I’ve also met Pedro Guerrero AND David Cone games while getting autographs and Pedro’s upper body (particularly his chest) is huge. He’s very very strong and I promise you he could drop Cone with his strength alone.

    This was the prequel. Before Game 2 of NLCS, Cone writes an article in New York newspaper trash talking the Dodgers. Lasorda makes copies and posts them all over the Dodgers clubhouse (because yeah, no internet). Dodgers respond by scoring 5 runs off him and chasing him in just 2 innings. Then Cone comes back in Game 6 and throws a complete game. Next day Hershiser throws a complete game to win Game 7. Was a great NLCS.

    Pedro Guerrero would probably be in the Hall of Fame if not for injuries. One of the best pure hitters in baseball. He could and steal bases. Hit with power and bat over .300

    His first reaction was fear as he ducked and flinched but when he felt pain he became infuriated and threw the bat. He was all in then and knew it was too late to take that back. Quick reflexes will give you quick reactions good or bad and add some pain to it can make a mo fo crazy.

    I was a kid when this happened. Next time the Dodgers came to Shea I had tickets and was sitting close to the Dodgers dugout. When Pedro first got to the on deck circle a fan ran up and threw one of those huge inflatable bats towards him. Hysterical
