This anime was so good, it was like extremely emotional too... it was almost depressing the life that Gabriel lived after his band separated... and all the last minute things that happen are so amazing T_T
Hydeist117160 I totally understand. This may be my favorite scene in all the anime I've ever watched. Not to say this is the greatest anime, but the emotion and raw feeling they were able to lead up to this point with and achieve is amazing.
My favorite scene in the whole show was when his wife showed up in her punk outfit that she'd apparently held onto for the last 6 years despite telling Oji the whole time that he needed to get rid of his guitars and forget about being a musician. It recontextualizes her whole character - she wasn't just trying to make Oji "grow up," she was doing it for herself because she missed being a rock star's girlfriend but felt like she had to give it up to be a good wife and mother. That moment is when she realized she doesn't HAVE to give up her love of rock, and now she can share it with her son as long as he understands the possible risks that come with it.
As a musician and an anime fan - this whole series spoke to me. Loved this scene but nothing tops when they play let you go, let me go at the end of episode 13
Jesus... this was one of the first amines I ever saw back on the Air Force Network when I was deployed to S. Korea a little over 20 years ago. Right up there with Samurai X (Ruroni IKenshin), Cooking Master Boy, and I think Magical Knight Rayearth.
i remember when i watch this like in 2005, almost 7 years, thank god AXN broad-casted this anime to me, and this is really the best anime i've ever seen in my life...
the aliens defending Earth have a sterile, almost joyless culture. The emotional energy the band creates powers their ultimate weapon, which they built without knowing how to power it.
Unfortunately the rights are a big issue. It was distributed in the US by Geneon. Their US branch went out of business shortly after the DVD release internationally. I actually managed to find a copy of the complete series shortly afterward, and the guy selling it even cut me a deal because of how much I was gushing over it.
It's been how many years? I watched this when I was a little kid on AxN (without my parents knowing, I REMEMBER THAT very clearly. :)))))) and now that I'm hearing this and watching this again at 19 years old I feel shivers all over my spine.
OMG I’ve been looking for this for SO LONG. I’ve watched it when I was still in middle school or something and I’ve forgotten what the title of the anime was. All I could remember is the main tune of that piece they’re playing 😭 I just want to listen to it again and I’m glad I found it
@@grimaper That’s so cool! And thank you for sharing this! 😭 you have no idea how many trial and errors I’ve attempted with the keyword just to find this hahaha 😂
@AkodoYuru Well Alrighty then, Thank you for your information. Haven't seen this anime since it came out and I had forgotten about the song name. Thanks again.
yeah me too it's like more than meets the eye. I think this scene right here is basically saying that you can count on people to be with you during hard times especially your friends. Just out of curiosity what language did you see this in?
watched this on AXN back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
bob donkey lol yeah it's been awhile for me too.
after xxx years...i heard this music again...childhood
I feel old now..
damn, nostalgia hits hard
Thought I was the only one 😂
This fucking show made me fall in love with four middle-aged Japanese men.
As an older musician working a job and trying to still make music, this really hits very differently.

dude unintentionally lured the enemy into a single line, well played.
Those moans tho. I never realized as a child when i first saw this. HAHAHA
They defeated enemy and gave her orgasm same time
i saw this series 9 years ago and it still gives me the shivers! hahaha
i hope someone will remaster this anime.
Stephen Coquilla me too man me too.
No, just give it another run on a network. No remastering or remaking. It is perfect the way it is
@@SantomPh Crisper animation with widescreen support... would buy a DVD or Blu-Ray set of that on the spot.
@@ZeroGForce it is fine the way it is. Anime never ages. A widescreen aspect option would be nice tho
Well I have news
Discotek has picked it up for a blu-ray remaster

Saw this scene last night, got goosebumps. This was on AXN a long while back. Ah memories.
Episode 10 had the funniest scene but the ending on episode 13 makes the whole anime, ROCK ON BLACK HEAVEN!
You just cannot hate the music they play, it just is rock, its true rock from the heart to the soul, so rock and roll on black heaven!
HARD ROCK SAVE SPACE!!!
Black heaven was an amazing series! one of the best in my book
I SWEAR TO GOD, I THOUGHT THIS WAS JUST A FEVER DREAM!
Greatest anime of all time.
you are the greatest anime of all time.
Definitely one of them! Totally under appreciated!
Hell yeah and I'll be your bassist and say "HEY GABRIEL."
Hey that's my dream
Pretty much. There's something in the band Black Heaven's "sound" that causes the amazing power surge that powers the cannon.

@@SantomPh
They're actually defending their own homeworld, but Earth would likely be next since the invaders know where the sound is coming from.
yeah that's it in a nut shell. It is called Legend of Black Heaven.
So this is a show about wars fought in space using superweapons powered by middle-aged salarymen rocking out?
What is the name of this show?
The Legend of Black Heaven / Kacho Ojii. Most of the time it is just Oji though
oji the section chief
i think every1 who love rock and roll will LOVE IT (in my opinion) its one of the best soundtrack from anime ;)
Hard rock save the universe!
Thumbs this up if you got goosebumps when you watched this.
Damn i'd really hope AXN would re-broadcast this anime again.
I live for moments like these. :D
Thanks i'd really appreciate it. Been lookin for one forever.

Finally I could see the last episode today in japanese!
Cautionary Warning by Blue Murder, with lead guitarist John Syke!
thank you stalin
John Sikes is the man.
Hell yeah Black Heaven. So wish there was a proper blu-ray release for this now. Awesome series, nearly forgotten by today's fans.

@OtakuUnitedStudio it has a proper bluray release now ^^
This anime helped me get back into my love for rock and roll
Everyone's gotta grow up, get a job, put on the tie, but you never lose the metal.
I knew this show was old but i didn't know it was that old. I guess you do learn something everyday.
I love this anime!!!
hell YES! freakin amazing show.
I would totally waste 1 of my 3 Genie wishes to remake this series with all the love we have for it
An alien super weapon powered by a guitar? The TRUE power of The Metal!
Yeah I love this show.
someones gotta rip and clean and loop this version of the song cause it rocks, why was this not on the ost!?
It's been how many years? I watched this when I was a little kid on AxN (without my parents knowing, I REMEMBER THAT very clearly. :)))))) and now that I'm hearing this and watching this again at 19 years old I feel shivers all over my spine.
It came out in 2000
Yeah when I seen it I was like "hell Yeah!"
If you paint to please you paint nothing.

I LOVE THIS!!!

@@chrypco haha you're welcome I think we've all been there with certain things lol
@zoidsmaniac haha me too dude, I can't even begin to imagine how badass he must've felt when his bandmates showed up.
If Netflix decides to adapt this and cast Jack Black and KG my life will be complete.
@Robert Cote Keanu as Fomalhaut would be better. And Taylor Swift as Layla. Cobie Smulders as Hamill, and Yolandi as Yoshiko, That'll work!
Best episode in the anime!
this anime rocks!!
Still watching nov 2020
never needed something so much in my life...
Yooo I seen this anime back in the day holy shit! It was on a channel I think 22 or 25 but yes I remember
Ahh raphael, your voice still makes me chuckle
you should dude it's really good but short i think 13 episodes and hell yeah this scene is made of extra win with epicness sprinkled on top of it.
i wasnt aware there was an enlish dub out. thanks!

No problem man yeah this show kicks ass perhaps like one of the only animes that are unique.

I really wish the soundtrack had a track of just this song.//
hold on dude you're telling me they made an anime out of beck?
yeah me too it's like more than meets the eye. I think this scene right here is basically saying that you can count on people to be with you during hard times especially your friends. Just out of curiosity what language did you see this in?
