There is an ever-increasing online presence of education opportunities under the Open University while the majority of these are for use as a self-directed noncredit course. Many Universities offer an online degree program that provides for credited courses that can lead to Graduation fees and requirements vary. As a retired self-learner I avail myself of these on a continuing basis. I have Audited classes at Yale. Harvard, MIT, New York University, Arizona State, Hillsdale College and a number of others on a variety of Courses. I usually purchase an older edition of the textbook, and some have PDF files of required reading I usually take a course based on a topic I have read about online. Such as Ancient Histories, Philosophy, Geology, DNA, Physics. Recently a history of Ukraine by Tymothy Snyder: History of Ukraine | Yale Lectures

American universities have lost their way. As they have increasingly shunned diversity of thought they have lost the political neutrality that their relationship with government depended on.
