if I wear the weight belt below my hips and swim vertical, my weights will slide off and loose them ,lucky if I catch them on time by spreading my legs before they drop to the bottom floor ... just my experience , I have not tried those rubber belts though and I don`t see me tighten hard around my hips just so they don`t slide off . been diving for over 15 years... thanks for your videos , here to learn new things , new products .

I've had those plastic buckles come off a bunch of times before I went back to the regular metal ones. Very easy to ditch but that's the problem. I also use a crotch strap to keep the belt from riding up when I dive.

Ahhh yes the crotch strap also often overlooked ;)

i use crotch strap only if I use a back flotation bcd for scuba, not if using a jacket bcd ... never needed while free diving though but wouldn`t hurt if you need them.

Where’s the video to see what to do with excess material so it’s not flapping all over the place?

Nahh your belt is not ideal for freediving, I know cuz I used to use one also.... you don't know any better until you try a proper stretchy rubber one. ;) Also obviously I'm promoting what I'm selling isn't it obvious :D

I also use a neoprene pocket belt because 1) soft on the hips even with hard lead in the pockets, even softer if using soft lead bags 2) the neoprene belt stretches just as much or more than those rubber belts so they are always tight to your body 3) you can tune balance weight position thru the pockets ,no need to fill all the pockets 4) no more bruises on the hips !
