Found you the last time I decided I was "done with alcohol".....a couple years back....fast forward to today and here I am again. Thanks for filling my inbox with your damn emails LOL....annoying at times because I didnt want to look in the mirror. BUT was a good subconscious reminder that a better way to live is just around the corner. 13 days sober today and I am dusting off your book (The Naked Mind) once again. Thank you Annie. xoxo

Getting a grasp on the chemistry happening when drinking was key for me escaping alcohol. I was trapped in a terrible loop of hating myself, abusing myself for failing, fearing what life would be like with no relief and how that change would effect my social life. Day 61 now, and there's no looking back. Best decision of my adult life, thank you Annie for the tools to understand and dispatch the biggest problem in my life.

Honestly, if you're having cravings, read This Naked Mind. I tried to quit drinking for 14 years with no success. Read that book once and I have zero cravings. If you've read it and you still have cravings, read it again. It just shows you still have false beliefs about alcohol and you need to shine the light of truth on this socially acceptable poison. Changed my life!

Thanks Annie. I am really enjoying your videos. I have been researching this "phenomenon of craving" which an AA friend of mine said would prevent her from ever having a drink again. I was shocked because I considered her to be a very aware individual. She owns and operates an addiction treatment facility and follows the AA philosophy that addiction is an allergy. I am a meditation/mindfulness teacher and a follower of many spiritual teachers, especially Eckhart Tolle." Studying him over the years has brought me to the awareness that ALL of the negative emotions in my life are products of my own mind...the conditioned mind, aka ego. And I believe that, just as we form these habitual reactions to life in the first place to ease our pain, we can also (due to neuroplasticity) change these thought patterns to serve us. My AA friend said that taking a drink would kill her. When I said I didn't understand this, she admonished me to do my research on this "phenomenon of craving." And so I have come upon your videos. I am so pleased to see that this is not a cause for addictions but rather an opportunity to pay attention to our thoughts. Thanks for the great presentation. I also am writing a book (The Games the Ego Plays), and want to include this conversation of emotional/spiritual immaturity vs. physical determinism in my writing. It is so hopeful. I feel that mindfulness is offering an evolutionary step in dealing with addictions and contributing toward our awakening as a species. Thanks for your good work.

The problem is with me that I never hit rock bottom. 1-2! Bottle of wine dont make me feel any like that. And I dont need shots or whatever. Áll I need is the time to pass in a kinda nice way.
To be honest I miss feeling rock bottom, so I could stop.
But I am unprodactive. And I dont really like it.
Anyways, its áll good "Just for tonight"..

Many of us don't hit rock bottom but change because we don't enjoy the way drinking makes us feel.

Some good points to be sure. You talk about meditation and mindfulness but no mention of being spiritually connected which is known to create new neuro pathways. Is there a reason that is not addressed as an answer to cravings?

Meditation is the key to spiritual connectivity. You can't have that without mediation which is to dissolve mind and body.
