Yeah this bike is awesome! It was my first ride out that day trying to "describe" what I was feeling but just couldnt get the words out, but I mean I feels its great in every category to enduro, dualsport, exploring in comfort. Its like a unicorn bike! haha

Would this be good bike for a beginner ( 40 years old, 200 lbs) just for woods riding?

i would definitely say the ttr250 is a great beginner bike. I wouldnt hesitate to get one. im also 40 about 200 lbs suits me perfect

People say these are top heavy like the drz400. What do you think? I'm looking for something light, flickable and torquey

I would definitely say the TTR250 is a good moderate torquey bike. I really like the suspensions on it. It is definitely not like the DRZ400 and although the DRZ400 can do tight single track just fine, I would rather use the ttr250. The issue would be parts though. Parts on the drz400 is much easier to find vs the ttr250 but I think for slightly more aggressive trail riding a ttr250 is better vs the drz400. If you are doing more county roads and higher paced trails, a drz400E is probably what you want to look for

Im in new zealand, we got the aussie versions which they continued to make untill in 2012 they discontinued them. So parts are still available. How does it compare in acceleration and suspension with the crf300?
