    I hope all that find their way to a diagnosis also find their way to a cure. Fifty years and counting for me, and it has gotten progressively worse. I have seen multiple specialists in multiple disciplines, multiple scans, multiple meds - all useless, negative, and useless. Overlap with recurring BPPV, cervical vertigo, vestibular neuritis, visual stress, dyslexia, etc. Run over by car when I was four and fractured my skull... best of luck to you all.

    I have been digging your videos. Until the point where you put up the stripes and triggered my VM . WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? I guess this confirms my speculation that doctors just do not understand.

    I am waiting to see a Neurologist in Copenhagen (I'm from the US but live in DK) but I am 99% sure in myself that my symptoms are Vestibular Migraine. My main symptom is constant dizzyness & imbalance, sensitivity to light & sound, & others. My GP has prescribed me an Antihistamine, can this be effective in treating dizziness & imbalance?

    My wife starts out with a migraine and it goes into the room spinning then she blacks out. When she comes back she will twitch 3 times and then she wakes up. Doctors have not been able to tell us what is wrong please help.

    Anyone been diagnosed with Binocular Vision Disorder and prism lenses not helped much? BVD symptoms and vestibular migraine is extremely similar. I still get bad light sensitivity and feel off balance or lightheaded which causes bad panic attacks. Haven't been able to drive. Just found out about VM and wondering if anyone can help when there is also vision dysfunction? 🙏❤️

    • @AwkoTurtle
      @AwkoTurtle Před 8 měsíci

      I’ve also had vision problems for the past four years. Trouble with lights,eye fatigue with glares or reading, difficulty driving or watching/playing anything involving fast paced moving objects. Prisms helped a little bit. Can tolerate the dizziness a bit more and that has helped with the light sensitivity. It hasn’t completely resolved my issues though. Still having a rough time doing day to day tasks like grocery shopping. Also have dysautonomia which makes me tired all the time and have palpitations and blood pressure fluctuations. My visual symptoms are always present so I feel like it’s not just a vestibular migraine but the doctors keep saying it’s vestibular migraine

      @@AwkoTurtle So sorry you are going through it too! That's exactly how my symptoms are. Are you being treated for the Dysautonomia with medication? All of my medical doctors have no answers and just referred me to psychiatry bc they didn't believe me. So frustrating! 🙏

      @@k2c26 my cardiologist basically just said drink water eat more salt and that was it. Propranolol helped w some of the POTS symptoms but affected my sleep quality so got off of it. Neurologist wants to keep trying different medications but I have had bad side effects from some of the ones she recommended so I’ve been hesitant to try more medications😞 going to try a CGRP inhibitor next and maybe botox too

    • @AwkoTurtle
      @AwkoTurtle Před 8 měsíci

      @@k2c26 it’s really disheartening when most doctors dismiss your symptoms and your struggles… you have to wait and wait to finally see a specialist but to them, you’re just one of the many patients they have to “get through” for the day. Sorry you’re going through this but I hope you know that you’re not alone in this battle!

    I have constant pressure in my head and my left ear feels clogged. I went to an ent and he doesn't think it's my ear causing my issues.
    My doctor thinks I may have vestibular migraine so put me on 10 mg of amitriptyline. Is that the recommended medication for this?

    • @Stanley_Ellis
      @Stanley_Ellis Před 3 lety

      It is an antidepressant, which will give you some side effects like all of them do. Yes, it is often prescribed for VM. VM is hell and no one really understands it. Wish you the best. Valium is what works best for me.

I have tried the following without success; Flunarazine, Topiramate and all antidepressants. The only things that cutis the dizziness & nausea is Valium. My quesitos is; Being 56 yo. and having this poor quality of life, can I take a punctual valium everytime I experience dizziness? Note: I do not get vertigo because nothing spins a round me, it is just feeling dizzy, fainty and nauseous. Thank you Doctor.

    Hello Doctor, this is Chakri from IL, USA. I have been to so many doctors and all my results including my MRI came clear. My ENT audiologist did lots of tests like looking at colors, dot and so on and especially this coloric testing by passing hot and cold air and said that I have VM even though that test came back normal. Is it possible to have VM even if coloric testing came back normal? I am very confused Doctor. Pls help. Also, I have this constant head pressure especially when it becomes hot outside and crazy anxiety. Do you think I need to take VRT? Appreciate your help!!

    • @8QQ8
      @8QQ8 Před 4 lety +3

      Yes. I’m not a doctor but as far as i know if your caloric test is normal it means your dizziness isn’t coming from your inner ears. So it indicates that you are more likely having Vestibular Migraine.

    • @aurora7474
      @aurora7474 Před 4 lety +2

      If your caloric test was normal, it is likely you have VM. I have had VM 19 years and my caloric tests are always normal.

      @@mv8908 hi, I am not really to any doctor. I still get weather triggered migraines. They are not really headaches but when it happens I see changes in my vision a little bit, head pressure, noise and light sensitive and anxious. So, I am actually just managing it. I don’t want to take medications or anti depressants. It might work but I wanted to try naturopathy first. Hope this helps. What was your symptoms may I ask? Hope you feel better soon.
