- Whitechapel is a district located in the East End of London, England. In 1888, it became infamous as the hunting ground of Jack the Ripper, a serial killer who brutally murdered and mutilated at least five women in the area. The Ripper's crimes were particularly gruesome and shocking, and they received widespread media coverage both in the UK and abroad. The murders also sparked a massive manhunt by the police, but the Ripper was never caught and his identity remains a mystery to this day. Despite the passage of time, Whitechapel's association with the Ripper continues to draw visitors and tourists interested in exploring the history and mystery of this dark chapter in London's past.
This episode of Rest for the Wicked features Dark Ambient Music with a gothic edge and rain sounds.

One thing I learned recently about this is the fact that butcher was one of the most common jobs in Whitechapel. A man could be walking down the street holding a butcher knife and covered in blood and no one would notice anything unusual about it. He likely walked right past the police moments after killing.
Definitely he also would definitely not have worn a top hat and long cloak like film version
That ambience spooky me right from the beginning. It's like I was transported to a backalley on a dark rainning night. Creepy and lovely, wonderful work! ♥
So glad you like it! Thank you, Luiz!
Jack of the Ripper victims;
Mary Ann Nichols
Annie Chapman
Elizabeth Stride
Catherine Eddowes
Mary Jane Kelly.
RIP
Thank you for the addition. The really sad thing about this story is the fact that not only were the women's deaths horrible, but so were their adult lives.
Martha Tabram was possibly the first killed
Though, her injuries weren't as extensive as the others
I care far more about them than about who the Ripper was. The only purpose that could really be served by discovering his identity was to bring him to justice, but by now he’s long dead. It’s too late for him to be brought to earthly justice, and he’s probably already received his just deserts in the afterlife, so now there’s no point in figuring out who or what he was.
But we can remember the very real human beings whose tragic lives he ended. They are far more deserving of being remembered than he ever was.
The ideal music for a horror themed convention such as the For The Love Of Horror con in Manchester that takes place every October.
Definitely;-) Thanks for watching!
Wow, with first notes I appeared in a dark corner of one of the terrifying streets of misty London.. Perfect music!
Thank you very much! I appreciate you watching!
Killer music, killer artwork ! You have the most underrated musical channel I've came across so far. Keep up the good work nonetheless, no doubt it will take off in the near future !
Thank you for your kind words, which I hope will come true!
I also produce this kind of music, and I was amazed how this track really manages and evoke this hazy and gloomy environment!
Nice to hear that from a musician! Thanks a lot, buddy!
This is amazing, it’s like you have looked inside my head and put my thoughts about the era and JtR to music. So many Ripper themed music doesn’t have the menace that you capture. Love it!
Very happy to hear that! Thank you very much, David!

“You’re not ganna see the 20th century”
So nice, my comment is first here. Man, this is amazing. From the very first minute...The evil sneaking down the street is almost tangible.
Thanks for your support, buddy! I really appreciate it!
Thank you so much for your work, you have compiled the most motivational songs
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Amazing spooky music 😱
I‘m glad you like it! Thanks for watching, Toni!
I'm loving your channel. It was an instant subscription for me. Just out of curiosity, would a video based on Phantom of the Opera be something you'd be interested in making?
Very happy to hear that! Thanks you so much. Regarding your question: There will definitely be a video about The Phantom of the Opera.
The image for this looks similar to the game Vampyre for the PS4 - in fact much of the sound and ambience produced feels similar to that game. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I played this game and i thought its from the game :-)
Thanks for uploading. We listened to this as a soundtrack of sorts last night while playing the Letters From Whitechapel board game. Good music for it.
Awesome! Thank you!
Superb! So glad I found your amazing work! 👍👍👍
Happy to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Wow, Daniel. Thank you so much! After so many Super Thanks, I'd like to give you something in return. Do you have a personal wish or suggestion for a new episode?
Fenrir the Wolf.
A Norse backdrop.
This is a tale of Fear, Betrayal and the Apocalypse.
You do Norse mouthwatering good btw.
This video is amazing and the aura is so haunting. I feel like I'm walking down the street of Whitechapel and thinking he's lurking nearby. I would love to have this on repeat. 🎩🎩
What are the names of the music, I love to have them on my playlist??
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it. Regarding the titles: The different pieces used in this video do not have specific names.
This is wonderful ambience. And the scene you've created compliments it really well, it reminds me of the game called Vampyr too. Extremely bleak, lurking danger and desolate vibes.
So glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
I love how you include interesting stories in these pieces of music. The soundtrack depicts them very well. You are very creative 👍
Very kind! Thank you very much!
This made me think of the video game Indigo Prophecy. Totally weird and unique game with a terrible ending but the atmosphere the music played to set the tone was intense and this has that vibe :) thank you
Interesting game, just like Fahrenheit, which I believe is from the same developer. The music was great in both games, so that's a nice compliment. Thank you very much!
@@restforthewicked6842 same game :) different title between UK and US
@@ThePauseMenuVlog Thanks for the clarification, it's been a while since the release;-)
As a man knee-deep in investigating my family's gruesome unresolved murder, as well as being an amateur Ripperologist on the side, I only have 2 words to say.
Thank you.
I appreciate you watching!
Excellent !
Thanks for watching!
This is Awesome 👍
Thank you very much!
love that music
So glad to hear that! Thank you very much!
Good job as always
So glad to hear that! Thank you!

I‘m glad to hear that. Thanks for watching!
thank you man ıt really so dark and relaxıng ın same tıme..
Thank you very much, Omer!
Getting the movie from hell vibes nice job 👍
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
This definitely helped me with a story that me and my friend are doing! It’s basically Edward Hyde vs Jack The Ripper. I know it sounds stupid but gotta have some fun while listening to these videos!
Sounds interesting! Thanks for watching!
Sounds Cool
don’t think we’ll ever know who the Ripper was, and at this point I don’t care. He was a murderer and mutilator, and that’s all we NEED to know about him. The only real purpose that could’ve been served by finding his true identity was so he could be brought to justice. But by now he’s long dead, so it’s too late for him to receive earthly justice and he’s probably already receiving God’s justice. What further point is there in finding out who he was?
I’d much rather focus on his victims. We DO know who they were, and making them the focus might grant them just a shred of dignity. So, with that in mind, rest in peace Mary “Polly” Ann Nicols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddows, and Mary Jane Kelly!
Wow this music is what I'm looking for! Can I use it on my video documental channel?? Of course I will give you the credits on video description!
Thank you, Bruno! Sure, go ahead.
Thank you 😀@@restforthewicked6842

So good!! I'd like to know how do you do these soundtracks
Thank you so much, João! What exactly do you want to know?
@@restforthewicked6842 Like how's the process, where do you get the sounds and stuff :)
@@joaomartins4621 I have access to many terabytes of sounds, samples and virtual instruments and process them with all kinds of effects, mainly delay and reverb. Then I cross my fingers and hope that as many people as possible like the result;-)
@@restforthewicked6842 Aaaaaah ok, that's cool! Thank you and keep working, you're amazing 😁✨
Wow, I am putting together a Halloween episode of my podcast all about Jack the Ripper. I'd love to use this as my background music, and give you a credit in the show notes? Would that be possible?
Sure! Thanks for watching!

Thanks, I‘m glad you like it!
I really hope someone tries to find this again and just types in "Whitechapel music." And gets quite the surprise.
Hope in a good way. Thanks for watching!
Hello !
Is it possible to use your music for Twitch ?
Thanks !
Thanks for asking. Yes that’s possible.
@@restforthewicked6842 Thank you !
"I keep on hearing the police caught me but they won't fix me just yet. I have laughed when they look so clever and talk about being on the right track. That joke about Leather Apron gave me real fits. I am down on whores and I shant quit ripping them till I do get buckled. Grand work the last job was. I gave the lady no time to squeal. How can they catch me now. I love my work and I want to start again. You will soon hear me with my funny little games. I saved some from the propper red stuff in a ginger beer bottle over the last job to write with but it went thick like glue and I can't use it. Red ink is fit enough I hope. Ha. Ha. The next job I do I shall clip the ladys ears off and send it to the police officers just for jolly, wouldn't you.
Yours trully,
Jack The Ripper"
From Hell
can I use the soundtrack freely?
Hi, feel free to use the music for your CZcams videos.

amazing how about have some shoe sounds on the cobbles
I'm afraid it's too late for that;-) Thanks for watching!
Does anyone know who the woman is in the thumbnail? Or is it computer generated.
I'm writing a novel about Jack the Ripper and honestly, this ambience is very atmospheric and even a little creepy to write to. I don't even know how many times I've re-listened this record, it's definitely one of my favourites) thank you!
Very glad to hear that! Thank you very much and happy writing!
Jack the ripper was nothing compared to The Great Ted Bundy or Gary Ridgway, Joel Rifkin, Arthur Shawcross, Richard Ramirez, and Bill Clinton, Pedro Lopez and many more.
the great?
Amazing work! What’s ur email?

Your too kind, Daniel! Thank you so much!
