- We took six beautiful Malaysian celebrities’ Instagrams to the streets of NYC to get people’s reactions, not just to their pictures but also to their singing and performances! For many Americans it was their first time seeing celebrities wearing hijabs - so they were totally impressed with these hijabistas! Our list included Siti Nurhaliza, Michelle Yeoh, Nora Danish, Neelofa, Fazura, and Mira Filzah.

The reason why she says that is because shes used to the stereotype of muslim women wearing all plain black and wearinh the hijab covering their face. I don't blame her for thinking that way because thats how western media potrays muslim women. Xiaoma should have atleast explained to them that muslims in South East Asia are less conservative and a bit liberal, just to break that stereotype.

they don't know Malaysia because they never bother learning the map. Ask them where Fiji/Bhutan/Mongolia/Turkey/Scotland etc are and they won't know either. Most of them can't even name & locate all the states in their own country. Org malaysia pun ramai yg tk kenal byk negara. Most people like me used to find hijab or tudung kinda' ugly, no offense but developed a fetish after living in Malaysia for most of my life. We also dislike how they're strict. No offence to Muslims and their religions, just speaking my thoughts.
