    YUMMY! This was great as an after school snack with a PB sandwich. I made a pint of the chocolate milk, should've made a quart, but... live & learn. I filled an ice cube tray with it and then made a "frappuccino" a couple of hours later. I might not sleep for a while. So good! This stuff is so easy and delicious! Make extra, you won't regret it. The chocolate oat milk ice cubes froze nicely and blended into cold coffee well. Very refreshing on a warm day!

    Hey Jill! I absolutely love your channel, love the recipes. I'm in a weight loss turning myself right now and my goal is to be 100% plant-based when I reach my goal. I'm learning about sweeteners and glycemic effect in the body and I would love to know your opinion on the use of swerve, Stevia, monk fruit versus the dates that you usually use for sweetener.?

    • @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow
      @wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow  Před 5 lety +1

      Heidi Minett
      I only use dates or raisins as sweeteners because it is a whole Food. Apparently stevia, even though it is just a plant creates some kind of dangerous toxin in your body. And the monk fruit sweetener causes a spike in blood sugar as does the stevia even thought they are zero Calories

    • @heidiminett8868
      @heidiminett8868 Před 5 lety

      @@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow do you have a resource for that info? I'm not finding anything about stevia causing toxins. I did found that dates are a great option...lower carb...low glycemic.

    • @silversagerae6353
      @silversagerae6353 Před 4 lety

      @@heidiminett8868 you might keep in mind that Jill specifically pointed out that she uses them because they are "whole Foods" it's in your best interest to not skim over that detail. Rather than seek proof of the toxins I recommend studying the effects of "processed" foods on overall health in ways we do not yet even understand versus using a "whole" food as your sweetener. by using Dates or raisins she is ensuring that a third party processor has not put the food through any process that may cause negative effects on heath. the foods in their whole state are unarguably the least risky way to sweeten. I hope this info is helpful.
