I didn't expect Giovanni to be one of the lodge pairs. It would be funnier if we got Ghetsis Lodge instead.
Im not going to lie, that would be great to have Ghetsis in the Lodge...I STILL kinda had hope that ghetsis will change to become a good father. I AM HOLDING ON TO THAT HOPE MAYBE

Nah, Ghetsis is nothing but a complete scumbag who only finds people as a means to an end at best and a pest to slowly crush at worst.
Giovanni, Cyrus, the Hoenn baddies, Lusamine, Guzma and Rose are like… 100% safer to be around.
I don't know what DENA was thinking by putting Giovanni in the Trainer Lodge. I mean, literally just now Giovanni almost managed to take control of Pasio land in the last villain chapter

I feel this potentially paves the way for some more dangerous villains too. (Like, the closest we've had is N and Silver, who have both mellowed. But Gio remains unrepentant.)
Cyrus would be one thing since he's kinda slowly mellowing too (even acting as an ally in the first Hisui event), but imagine if we got Lysandre (who lightly implied killing us in his first Sync Pair Story, and who likely boiled two Rocket Grunts alive, and then nearly does the same to some to a Break Grunt in his second Sync Pair Story) or even Ghetsis or Volo.
(To elaborate further on the lightly implied "killing us", he gets a line like, "You are a symbol of hope, but equally a symbol of despair. The brighter that hope shines, the greater the despair when it fades to nothing, no?")
To be honest, amongst the more dangerous villains, the don is safer to be around.
Compare that to literal child groomer Ghetsis or murder happy Lysander.

I will say Giovanni making a "joke" isn't something I expect of him, hehe - I'm not sure if our bland protagonist energy is needed for Team Rocket, but whatever.
