Bob Dylan - Mr. Tambourine Man [Live in London, 1965]

- This was recorded at Royal Albert Hall in London on May 9, 1965, which was his second to last show of his tour of England, famously documented by DA Pennebaker in his documentary "Don't Look Back". The beginning of the video features a hilarious hotel scene that I've never seen before. To my knowledge, none of this footage has been in circulation before, so we're one of the first handful of people to see it. Because of that, I think Peter Stone Brown's upload is one of the most significant Dylan discoveries of the year.
All I've done to the original upload is sharpened the image, adjusted the lighting, and increased the volume. High-quality soundboard recordings from this tour were kept for the making of the documentary and subsequently released as part of the Cutting Edge: Collector's Edition in 2015. Interestingly, though, the first half of this show was replaced by an audience recording, which means that a soundboard tape was likely not made in the first place. This makes sense since the audio in this footage sounds like it's coming through the concert hall's monitors. So, the sound quality here will not be as good as videos where I've overdubbed the soundboard tapes, like the one in the following link (which also happens to be the only other known footage of Dylan performing Mr. Tambourine Man in 1965): • Bob Dylan - Mr. Tambou... . Still, it's fantastic to hear what the audience would've heard, and Royal Albert Hall makes some haunting reverb.
Thank you, Mr. Pennebaker, for having your sound recordist tape such a historical moment.
Love & Peace,
~SP

Been listening to Dylan for a lifetime. No other compares.
More people need to listen to Bob Dylan. Thanks for posting SP.
I love the resonance in his voice!
I can never get bored of this most creative ,full of beatifulness song .. 🤗
Bobby is beyond compare.. just a guitar & harmonica he is spellbinding.
My 43 year old father, in 1965, fell in love with this song, in spite of Bob's raucous voice!
I am now 74, and my father died 8n 2005. I hope he followed the tambourine to his final destination.
Wow what an impeccable sound! I have never heard Mr Tambourine Man like this! It sounds a cappella at the start Bob’s vocals are so clear and strong with great reverb! I also love the little comedic clip at the beginning of this; the laughter is infectious! Thanks so much 𝕊𝕨𝕚𝕟𝕘𝕚𝕟𝕘 𓃟 and Peter Stone as well! ✨🤍✨
And thank YOU! I actually discovered Peter Stone's original upload after you posted it on FB :)
@@SwinginPig That is great! 😄
Just amazing spooky brilliance that nobody will ever match genius. And decades later he does it again with really good friends the Wilburys I believe it's so spiritual that they all came together 💎
I love the live performances of Mr Tambourine Man. His singing and harmonica playing in that song specifically stands out compared to other songs of his in my opinion.
Agreed. That, It's Alright Ma and Love Minus Zero are his strongest live songs from this period, in my opinion.
Swingin’ Pig agreed. Insane that he can remember all those lyrics to Its Alright Ma!
The boom of his voice from the mic is mezmerising.
I’m really love he’s voice ❤️
What a cute beginning clip 🥰 and great performance at RAH. Thank you SP
And in many , many yrs to come, people will still be listening to Zimmie , and watching this tape. And maybe thanking Swinging Pig ?

Incredible!!! Hoping somebody can help me find a bob song,he says "the only good N (n word) is a dead one",I am fairly certain that is the line sung,i have all of bob's music (official and bootleg) and cannot find it!!it's probably no later than 1962, i figured a quick google search will solve this for me, google let me down,i'm 99% sure it's Bob,your help would be greatly appreciated.
...this machine kills fascists...
@Swingin'
Pig I would appreciate it if you would *remove me from your share function*. I am no longer a fan of Dylan. I have heard this music when both he and it was relevant. It no longer is and he is a completely different person than he once was. Not an outsider. He now inhabits the character of one of his songs: Mr Jones,
and shills in advertisements for corporations with his brand. Thanks for listening.
I hear ya. Feel free to unsubscribe. There is no "share function" from my end. It's up to you to unsubscribe. Hope this helps.
@Swingin'Pig Thanks. The problem for me is that I am not subscribed but still receive your videos.
