  • In 1980, Australian violinist Jon Rose began curating marathon concerts that require him to perform non-stop for over twelve hours at relentlessly high speeds "to test the effects of fatigue on music" (amongst other things). "I've had a long-term fascination with the connection between sports and music," Jon explains. "Most of my instruments are designed to be performed in dangerous environments such as surf, or violent storms. So are my marathon concerts." One ended in an altercation with Sydney Opera House security, as can be seen in this brief clip of unused footage from production of Steve Elkins' feature documentary THE REACH OF RESONANCE (2010).
