IT IS SO FREAKING RARE to have someone so stunning(,I mean look at her,she is by far the most beautiful girl i've ever seen),drop dead gorgeous,SO EXTREMELY TALANTED,and at the same time so sweet,kind and humble.She really does have the whole package.She doesn't need to take her clothes off on stage and act prooctivately like so many artists do today in order to get noticed.FANTASTIC ROLE MODEL,I love her,she really is unique.

When you think of the X Factor, you instantly think of Leona. She made the show what it was. There was no one anywhere near as talented as her before her, and she took the show to a whole new level.

Leona is a national treasure!! I think Summertime was her breakthrough moment, blew everyone away. Leona still conducts herself just as admirably all these years later, it is so nice when fame and fortune doesn't change somebody for the worse.

I been listening to Leona for almost a decade but I only recently found out that she was discovered from The X Factor. I was so shocked that she wasn't discovered on her own. She's simply amazing with the most humble personality. I LOVE her. No one can touch her. I hope she can pour out more singles like she did when she first came out.
She's the reason I started singing and I can relate to her so much with my shyness. In my opinion, she always sings every song exceptionally well but Summertime and Over the Rainbow are her best ones. Always gives me goosebumps and makes me emotional as I remember seeing her on the TV too and saw her on her journey. 😍😭

The thing with Leona is not only the fact she got a beautiful voice, i believe her (vocal) strength is the fact she uses her voice as an instrument to to share what's living inside her heart.

This girl delivered spectacular performances week after week, and yet, Simon was the only one who gave her standing ovations. Shame on the other two judges for sitting on their hands as Leona continually brought down the house.
The best singer of all time from X factor to AGT. My unbiased opinion - Unbelievable vocals even to this day. I have heard so much talent in the years; that i stick with this comment.

Week after week after week, she nailed it. She was truly flawless. So talented, so beautiful.
The audience were fantastic.
The Duchess of Muanenguba I personally think Matt is the best contestant X Factor has seen, purely from a standpoint of that he can literally sing anything. He sang some very different music, but always nailed it. But ofcourse Leona has the better voice and she had the better career.

I absolutely disagree with you both! --- Leona is versatile enough, but It's not about what you can sing, it's about how good you can sing.
Matt didn't nail it week after week, like The Duchess of Muanenguba said, and get a complete clean sweep from all the judges. He didn't get standing ovations that went on for ever, and he didn't create the buzz among record labels producers, critics, fellow artists, and lovers of the best in musical talent like this girl did. And it wasn't him that actually saved the show from being axed - period !!!
+TheTruthTheRhyme AndTheReason Every liveshow you couldn't really hear what the judges said. And Leona got the applause because of the typical great voice with high notes. Like, there s a diff between nailing every song week after week. And having certain dull performances filled with showboating cause you have the voice. Her first couple weeks were nothing special imo. And two of the judges had some criticism.
Her performance of "The first cut is the deepest." imo was very dull, with abit of showboating later on in the song. Just because you have a great voice, doesn't mean you're nailing the song.

What do you mean you couldn't really hear what the Judges said, You could hear that they thought she was nailing it week after week!
And even though there was some criticism in the first performance mostly from Louis, about over-singing (which I admit she went overboard with the yeah, yeah, yeah's), as Simon said, nerves were kicking in as it was the first time she had sung before an audience like that, and she was just starting to learn her craft. Point is overall it was still a good performance and the best of the night. And audiences don't give applause just because of high notes. She got the applause because her tone is superb, she has her own unique style with inflections on the end of notes that add a feminine touch to her vocal, her control of vibrato is sublime, and she's got a pair of pipes on her that can belt out a note but with that smooth tone (although she was a bit more pitchy in the beginning - like I said, learning her craft, finding her vocal range).
As I said her first one wasn't as polished as should've been and I agree that the first 2 weren't as good as the others, but they were still good. NONE OF HER PERFORMANCES WERE DULL,....... AND AS FOR SHOWBOATING.....YOU MAD BRO???? Were you not paying attention to how humble this girl was. Do you really think someone like that is even capable of showboating ??????
So let's keep score then. How many weeks Did Matt Cardel get clean sweeps from the judges?

OK, I came here to see the birth of a superstar, and leave a tribute, but instead I see all the usual negative comments and comparisons. Let me make it real simple people - as far as I'm aware, *no-one else has got a clean sweep of the judges with absolutely no criticisms* (a few bit's of advice only) *for every single performance, on X-factor or any other talent show - period. And no talent show winner has gone on to have the most successful single of the year worldwide, and a debut album enter the American charts at number 1*. So, stop all this X is better than Leona crap and pay your respects!!!!!

This is incritable, she was outstanding, and the thing is there has never been anyone on this show like her even to this day, usually they are okay and hit a peek, or they start off great in the bigginning of the season but fall back later on they start too slip well that is not what happened with Leona lewuis, she walked in great but she only got better and better week by week, she was out of the league. One of the best singers across any tv talent show!!

I have to add, I recently got the privilege of seeing Leona Lewis in Cardiff, where, unfortunately, she lost her voice towards the end of the concert due to having a cold. I think she is a world-class performer but also, indubitably, genuinely down-to-earth and modest and a lovely person, both in appearance and personality. If by any chance she's reading this, which I don't suppose she is, I just want to stress that she shouldn't feel bad for losing her voice, it can happen to the most experienced and superior of performers, which she is, and I hope she takes some comfort and solace from that because at the time she was quite upset. In person, she is just as nice and humble as she appears on this video, the fame certainly hasn't gone to her head. I wish her all the best and hope her voice recovers soon, if it hasn't already.

I don't believe she's underrated, just the music industry nowadays...I will always and forever remember her along with Adele...their songs helped me get through my depressions back in the days, specifically Leona's (Spirit and Echo) album...they moved me in so many ways... I miss them so much ❤️
