Indian army did a great injustice to Brig. Devinder Singh after the Kargil War. There should be an inquiry into it . The hero of Bataliks should be given the respect and honors they deserve.
Its said that even the Galwan vally incident occurred due the incompetence of higher leadership within the forces. The lessons to be learned after the Kargil war was never learnt as the people responsible made sure that the truth never comes out. People like Brig. Devinder Singh should have had retired as a Gen, with this kind of track record. Politics and corruption have also seeped in to the Armed forces. We can see this in the current Russia-Ukraine war, corruption in the Russian army along with with incompetent leadership caused them heavy loses during the initial phase of the war, also arms coming to Ukraine gets diverted to black markets by their corrupt army leaders too. The Wagner forces had the policy of promoting people who performed, hence they were better than the regular Russian forces and when they started overshadowing them, they got pushed back...

Brig Devinder Singh was The Leader, and with all the inputs I have professionally from top officers of the time, he fought and led from the front, caught the first Pak POWs, but for strange reasons, the Corps commander Lt Gen Krishan Pal spoilt his promotion process, on some ego issue, and tried to give the credit of the victory in his sector to another officer who was only visiting the area. Very unfortunate and unprofessional of the top commander. Proud of You, Brig Devinder Singh. 🙏💪 Do read the first book on Kargi by Lt Gen Bammi.
It's very sad and unfortunate for a brigadier who bought so many victories to the country to be let down by his very own institution and made a scapegoat for Kargil Intel Failure and brought an end to his career which could have easily gone much higher than just a brigadier. The brave Brigadier had to fight the case in court to get himself out clean and the officers and politicians who did this to him enjoyed promotions. We should make sure such dirty politics should not let down brave officers turn into militants. This was same done with Maj. Gen Shahbeg Singh who came out clean later by the court but stupid personal rivalries and greed of higher officials turns patriots into traitors. These are some harsh realities of our government and army hierarchy where brilliant officers like Devinder Singh suffered, who gave half of their lives for the service of this great nation. Jai Hind!

My father Battery Commander on that time was Maj GS Khara now Brigadier Retd and he lives in Chandigarh. This year my father was called on the raising day of 1211 Med Regt on Jan 8 . Feel proud.
Brig Davinder sing was not given his due credit for his contribution in kargil war... He went to court for this. Later army chief apologised and said he shoud have been promoted for his service to nation.

I visited the Kukarthang area, saw the bunkers built by the Pakistani army, and witnessed the impact of the shelling and bombs from our side. I am amazed at how our soldiers bravely fought in such tough terrain. I always feel inspired to learn more about the 1999 war and the valor of our soldiers. Thanks for the great video!

What I learned from this that our Army was in shit. No equipments lack of manpower. Unit with 1/3 strength told to capture a peak. Ratio 1/15 worked out by Chief. What was his intention? To get our Braves killed. We must course ourselves. Those who died was our son, brother.

According to my knowledge Pakistani army enter 10 kms depth and 130 kms long strech. Called Drass, maskoh, turtuk, Batalik sector. At that time I am just passed 10+2 exam, newspaper reporting every news deeply. at that time I have purchased four English newspaper, and four Hindi news paper each newspaper cost at that time 1 rupees 50 paisa per copy, it's mean I ave spending 12 rupees per day for 3 month,from nay to July last.

A huge credit to Brig Devinder. But India will benefit more if we speak about how this brilliant officer had to retire as a Brigadier and then run around courts to just clear his reputation. What a great officer. What a third class hierarchy in army and nation. Unless we openly talk about the bums of the Kargil war, of which there were so many, it will be of no use to talk of good guys like Brig Devinder. Good senior officers in Kargil were just 1 or 2. You’ll not be able to name the third.

My father was a gunner officer and fought 1971 war in Chamb sector. He was in 1211 Congo battery.

What I learned from this that our Army was in shit. No equipments lack of manpower. Unit with 1/3 strength told to capture a peak. Ratio 1/15 worked out by Chief. What was his intention? To get our Braves killed. We must course ourselves. Those who died was our son, brother.
Please have a podcast with Brig. Surendra Singh also, as he has been fighting for his honour for the past 25 years.

According to my knowledge Pakistani army enter 10 kms depth and 130 kms long strech. Called Drass, maskoh, turtuk, Batalik sector. At that time I am just passed 10+2 exam, newspaper reporting every news deeply. at that time I have purchased four English newspaper, and four Hindi news paper each newspaper cost at that time 1 rupees 50 paisa per copy, it's mean I ave spending 12 rupees per day for 3 month,from nay to July last.

A huge credit to Brig Devinder. But India will benefit more if we speak about how this brilliant officer had to retire as a Brigadier and then run around courts to just clear his reputation.
What a great officer. What a third class hierarchy in army and nation.
Unless we openly talk about the bums of the Kargil war, of which there were so many, it will be of no use to talk of good guys like Brig Devinder. Good senior officers in Kargil were just 1 or 2. You’ll not be able to name the third.

The higher command and nation did not do right by Brig. Singh - IIRC he had to fight a lengthy legal battle to get his name cleared.
सर, आप कह रहे हैं कि इस इलाके में 48,65,71 में भी लड़ाई हुई है। 84 में सियाचिन हुआ। सियाचिन के बाद पाकिस्तान उसके आसपास के इलाकों पर नज़र रख रहा था कि सियाचिन पर दबाव पड़े। फिर इनपुट्स आ रहे थे कि 5000 लोग उस इलाके में मूवमेंट्स कर रहे हैं। यूरोप में विशेष कपड़ों की खरीद हो रही है।इसका मतलब है कि सरकार, सेना और खुफिया एजेंसी की जबरदस्त लपराही हुई है। सभी इस कारगिल दुर्घटना के जिम्मेदार हैं। जिम्मेदार है उन शानदार बहुत ही यंग सैनिकों, अधिकारियों की शहादत के। दुख ये है कि कारगिल युद्ध पर किसी की भी कोई जिम्मेदारी तय नही की गयी। जो कि रोका जा सकता था यदि जिम्मेदारी से सतर्कता बरती जाती।इतने शानदार,काबिल और जांबाज़ जवानों की मृत्यु पर दिल रोता है। कारगिल की लड़ाई भारतीय सेना और भारत की बहुत बड़ी क्षति है। जरूर इसके लिए श्वेत पत्र जारी होने चाहिए और जिम्मेदारी तय की जानी चाहिए।
