DTG have missed a trick by not adding FLUs. Even if you don't have Brighton Mainline you could still use the FLU in Scenario Planner or there could have been a couple of scenarios on SEHS using it for a test run or something along those lines.
Yes 100%
I think the reason that this DLC is so cheap is because they want to sell the FLU as part of a route or a standalone DLC
WHAT'S FLU again?
@@jasonpeisley6031full length unit
@@oldtechnobodycaresaboutaka a 12 car 700
Real pity about it not featuring on the BML and the lack of FLU's with this add-on. I'm sure they have their reasons for that, as BML was a massive leap forward in terms of timetable mode and the chap in charge of setting that up did his fair share of overtime I believe. But it just doesn't feel quite right south of East Croydon without some 700s.
It's a hard unit to dislike from a driving perspective though as the lovely big front windscreen makes it feel like a completely different task from the 377, for example. The 7xx are still amongst my faves in TSC. Would be interesting to read some drivers views of them in real life, with work stresses thrown in on top, which the sim can't capture in fairness.
I have a feeling a route will include this is the annual summer release of upcoming add on .No way they made all the effort on AC for it never to be used. Exciting times ahead I think
I went on one of these just recently when going on holiday to Brighton they are absolutely amazing 🙂
Looks good, what software do you use to create the channel graphics and on your live streams how do you control them?
In dc mode for the class 700 is the sound of the class 450 but for train sim world 3 in dc mode it sounds like the class 350
Try using the other tabs of the HMI when the train is at a stand 😉
With regards to door camera screens, there are many racing games that display mirrors as part of your HUD, so i can't see why it's not featured if I'm honest
Laziness. Simple as. Picture in Picture has been a thing for years now in games way more demanding than this.
@@danielgould9107 f1 games have done it for years
@@Westwoodisapleb many games have. Many more demanding games have. Look at gran Turismo. The graphics and physics make tsw look silly. That can display all three mirrors at once. It’s laziness.
@danielgould9107 that's a good point. Gt did it from 1998
Render to texture is very, very easy in Unreal Engine. Took me about half an hour to set up. The performance impact is staggering, though.
Still wish they shipped with the announcement computer systen. Even if they had to push them as a paid addon.
Nice demo Richard! Did you notice that the sanderbutton, you activated, (it lit up), it goes off by itself after, I guess abt 30 sec? If not, the whole line would have been sanded (as far has the amount on board sand would have reached). You say that the train has traction motors for DC and for AC. Are you sure about that. I mean that could, but I thought for AC the voltage is transformed down and than rectified. Moders trains have 3 phase traction motors. So the DC is converted by alternators to generate 3 phase AC. And I noticed one more thing. At the end where you were running under AC, you showed us details on the underside of the train, with that brake shoe. But I saw the 3rd rail DC pick up shoe still hanging down. Don't they get lifted up when AC mode is activated? I thought that the Javelin in TS on the high speed line has a shoe up/down button when changing between DC and AC mode.
I really do hope that Train sim world adds Thameslink to the midland mainline and Brighton mainline then it will give us so much to do on the 700
I have the add-on, whilst it's good, they missed a trick in my opinion by not having any option's to drive it on the London Commuter down the Brighton mainline.
thank you
they talked about how theyre familliar with 700s as they run at their local station and yet they somehow didnt know that both bogies on the motor coaches are powered. i can only hear motor sounds coming from the rear bogie on each motor coach, that is not how 700s work
Did you see if the gangways bend and arent static? Cuz thats a major selling point for me (yes i like seeing them bend lol)
Simrail has dynamic dirt on the windows + a window wash
Simrail the Dovetail killer
36:20 booked yourself a morning meeting no coffee!
Wow class 700!! Finally!!!
Has been out for a few months. To be fair its a pretty decent train to drive
Going Gravesend, but says Luton on the display
✌✌✌✌✌✌so good
I normally don't really hate dovetail and i still dont but this seriously feels like so early acces like it isnt even on the brighton mainline
Hey dad rail can you do a video on what is and isn’t a good reason to pull the passenger alarm as there is no real clear guidance and in fact guidance can contradicting. They say if you need a first aid kit to contact the driver but they also say if you need medical assistance to not pull the alarm off so when should we and should we not pull it?
In real life. At least at strood 700 drivers treat an RLU as a full 12 car unit. No idea why unless they love seeing you run to the stairs
There’s several locations along that line of route where there’s an “ALL” car marker at the end of the platform instead of an “RLU”.
Incidentally, the one at Strood was very recently changed so that the trains no longer stop at the furthest point on the platform.
The modelling look really good. Regarding the DC sounds. I think they sound almost right. However you can hear a slight loop in the sound at one point. Regarding the DMI switchover. Did you know that when only using one screen you're limitted to 60mph as per degraded AWS working due to the sundial being smaller than regulation requires.
i mean A HELL OF A LOT BETTER than train simulator classic class 700 addon.
Yes, this is a product demo, not even DTG bothers to show it in such detail, even when they can.
Do you think they will added the ap dc sounds at a later stage dad rail ?
Dtg couldn't get dc sounds from ap. They couldn't work a deal out due to complicated reasons
@@potatoman451 youd have convinced me there if it wasnt for the fact that all the other sounds are AP, those are definalty the AP door and run sounds, why would those be no problem but the motor sounds are?
@@Trainman10715they explained that AP got the DC sounds from someone, who refused to let AP give them to dovetail. All comes down to contracts and copyright.
Even 4 months later ETCS and ATO are not modeled at all, so you're basically driving it like a new driver who has not qualified on ETCS L2
Can we change the PIS manually?
is there a peterborough route?
No
Wait the DRA talks to you on 700s?!
It does indeed
I know right!
Driver! You have reset the DRA, please check the signal!
The DC sounds sound like the 380
And the 360/350
I would love them if they make it so we can go to Luton airport
Who would want to go to Luton? Even if it is in a simulator 😂
I think scenarios leaving Luton would be more popular 🤣
You should've used the sound mod...
I have just seen that mod. Will have to get it installed
Where passenger station announcements
That’s a feature that I would love to see.
@@DadRail they should really do a bedford-brighton dlc with the thameslink train, and have some st pancras services which stop at luton etc
Starting to get frustrated with dovetail. We can all wait for new DLC but they really need to focus on quality of quality, specially since we have to keep spending money for products that miss things out
What are the main problems in your opinion?
@@DadRail I think I agree with what you were saying. I own a lot of DLC in this game and its things like announcements, stopping markers etc that really do add up to a full experience. I guess to some it doesn’t seem like much, but glitches that still exist and these little things do add up to frustration, which to be honest puts me off of any new content before I watch a play through to judge it
I think a lot of the routes and other DLC just lack that final layer of polish.
@@DadRailI agree, especially with the likes of Linke Rheinstrecke and NEC: New York to Trenton (but I don't have Trenton yet, and I'll wait until after the massive update and see if it's ok at that point).
For me the sounds being wrong on DC isn’t ideal, although they aren’t horrendous. Agree that things like the missing stop car markers and lack of PIS control are irritating, but IMO the three major flaws with this are not having the DOO cameras, not having it on the BML, and not having the FLU units available too.
Edited to add: the interior overall is really good, but bizarrely, they seem to have used the emergency door release covers from the 717s, rather than glass that’s on the 700s. Also, not sure if it’s just an illusion, but the ceiling looks a kind of strange orangey brown colour? It’s definitely not that!
P.S awesome video - DTG could learn a thing or two about showing their products off from you!
THEY MESSED UP THE MOTOR AGAIN
They couldn't get actual sounds
@@potatoman451 lazy
I like your content, probably the most honest DTG ambassador on YT. But, the amount of ads you're placing on your vids are really high. Every 5 mins is too many.
Creators moan about people using ad blockers, but then spam their viewers with upto 9 ad rolls in a 40 min video
Thanks for your comment. I like to be as honest as possible but also fair.
I don’t manually place the ads. CZcamss algorithms auto place the mid video ads. I wonder if the algorithm has changed? Have you noticed it on other videos or just this one?
DC Motor sounds on this DLC are so annoying. After 11min I had enough. Yet again DTG scrimping on quality but happy to take your money for such poor quality products. Do many bits missing. Not even released to operate on the London to Brighton line.
Next they'll rebadge a TGV and call it a class 390 for use only on the IOW DLC. We should expect and receive better quality DLCs.
Are you on smack?
TSW is rubbish, constant disappointment.
Lol. Why do you have to advertise you are real train crew. Lol. A lot of us are. Lmao
didn't you do the same on your Glossop conducting video :-)
Like watching paint dry so very Dull
