I love how he pays homage to his late babysitter by slamming that sandwich down "because it was too damn perfect" nostalgia is a beautiful bitter sweet feeling
My mom would make egg and refried bean tortas with some queso fresco as a kid when we were poor. To this day, I still make it and just tastes amazing. Childhood Nostalgia food always smack
@@MaddaTheApache honestly yah man. As a kid I lived and loved this dish. Ironically my mom only made it when she could barely afford food. But still fire
Chips on a sandwich is a classic. My go-to as a kid was PB&J with potato chips in the middle. Never cared for Lays on their own, but like that they were absolutely delicious.
Yeah lays only place is on a sandwich for me. I can't imagine a PBJ with potato chips. I should make one and have my daughter try it as a test subject lol.
My mother grew up in the 70's and she always says it was the best time. That and the music. I didn't really get into music from the 70's until a few years ago, but I see why she says the 70's had the best music.
I am definitely gonna try this. I’ve always kept my childhood meals. I would eat mashed potato bread sandwiches, I ate the weirdest stuff. Also Velveeta and salami sandwich and then microwave it for 30 seconds. Delicious
I remember the very first time I ever 👀 Robin Williams did anything he was on back in the early 1970s on Rowan and Martins Laugh In TV 📺 show , never knowing then how very famous he would become. I never knew he was on the Carol Burnett show that was like finding an antique it was awesome.
I love lays potato chips sandwiches!!just some lays crushed between 2 pieces of bread . Sometimes I get fancy and use sour cream and onion chips lol for extra flavor
I grew up in the same time frame, Dingo, and the way I transported myself back in time was by listening to music from before my time. I'm almost 36 now and I think I know more about the 70's and 80's than I do of my own generation, lol.
Wow man what a time, and what a treat man. Those were greater days for sure, you could trust people to watch your kids, and it was always fun to make your own styled sandwiches.
I've always seemed to enjoy classic sandwiches of the 70s, learned this from James May and his non car related sandwich show. Might give this a try as I love fried egg sandwiches, and chips on regular sandwiches, so it's gotta be a win win.
Gotta love the 70s. In school we'd put fritos or whatever we had on our PBJ. Mmm .... well at the time lol. It wasn't until the late 80s my ex introduced me to the egg Sammy but ours was egg n cheese on the fancy new seeded hamburger bun toasted with butter. Not bad. Ok now im hungry for what's now a no longer cheap sammich.
You just keep showing me things I never thought of. The fried egg sandwich, made almost that exact same way, is like... my childhood favorite breakfast. But putting some chippies on it, that's a nice touch. I think I'd go with Spicier Nacho, but Taco is a good choice too.
The 70s were amazing! You know, there were gas shortages and bad financial times thst we forgot. We remmber the good times man. We still had fun, even though the there were issues much like today with inflation and high gas prices etc.
Aw dude chips on a sandwich is awesome any time man not just the 70s. Me and my dad used to and I still do we used to eat bologna with cheese sweet pickles mayo a little blackpepper and chip ssandwiches. Uummm soooo good brings back memories.
Right? I had to google this and see what other flavors they had. Apparently Taco (1967) was their second flavor, after Toasted Corn (1966), and then came Nacho Cheese (1972), Sour Cream & Onion (late 1970s), Sesame Seed (late 1970s), and then finally Cool Ranch (1986).
I like my egg sandwiches pretty simple too. Fried with the yolk runny, a little salt and pepper, a slice of whatever cheese I have on hand, yellow mustard on toasted white bread. Can't beat it.
Old school taco flavor, they make good nachos with olives cheese, meat if ya want and dip in sour cream either plain or mix with some taco sauce and guacamole or avocado... such a weird combination sandwich but it works
I only ever ate fried egg sandwiches at my babysitter's. Untill I figured out how to make them. They were just fried hard and put on plain white bread, but they were still magical!
This man is too wholesome, we don’t deserve him but we need him
Speak for yourself!
Excellent story telling
Those childhood meals just hit different
for real
Man the 70’s were really a special time
Wouldn't knnow😐
A very drug fueled decade that's for sure
Everyone from every era says that about their era.

The 70’s WERE amazing. Such a simple and fun time to grow up. That egg sammich looks so dang good!!🧡

Best chef on CZcams. He should be more famous
Best music too 🎵🎶

Nothing beats a homestyle fried egg sammy
Damn that dorito bag he brought out from the 80s 😂
One of the best Doritos flavors available
That's the original look, I think. They just brought it back for a retro vibe, I think
@@jellysqueem Yes, that's how the taco flavor bag looked.
Oh, phew! I thought this strain I just smoked took me back in time.

Boloney, American cheese, Mayo, mustard, pickle and a layer of lays samich. 😋

Bologna or ham. Lettuce, tomato, cheese, and onion are nice. But sometimes just cheese and Doritos is what's right.

Yes...for me tomato sandwich, white bread with mayo. Or a lettuce, mustard & processed cheese slices on white bread. Memories.
Hay hay.....loved tomato and mayo... nobody had money back then...whole country laid-off.....lol...still as a kid we had great times.
Kevmo the most wholesome man in the utube cooking game period.
Love these vids ❤
The 70’s were amazing!
When I was a kid I thought I was the only one that created the fried egg sandwich, it's great to see this variation and it looks great!
Your voice is so soothing. Please narrate an audiobook!
You always brighten my day Kevmo 😊
I am definitely gonna try this. I’ve always kept my childhood meals. I would eat mashed potato bread sandwiches, I ate the weirdest stuff. Also Velveeta and salami sandwich and then microwave it for 30 seconds. Delicious
Those aint weird meals
You should try this, had it today it's delicious. The Doritos go so well with the egg
ayoo, a mashed potato sandwich sound pretty good to me
As a 90's baby, fried egg sandwiches bring me right back to my childhood as well! Love this Kev!
My favorite decade is the 1970s, the greatest decade, such as great music and TV shows.

I was definitely stoked when they brought back the taco Doritos. Childhood memories
This was my Grandpa favorite snack, minus the chips but it’s also a childhood memory too
It’s always the little things from our childhoods that made them so special
The 1970s were certainly unique. Thank you for sharing the recipes. you are amazing.

Yum! My grandma used to make them with scrambled eggs and a little mayo on soft bread. No taco Doritos though. I want to try that now
Killing these shorts man they have a great vibe to them!!!
Great timing, thanks! Was just telling my colleagues 20 mins ago I'm all out of ideas for school lunches. I'll get at least a week out of this! :)
The 70's truly were amazing. Looking back I'm missing them
I’m trying this tomorrow! Thanks Kev 🤙🏾
I do feel I missed out on the 70s sometimes. I grew up in the late 90s/ 2000s.

Such a heartwarming story...
I had a babysitter that would make grilled cheese sandwiches in her waffle iron with Colby cheese and it was so good. I loved the ridges in the bread.
You already had me 💯 with just the sweet egg sandwich story.. then BAM you hit me with the throw back doritos and the feels just started to seethe lol

That idea I may have to try.
Thanks for the tip.
The 70s were a wild time! Go get yourself a cookbook from the 70s and get a tiny sliver of what it was like.
I still eat those egg sandwiches, fantastic on a baguette
Chips on a sandwich is clean livin. Cheers unc
