      The title is referring to the vehicle name. The 5 refers to the size of the LARC. There were three models LARC 5, LARC 15 and LARC 60 more correctly referred to using Roman Numerals LARC V, LARC XV and LARC LX.
      LARC is an acronym for Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo and later Lighter Amphibious Rescue Craft.
      Most of these vehicles were operated by the Army while a few were with the Navy and even fewer with the other services.

      rva1945 No. The propellor is disengaged when the road wheels are in use.
