It's more epic cause it just feels like an anime at that point, and I love it. It helps that it just feels as natural in Japanese as in English since Jedi are inspired by Samurai

German one feels like medieval star wars
The German dub is spoken well, because German VA's usually are pretty damn good, but a lot of the stuff especially in the newer productions from Disney got butchered name wise, because they somehow feel compelled to translate shit into German, instead of just using the in universe names.

Part of it comes form the fact that voice acting in Japan is on another level like it's not rare that stage singers are working as actors as well, and there is a general requirement that they should be able to sing for the purpose of opening ending or character songs attached to Blu-ray.

I love hunter voice in japanese
It kinda sounds like the japanese voice for Snake, from the Metal Gear games. In a way, Hunter is quite like Solid Snake in a few ways.
I will never be able to unhear german Anakin and Sam Winchester sharing a voice.
I recall how he sounded a little bit, but not quite. It's been 8 years.

Also, the slight disconnect between when you don't know the (spoken) language is similar to "not seeing the monster"; it let's the brain fill in a little of the cracks

In French, most of the main characters are voiced by the same actors who played them in the films. I find it great in terms of continuity. On top of that, the tone still changes between live-action and animation, which is nice to hear
Fun fact: Ziro the Hutt was voiced by Ryusei Nakao, the original voice of Frieza.
I love how here in the Hungarian dub, the voice actors for the animated series are the same as in the movies

The german clone voice is very epic. I remember the first appearance of Boba Fett in the Mandalorian. I watched the scene two times, in German and in English

I, can't really agree because Ashoka's actress just, makes her sound more like a normal teens there's no gruff in there from her time at war, she doesn't change the tone either even when she's supposed to be possessed. My preference will still with English

Iâm not a big fan of how the Clones sound in the Japanese dub since they sounded rough. But the others especially Ahsoka and Anakin are great.
Given that George Lucas and Dave Filoni take a lot of inspiration from Japanese culture and Akira Kurosawa, this makes the experience more epic. Now what if someone were to watch a Japanese dub of the 2D Clone Wars micro-series made by Genndy Tartakovsky-creator of Samurai Jack?
As someone who doesn't watch Anime, I really think the only reason some may find this more epic is because it feels more like an Anime.
Personally, this scene falls flat for me without the English version voice actors. The English voice actors really do an amazing job.

If you search CZcams for "star wars clone wars Japanese," these 3 clips that are the first to show up. All are uploaded by smaller creators who haven't been given any credit, but I bet this guy never went to the effort of recording his own clips based on their inspiration. And to act like he went out of his way to watch it himself im Japanese is embarrassing. Easy clicks, easy money on the content farm...

Someone I know made an edit of the final arc of the clone wars combined with episode 3, in Japanese dub (with english subtitles), in black and white, with a film grain effect and audio crunching. His goal was to try and evoke the feeling of the old Akira Kurosawa films, and it actually really works. When you watch it this way, Maul in particular really feels like a 50s-era Samurai villain.

Those voices fit really well
A lot, if not all characters are voiced by Anime VAs, which probably helps add the anime feel. Its way better than the marvel film where they use half Anime VAs and helf regular actor/comedians to do the japanese dub. Its a total mess where helf of the characters sound over the top, while the other helf sound tone deaf.
Imagine the Clone Wars series being converted into an anime with a Japanese dub.
So they used Sarada for Ahsoka⊠love it!

I often have a moment of consternation when some in reviews of animated films and series there is excitement that a big star is a dubbing actor. Sometimes my reaction is: What, was it really that actor? I did not recognize. Oh right, It was in english version.
For example, identifying Kung Fu Panda with Jack Black? Nah, I don't feel it.
I watched the clone wars in german and I gotta say i did really like it some voices are better in eng but I only have good memorys especially since back than it was a way better time
