I’m guessing (actually expecting) Prime 2 & 3 HD being shadow dropped at the rumored direct month. If we do get those games announced, perhaps the slightest tease of Prime 4 could happen at the direct as well, but wouldn’t bet on it. I’m much more expecting it to be a showcase title when they finally unveil the Switch 2 (hopefully in March 🤞🏼). Very exciting times!

BROTHER, I feel ya. First and foremost, great Metroid coverage.
This upcoming release of Metroid Prime 4 has been accumulating to be the APEX of my entire life. No Joke.
At 5 years old (1990), I was introduced to the original (at day care), and was so in love with the universe, I would draw so many bounty hunters (wearing alternate armor suit designs) that could team up with Samus: a brother, father, a sister. Now look at us.
Switch 2 is going to be my perfect console! 2024, Baby!

If Metroid Prime 4 could pull a Breath of the Wild crossgen launch title treatment, it will release on Next Gen Nintendo console. Highly doubt it! It will ever come out in 2024

Weirdly enough, the Indiana Jones reveal reminded me a LOT of Metroid Prime.
Looks more like a First Person "Adventure" game than an FPS, and showed off puzzles, platforming, exploration, hidden secrets, etc. that all gave me Prime vibes. You even had a grapple beam to use for traversal (the whip), while also showing how it moves to 3rd person for other moments (like the morph ball in Prime).
I'm still way more interested in Prime 4, but maybe this game will fill that niche until it finally arrives 😅

I absolutely did. It looks amazing!
Again I don't get on any forums, this is pretty much my only talk around Metroid I subscribe to. So I'm sure someone has noticed it. But, all through out ZDR in the background of the factory areas you can see bits and pieces of a giant mech being built. I believe Raven Beak's base could be the head but that is a bit of a stretch.
Would love to play 2 and 3 on the switch and 4 on the new hardware.

I cannot wait another day to play MP4 but I'm willing to wait as long as necessary to play a forever good game. Personally I'm hoping for a November 2024, don't know about the initial announcement day though (first Direct of the year maybe?).
I think we'll be getting Metroid Prime 2&3 as an upscaled twin pack, probably shadow dropped or releasing shortly after the February Direct. I can see Prime 4 being a October/November release, probably a month or so after the Switch 2 launch which I believe will launch with a new 3d Mario game.
It might be important to note that playtesting, especially with high-quality studios like the ones Nintendo owns, can be done _throughout_ development.
Obviously MP4 has been in dev for a long time now, but even games 2 years from release have to be tested, so the development teams are notified of bugs and glitches.
Imagine the single player campaign is what we’re all hoping for and then on top of that it has an upgraded version of the multiplayer from like Prime 2 and Hunters. Hard to believe it wouldn’t be a massive hit!
I personally really don't want to play Prime 4 on the Switch I want to play it on better next gen hardware

I'm sure someone has noticed but I just realized there is a somewhat subtle clue that the devs gave us as to Samus being thought of as a Metroid. In Dread on the back of her booster pack there are 3 spheres representing the Metroid. I had noticed them before now but hadn't given it a second thought. Now I can't recall if they are present on her suite in Fusion or Samus Returns. I doubt Samus Returns because at that time she wasn't but Mercury Steam did make that game so maybe. I'd have to go back and check.

Why would you not consider these rumors? I watched the original video and it seems like the very definition of a rumor. Credible rumors perhaps. But nobody has said anything officially

I'm guessing 4 is going to be a late 2025 release, I have a feeling that echoes will be a shadowdropped remaster with a trailer for 4 in February, then next year in February, we'll get a remaster of corruption and a better look at 4 plus the next switch. Again, I'm only guessing and I know nothing, I guessed dark samus was going to be a character in smash bros after I noticed the dark samus palette was removed from samus about a week or so after ridley and daisy were revealed. I was pleased that I was right about that
It makes the most sense to me. It's a nice flow of info and hype for the fans while being a good way to keep the growing interest and support.
Also, I'm gonna predict that the switch 2 will have backwards compatibility at least for the switch. I don't mind if I'm wrong about that, but, I'd hope I'm right
Imagine they launch Metroid Prime 4 on the 4th April 2024 basically 04/04/2024 or the 24th April 2024 24/04/2024 also I bought my Nintendo Switch originally for Metroid Prime 4 I also made my own fan made track for Metroid Prime 4 called Senepharus Caverns which I had actually sent to retro studios and Nintendo that I would be absolutely amazed if they use my track in the game that would be incredible

Well they might want to make more copies of the Metroid Prime Remaster for the Switch.
Several people have said my channel is Metroid Prime 4, it's actually Destiny 2 x Metroid.

Here's a theory. Maybe they had internally delayed the game to relate it more to Dread, possibly to integrate the Metroid form??

I can’t stress how important it is to have a pro controller ready for this game if you want to 100% the pickups. I can’t trust Nintendo on making quality base controllers for the next system due their cheap quality joy cons so they could sell their consoles at a profit.
I bet it's going to be a cross generation game like Twilight Princess and BotW. This seven year generation from Nintendo is actually quite impressive.

Nintendo probably forced that guy to take that down cause they don't want anything hinting at Prime 4 being revealed to the world yet. I thought it was bold of that guy to openly say publically he was play testing Prime 4....that seems like a big no no.
Some folks claiming Metroid Prime 4 is canceled are just being cautious. It's true we haven't heard any direct, official news from Nintendo in quite some time and that's disrespectful in my opinion. I'm thankful a fan uncovered this stuff but we should have to be investigators --it should be common sense for Nintendo to give updates every 2 years or so on an official platform of some kind of the state of their bigger games. A tiny bit of transparency would be appreciated.
You're the disrespectful one. They're working on the game, if it was cancelled then we would've likely heard something by now. They confirmed MP4 was in development when they announced MD, which is enough.
Im excited about metroid prime 4 but i never really felt it would come put on the switch. The switch has always been a pretty outdated product even on launch, so now in 2024, it just exacerbates the issues. I've always thought Nintendo should release prime 4 as a launch title for a new console, because it's actually a game that should be guven a spotlight.
In order for this to work, Nintendo needs to have it on a proper console with cloud gaming capabilities to utilise the switch as a second screen. Why? Because everyone else has something like this, but Nintendo can do it better. Prime 4 cpuld very well boost sales for a new console because imagine a new "FPS metroudvania from the game series that hasn't had a release in 15 years".
You can't underestimate the power of good advertising. Elden ring should not have been as popular as it got, but it did. You had millions of new players that never even touched a soulsborne game ever but they new the impact of the dark souls series on the gaming world. The hype around it was made from the impact of previous games. Great visuals, great music, great developer, all to capture as many eyes as possible and it worked. Streamers hyped it up, and the gaming community prepared themselves for a dream of a release. Pretty much everything involved created the perfect storm to have the game become a virl sensation in the gaming world.
No one cared about how hard the game was, they were having too much fun. Hardcore gamers and casuals alike came together to enjoy Elden Ring.
Elden Ring is proof that even older game developers can shine in the modern landscape. Prime 4 has the potential to rock the internet. It rocked the internet back in 2017 and it can do the same again. If prime 4 came out on a "switch 2" it will fail in reaching its potential.
The Switch is a great on the go console but its already its own thing. More hardcore gamers will gladly buy a new console even if nothing was really upgraded besides the screen (talking about oled version) but a new traditional console may very well still sell out.
A new Nintendo console, able to play current gen games while also offering Nintendo IP's the BEST visuals those characters have even been seen in? Sounds like a no brainer. DK games beung updated for 4k and to be resold, Twilight princess Remade for 4k! 3D mario in fantastic new graphics to really make the world POP! And Metroid... An atmospheric journey that can finally be experienced in the way it was meant to be experienced.
Switch 2 isn't something i imagine would be a thing. I don't believe it will be.

My thoughts:
I've said it many times before, but Nintendo releasing Prime 4 before giving us Prime 2 & 3 on Switch is a suicidal business decision.
They have to give us the other games first, especially with how good the Metroid Prime Remastered game is, how well it did critically, and how many newcomers played it. They set the bar incredibly high and giving us anything less than that for Prime 2 & 3 is shooting themselves in the foot. Not giving the fans Prime 2 & 3 denies the newcomers to the franchise the ability to play it.
I don't think Prime 4 is going to be a launch title that is exclusive to the Switch's successor. The franchise isn't a system seller and is too niche for that. It could be a cross--gen game, but I don't think they would do that either because anyone who owns a Switch probably won't buy it on the successor console.
I've been waiting for Prime 4 since 2007 like the rest of us. I was 13 or 14 when it came out. I'm 30 now. I will wait as long as I need to at this point, but I really REALLY hope that we get Prime 2 & 3 Remastered on Switch first.
Metroid Prime 2 & 3 will almost assuredly be released on the Switch (soonish) and be announced at the heavily rumored Direct next month. At this point, Prime 4 looks like it will be a cross gen game, but the superior version will be a showcase for the Switch 2. That gives it the best chance for the game to maximize sales with the Switch 2 version selling far more copies because of the superior hardware.
Agree with most of what you said. Prime 2 Remastered I could see being in next months Direct. (1 year after Prime 1 Remastered) Prime 3 Remastered I'm unsure, June at earliest? Unless we are getting Prime 2/3 as a double pack which I don't know if I want that if that means they aren't full remasters...
As for Prime 4 and the next system, it doesn't need two versions, keep it Switch "exclusive" and with backwards compatibility all four Primes would be playable on the new system anyway.
@@ryanseaman4381 Metroid is NOT a system seller, no matter how much we would like it to be. Nintendo seems to be trying to push Metroid up to a higher tier of Nintendo game, but it's not there yet. Prime 4 being on Switch 2 as an exclusive would be a horrible business move, as for having 2 versions, Switch and Switch 2 would divide up the already small userbase of Metroid, also a bad decision. Keep it Switch exclusive, and with backwards compatibility all four Primes would be playable on both systems anyway.
They don't need to do anything. Plenty of people started with Dread, plenty of people played XC2 without playing XC first. I have only played a little of the MPT, not even touching 2 and 3 I think, yet am going to get MP4. Will you also tell people to play MPFF if those are linked, which it seems they might be?

That is a hot take! If I had to choose I’d rather it be exclusive to Switch 2 over Switch 1, because it will look and play better on the newer superior hardware. What I’m hoping/expecting is Prime 4 to be cross gen, so that way everyone wins.

I still feel burned having bought the GameCube on day 1. Sure, Prime I, and other titles like Rogue Squadron and Smash Melee were great, but having a trickle of titles while my friends had access to hundreds of games coming out for the PS2 or Xbox folks having Halo parties felt like my parents had dropped a lot of money on an upgraded Fisher Price play set (notwithstanding Nintendos consistently outstanding, if regrettably sparse, first party output).
I imagine a lot of Wii U people feel the same.
Point is, I’d happily take an 8/10 game with 30fps on a proven system than risk dropping hundreds on a new system that plays one 10/10 game at 60fps and then have to wait 18 months until it has a respectable library.
With backwards compatibility switch games would play on "Switch 2" anyway, so it can be Switch exclusive and still playable on the new system.
