D W in 12/13 the lost fair and square to better teams. In 14, they got jewed by the refs in OKC. In 15, Paul got hurt but they blew the series in a game 7 at Houston, in 16 CP broke hand and Blake broke leg, in 17 Blake broke toe, obviously they always fell short of their goal but they were easily the most unlucky team in all of NBA history. Especially that 2014 playoff run. They played KD and Russ with a stacked thunder team and should’ve won that series but refs stole game 5 from them..

Those two plays gave OKC the 6 points to take the lead. No one can say the clippers didn’t dominate that game. It haunts me to this day. i always thought the one thing they lacked was a solid versatile wing starter. Crawford was nice but being the heart and soul of the bench, plus getting up in years, meant that you couldn't play him 30-40 min a game all the time.
Had they landed a big name starter who is content not being the #1 option, plays solid defense, and had Crawfords handles and driving ability along with JJ Reddicks shooting ability - they prolly would have went all the way.
Someone like Bradley Beal, Jimmy Butler, or even Klay Thompson would have been perfect on those squads.
A younger Manu Ginobli would have fit well too. As far as modern players not available back then or not in their prime yet - Victor Oladipo, Jaylen Brown, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Donovan Mitchell would all have been great on those squads!

Injuries and lack of a small forward and back up power forward or center..I loved this team man. Doc always made some questionable moves or then he would get players and not let them get any minutes and those players would go to another team and do well..

Lob City always needed a Go To scored like many teams.. Melo woulda been nasty, y’all add others. They had the PG they had the inside threats, they had a bench.. they needed a championship caliber wing.

Something the Clippers now don't really have... they don't have a true PG and all they do is shoot 3's. Reggie Jackson is not a true PG like CP3 is
