  • Sculpfun sent out the S10 laser for me to check out. This is a 10 watt output diode laser with integrated air assist and linear rail for the X axis for extra stability. I ran some of the typical tests to see how it compares and what I think of this laser for my workshop. I'll show some real time cutting tests as well as show off a few projects I made using this laser. It's price puts it in the mid-range for 10w diode lasers and I'll give you some examples of it's work to help you decide it it's the right laser for your workshop as well.

    Thank you sir for the solid review. It helps understanding the functioning of the air pump and how it afects the precision of the cut. Cheers from Brazil.

    I like the packaging in bags for each step. Good for those of us who are terrible with directions..

      More places are doing this and it really helps with the builds to not be sorting through random screws and bolts!

      @@Vintauri I agree. I have a LM3 that just came in. Gonna tackle that tomorrow.

      @@TheClackShack that one is a bit different in its assembly but not too bad. I’ll be interested in what you think of it once you put it to the test.

    This is Dean graber I'm thinking about getting, your video has helped me make my decision hopefully it helps me make a little money but it's a start. Thanks. Would like to send you some of the other things you use your laser on too.

      Glad I could help! You might also want to look at the S30 series from Sculpfun. I just posted my review of the 5w version today. It's biggest difference from the S10 is the inclusion of the limit switches as well as the air assist being controlled by the laser and the software.

    Can it engrave photographs /portraits on marble slabs? Engrave portraits granites? Is it clear? And if it is how much price range ? I want to try goin in the laser business, i want to have fun and also want to share a project with my family , thank u and i like aswell as subbed!

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před rokem

      That will depend on the color of the marble. As the diode lasers wavelength is at 455mn in the visible spectrum, it will vary on how it interacts with the material based on the color and translucency. A dark black marble will work much better than a white marble. This is why you have to apply a coating to glass to get the UV Diode lasers to etch on it, otherwise it would go right through it.

    I am looking into getting a Sculpfun S10 laser I was wondering if it can cut metal.

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 9 měsíci

      Other than perhaps some super thin foil, no diode lasers will cut metal. You’ll need a high powered co2 laser or a fiber laser to cut metal.

    Did you cut mirror acrylic or black

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před rokem

      I did not test acrylic with this one. Black acrylic should be no problem around 3mm to 6mm but mirrored will not likely cut all the way through. You'll really need a Co2 laser for that.

    there is a detail here that no one talks but, they should talk, the power supply that comes with this machine "sculpfun S10", is not in condition for this machine, and probably for the s9, I say safe source that when you are cutting reaches spend 8 Amp, how is that a source like this that comes with the machine that has the power of12V 3Amp reaches to cut MDF 4m / m, the source aninha reaches 11. 55 volts, any day the source will burn out. They should tell people everything they know so that they won't be fooled, and they should be prepared in advance with a power source. So pay attention when you buy a laser machine, what matters is the output power of the laser diode. Mine is an S10 10W" and it doesn't do what you show, how do you do it?, but if I put a power supply with capacity to feed the machine it even cuts, be honest and "don't fool people" my machine even spends 8 Amp.

    Any tips on how to get mine to work out of the box? I Can’t get it to home itself without grinding. Simply can’t figure out how to calibrate it for its first project 🫤

    • @Vintauri
      @Vintauri  Před 7 měsíci

      Did your laser come with limit switches? If not, it won’t home, if so, check all the connectors to make sure none are loose.
