  • The Most Versatile Female Vocalist is featured on this showcase(of the series). LInda Ronstadt sang country, rock, jazz, classical, etc. with success. Because of her pitch, range, vibrato, texture, etc. she can sing almost anything. You've got to hear her in Pirates of Penzance which we showcase her vocal ability. Hope you enjoy the video!! "Crazy". Patsy had the first hit with it, but Willy Nelson wrote it for her. I just had to mention that, because so many people don't give him the credit for being one of the best song writers of the 1950s and early 60s.

I enjoy all of her music and liked the selections but I was disappointed that the video didn’t fearure shorter clips from every genre as a “showcase” would have done. The year on Broadway, followed by the jazz years with Nelson Riddle developed her voice to its highest level - on display with the Mexican albums. That’s when she was at the absolute peak of her powers. The video still gets a 👍🏻

John, you are so right in that there are so many songs/hits to choose from. The genres the categories just so so many. I think I agree for the word versatile, it’s the perfect description. I don’t think in my lifetime anyone came close. But what drew me in, I’ll finish here with someone who is trying. I hope to see what she does for a long long time. Pardon the pun. Another fun video, I got more to view. If Olivia is in the mix, I got another link. LOL
Thank you for you good work and patience.

@@JohnMurphyabc it’s taken me time to figure it out. She’s doing it by ear. No singing lessons, no piano lessons, some guitar lessons. She hears it she can do it. I like to call it “homage” when she goes for closeness. There are plenty of examples when it’s just her Alto voice and that’s pretty damn special, too. Her full song ”Georgia on My Mind” she’s not copying Ray, or Karen, it’s her. She sang “The Winner Takes It All” I detect a slight Swedish accent. 😄 When she covers The Beatles, it’s her. Her natural voice is so close to Karen, all she has to do is pick up a technique and 🤷🏻‍♂️. Merry Christmas, Darling is spooky close. I hope you enjoyed. Oh, yeah, for an Alto, how the heck is she following Olivia up to the stratosphere? She does. Be well, keep doing your stuff and I wish for you what I wish for her, more followers! 🙏
