the B18 LS the non-vtec one I'm use to work on it, and ho we have D series too, but shit they're only SOHC...

E-A is what you need to search. EF is an 88-91. EA is 84-87.
it does not have the chassis of a EF. it dont have independant suspension like the EF, EG, EK.

230hp at 9800 rpm? whatever you are on, i want some of it.
Acutally it appears it does... at the start of the video it rips a 3 wheeler only IRS cars can do that.
