Dave O was a very fine gentleman who was dearly liked by many spent several sunrises in Strasburg with him will always remember that fine man RIP Dave

The 611 is a streamliner type that has very clean and pleasing lines and curves. Built in 1950 at the very end of the steam era and destined to a short operating lifetime. Glad to see her back in operation if only in commemorative runs. Also, a fitting tribute to a well loved railfan -- all-aboard Dave!
611 sure had some wheel slip coming into Paradise. Wonder if it was just the wet rails?

May God ride the rails with you David as we mourn your loss while watching the 611on our Strasburg and Paradise railcams as she starts her Pride Month on the SRR! 💔✝🧡✝💛✝💚✝💙✝💜 RIP!
This Locomotive, is 1 of only 14 built, and is the only survivor. Built in 1950 at the Roanoke shops, in service til 1959, the Spirit of Roanoke is a true survivor, and a piece of history. What an awesome sight!!

Dave was such a kind person. He loved the Strasburg railroad. And ever since he left the cam people have felt bad. I’m one of them. And I’m my opinion we should make a bench at Strasburg for Dave. Comment for more info.

How about we find a way for him to get a funeral train at Strasburg and a memorial plaque of some form? I knew him as a mod but honestly his humor deserves way more...

First of all my condolences to Dave Chambers family. Stay strong💪. VR as usual the first hand to get this peace of history of N&W 611. These guys felt honor operated these steam loco. I would like to go to Strasburg myself. They're having too much fun over there.

611 is the coolest, although, the 4014 takes the cake by a land slide
I know that’s an opinion, but 611’s streamlined design allowed it to me much faster and more efficient than the Big Boy
