      Hi! Please know that a WordPress site can not have more than 1 theme but you can use multiple themes for pages in WordPress.
      Check here: www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-use-multiple-themes-for-pages-in-wordpress/

    1. It will be really nice to have more monetizing features like the advance ads integration ( something similar to what peepso have)
    2. also creating pools and uploading videos are engaging boosters. ( the video feature can go further, like having a custom page that shows all the popular and last video uploaded on the community)
    3. being able to have a referral program on user registration is something quite advance and can make the community go viral especial if it comes with fraud detection base on if the new user is actually engaging during a preset duration to make sure they are not fake or robots)
    4. A Social Login option to create accounts with facebook or google...
    5. A multilanguage community supports both RTL and LTR base on what language the users choose. ( and this can go advanced with some tagging options, like / suggest or show the groups based on the language that the user talk, X language users can only see the groups with the X language tag that can be selected in the options when a new group is created, this can save a lot of time and provide a great user experience for all kind of multilanguage communities)
    ( I have more ideas and can continue dreaming, but I will say that these are enough for now 😜 )

      Thanks for your feedback! We are constantly building new features in the background, based on customer feedback. In coming months you will see some releases with major new features.
      From your feedback, videos is in the current list of short term projects. We will add support for uploading video files everywhere that you can currently add photos - Profiles, Groups, Forums, Messages.
      Social Login is also on the todo list, but a bit further down the line, as there are already a few WP plugins that provide this feature. But we do want to add it natively in a more streamlined and integrated way.
      The other feedback we will consider for the future. We get all kinds of requests and it all takes time to build, so we focus on the ones that we see being requested over and over as the first priorities. Thanks!

    Hi folks, I am so confused by the plugins/platforms/themes.
    Do you know where I might find some "meta" advice?
    I have a training site (Kreativ Pro theme) working with memberpress and Courseware.
    I'd like to keep Courseware (too much hassle to move the training modules, I'd think) and add a BuddyBoss-type discussion forum.
    I understand this means I might need to install a new theme (which means re-doing the entire site)?
    All I know is I have some BIG decisions to make and I have unsuccessfully searched for an overview of how these things do or don't work together. thank you.

    • @BuddybossWP
      @BuddybossWP  Před 4 lety

      Our product stack is two products - BuddyBoss Platform and BuddyBoss Theme. The platform is the plugin that powers all of the social features, and the theme styles it all to look nice. Our products work very nicely with MemberPress. We haven't put in any effort to support Courseware, so it might not look nice in our theme. It will just look very basic, using the Courseware's default styling. So you will want to consider that. It should function fine with our products but just isn't styled in any special way, as we have done for LearnDash. And yes switching themes means re-doing a lot of the site - your whole layout is determined by the theme. Hope that helps!

    Buddy Boss is among the best, the least amount of errors and bugs. Great to build a Social Network. However some important elements really need more focus.
    1) Styling of the profile pages, they still look almost like buddypress core instead of linked in or FB
    2) Activity Page is starting to look dated and more thought needs to go into this section too especially with the changes made by FB and Linked In.
    3) A Force Profile Completion is missing, this is really essential to force users to add some relevant data before they start using the site, this is crucial in the early days of getting the social network firing.
    4) The Events Calendar Pro Integration needs a revamp as modern tribe have moved to Gutenberg and when you activate Gutenberg, the calendar does not play well with the Buddy Boss Platform. There are image , content resizing issues and the map as well.

      @@BuddybossWP Thanks for taking the time to get back to me . The 5th requirement is the ability to share post on other popular social networks, this is still a VERY important feature missing. As for your feature enhancements requests , you can't wait for for the request from 95% of your users as they do not have an active site as yet. FEATURE requests must be taken from customers who HAVE active WORKING sites like mine which most likely account for 5% of your customers. What I am saying is You CAN'T Wait for "Enough Requests", that I believe is the wrong approach as 95% of your customers don't have the need for the improvements as they have not come across the need due to not having enough users or real active customers.

      There is no difference, as the child is just a starter child theme, so it does not actually override anything. How to switch from buddypress to buddyboss without losing data?

    • @BuddybossWP
      @BuddybossWP  Před rokem +1

      Hi Chamindu, note that before doing any migration please always make a backup for your live site.
      To start, you can deactivate all BuddyPress plugin and by simply activating the BuddyBoss Platform all the data from BuddyPress will automatically be implemented in the BuddyBoss Platform.
      BuddyBoss Platform is a fork of BuddyPress and is designed to be backward compatible with BuddyPress data and most BuddyPress plugins. If you will move to BuddyBoss, you should BuddyPress as this is a full replacement.
      We have improved almost every aspect of BuddyPress and added many new features
      Since BuddyBoss Platform is a fork and forge of the BuddyPress plugin and bbPress plugin. Any plugin developed for the BuddyPress and bbPress plugin is supported by the BuddyBoss Platform.
      You do NOT need to install the BuddyPress plugin or the bbPress plugin separately. BuddyBoss Platform acts as a replacement for both the plugins.
      You can also check this video czcams.com/video/TY_XRkAOE64/video.html. You can just ignore the Boss Theme on the video, but it sums up the migration from BuddyPress to the BuddyBoss platform.

      You could do that, but there will be some compatibility issues in the theme. We have changed many of the templates from BuddyPress to allow for nicer interfaces. When I review your tickets I can see the bugs reported are being catalogued in our internal bug tracker. We actually move very aggressively in fixing bugs and adding features. This next release has over 30 issues already merged in to be included. Please keep in mind that every single issue reported needs to be verified, fixed, tested, and reviewed, before we can push it into a release. That process takes some time, and then once we release the patch we come back and tell the customer. Many of the other issues you reported are in fact feature requests, I see a lot of requests for various options to be added etc. Every customer has their own small things they want, and if we did all of these requests it would be impossible, it's almost endless the requests we get. So we catalogue them and the ones that are repeated frequently get prioritized. We have our own roadmap of features that we are working on first, guided by a lot of customer feedback.
