  • In this video I show you a way in which a broken strap can be repaired. Many good deals on vintage handbags can be had online and this may be an easy way to make the repair yourself. I hope you will find this helpful and that you may adapt the process to your own project. With all the necessary tools, I was able to accomplish this task in about three hours or else. Please share you comments and constructive ideas. Thank you for watching!

    I just used crazy glue and glued the torn pieces together again. It worked perfectly, and the glue dried invisibly.

    But how did you remove the rivet and get the back/inside piece out? Isn't the back piece between the leather inside and canvas?

      I took it apart by pushing plyers in between against both sides.

      Please let me correct..two thin connecting straps came undone. Also stain inside but NOT on outside. Finally paid $1300 but one gold circle seems a bit off color. Can you please help me and provide estimate? Purse is in good shape otherwise. Thanks SO much Debbie

    How did you remove the rivet? Was it originally sewn in the interior lining?

    • @pariscraze6502
      @pariscraze6502  Před 3 lety +2

      I used plyers to do that. It takes some patience not to break them in order to reuse them.

      The rivet is two pieces that are pressed against each other. You can squeeze plyers in between to push the ends apart. They are not sewn on the inside.

      Hello,
      As long as it doesn't get damaged, I can be reused.

    What type of leather did you use?

    • @pariscraze6502
      @pariscraze6502  Před 2 lety

      The leather was a cowhide kit from the craft store, but I often repurpose leather from used handbags.
