@IzzoWingChun @DominickIzzo Thank you for love you show and the effort you put into the Wing Chun community. Happily Unexpected and Extremely Thoughtful. Thank you Dominick Izzo. Thank you for being who you are, unapologetically amazingly you. - Justin Och
aaahhh. My Sifu. thanks for the recognition. pretty sure he appreciates it. i’m the bald black man featured in the video.
i’m one of the few who challenged him but actually stayed. been with Sifu Och for almost 16 years.
Wing Chun with foward pressure is dangerous
Exactly how Wing Chun should be, a hard striking art, not Push Fu 👊
Izzo thank you for this. He reminds me of how Sifu Meadows was. Very explosive, fast and kept going until your opponent can't go anymore. Meadows would teach with your opponent coming full force in different situations. He also taught the NPD.
Sifu Swift taught in Rochester NY then went to Tampa Florida. He recently moved to Minnesota and has a school there.
I'm in Jacksonville Florida , I've seen videos of Sifu Och before and it's all pretty impressive
As Im from the William Cheung lineage, im no asshole..and yes Sifu Shannon Moore is the best. On my visit to florida, ive had the opportunity to train under Sifu Och, top student, Sifu Garrett Brumfield(the bald blk guy in video) in tampa. Lineage never mattered to me. If its practical, makes sense and deadly, im all for it. This school is legit. Very dynamtic, explosive and right up my ally. Why? THEY FIGHT! Spar.
I was lucky to be one of Sifu's original 6 students. I came in about a month after he started teaching in Lakeland. Unfortunately do to major family heath issues and other personal things that came up I was only there for 2 years. Wish I could go back but I am stuck up in Indiana.
You are spot on with everything you say about him. I remember watching videos of people from Wing Chun sparing others and getting destroyed and not being able to wrap my head around it. But then I had to remember I came from an exceptional school and not one of those garbage ones. I just remember my first class and all he taught and thought to myself...yep this is where I want to be.
Oh and a side note Sifu is 5' 7". He's as tall as you, you just have him on weight.
Hey, I'm from Wm Cheung lineage thru Mazza and I don't think I'm an asshole lol.....but I still love ya Izzo....great content....and Shannon I awesome!! Thanks for the info on Och....seems like a top notch instructor!!👍🏿
Yes! Thank you for this video Sifu Och. I started with Sifu Och about 10 years ago and worked for him for about 5-6 of those years. Now I"m back to focusing on my training underneath and everything you said here is 100% correct! Man would love for you to come visit lakeland one day!
Great video. You may already know this, but Sifu Steve Lee Swift used to be in my city many many years ago (Rochester NY). Keep up the great content 🙏🏾
This is refreshing. He absolutely has it! I come from an old school Duncan Leung (before the shift)/ Brian Edwards lineage and what I see from him is very similar to the stuff we do. Thanks for sharing!
I was talking about that the other day. The old Dave Meadows crew. Years ago there was a school The White Rose Wing Chun Boxing in Alabama that caused all kinds of drama, saying they came from there and they didn't. But I have had conversations with Doc Savage (and a brief one with Grant Philibin - who wants absolutely nothing to do with the WC community) and can acknowledge their skill is legit.
I am also from Duncan Leung, through Meadows. Are you still in the Hampton Rhodes area?
@Shaferd My Sifu is a disciple of Brian Edwards who, like Dave Meadows, is a disciple of Duncan Leung. We are not in VA but have schools in NC.
@@IzzoWingChunThis is great, my only criticism is it's not violent enough. Ip Man trained secret police to infiltrate CCP, basically WC Jason Bourne. The caveat is the primary goal was to capture for interrogation without getting killed. Didn't matter how damaged the target was as long as he could still talk. As far as just getting out alive for the undercover it was him against multiple opponents kill or be killed. This is why Ip Man had to leave for Hong Kong when the CCP gained control. From there he was still in the resistance, I suspect but can't prove yet, and that is why he settled in the restaurant union because he could form a network and then he again trains Hong Kong police who can use that network. This is why he didn't teach "outsiders" foreigners and northerners. The "real deal" students were not becoming teachers they were going into "other" work.
There's a similar situation with CHEUNG LAI CHUEN of Bak Mei, he created bayonet techniques at the military academy for Chiang Kai Shek and also trained the special ops search and destroy teams. If IP MAN was training Jason Bourne, Cheung Lai Chuen was training John Wick. Again, same Hong Kong situation but it's a little clearer how the Bak Mei Pai stayed involved because they had networks to Laos and Cambodia to fight Ho Chi Minh, who just happened to be a student of Cheung Lai Chuen at the military academy before he was expelled. One of Cheung Lai Chuen's top students General Kot Siu Wong created the 14K triad which used the heroin trade to finance the resistance both above and underground and this is how Bak Mei became famous in the triads and feared by the CCP who were being trained by northern Shaolin, again why Ip Man wouldn't train northerners.
The only person I know who does what would be basic Bak Mei is Lee Morrison at Urban Combatives, looks like he's reinventing the wheel, no insult intended. The real secret to both is the HAKKA SHOCKING POWER, Adam Chan knows this I can tell by his movements and I've tried to get him to comment on the history but no response. It's a "dirty" history unless you oppose communism.
Great stuff D.O. Thanks for sharing. That last capture of him smiling with the sunnies on is Gold. Seems like a nice guy - With a brutal underbelly. Love it.
My pleasure!
Izzo you rock big brother💥👊🏻 love this content.
I trained under Shannon Moore for only a minute then my stupid life got in the way and got into some bad headspace that I couldn't go back, glad to hear your support for him as he was a good martial artist and had a good outlook with Wing Chun and martial arts in general.
I needed to read this. I'm currently injured due to an accident at work. Haven't been to class for a few months now. also struggling with the head space, wanting to go back but just can't get my act into gear.
It looks like Sifu Och knows what he is doing in contrast to the Tengyao guy you featured recently. In some clips it looks like he relies more on physical strength than skill but overall quite impressive.
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Love the vids IZZO been watching for a little while now this Lineage of wing chun sounds like the one I'm learning in England my Sifu came from Meridian kung-fu who was under Simon lou his formed his own now called Fuli Martial Arts. 🙏
I learned from Steve Lee Swift. He was in Rochester NY then moved to tampa Florida, then recently to Minnesota.
Excellent Wingchun.
his moy yat lineage is from Darrell Jordan whose sifu was Lee Boy Shan (Doug Lee) a Moy Yat Disciple. Not sure why he ever mentioned Darrell’s name just - Moy Yat lineage...
that’s not entirely correct. we do have a connection to darrel jordan. only saying because Sifu Och is my Sifu.
Sifu Och looks like a bad ass!! 😅
Great content. There is a wing chun guy named Mark stas do you know if he is the real deal?
Have you ever done a breakdown of Pfaff or Bedder?
Pretty sure you wont be as excited as you are about Och, interested to hear what you got on them ✌️
I dabble in wingchun and it adds well to my Muay Thai and submission wrestling. Wish I could learn more but there is no wingchun we’re I’m from.
Anyone who says you only need one sifu is crazy. If I had stayed in the Ip lineage and never trained with Mark Phillips, I never would have figured out how WC ACTUALLY works in a fight. In Hong Kong it makes sense - most kung fu students do it for health and fun. But in the West, being able to apply your martial art is essential. I know you know what I mean!
There is some Ben Dur (sp?) guys down in florida as well. Ibe seen them and they are true fighters. You should check them out.
I used to love wing chun for a martial art, but to fight I wouldn't go near it, it's got some great applications that have spread into kali and some karate, but apart from that I'd just take it for enjoying the art. If you don't have any type of boxing with it I think frankly you just get smashed to pieces, but that's the great thing about martial arts it speaks immense volumes of truth.
Step out of the sport fighting and I'll introduce you to the streets. You scared?
I'm terrified of the streets dude, please not the streets dear lord save me@@gbody2617
Hi Dominic I'm not sure if in the past we might have meet, however a student of mine mentioned that we have met and you may have passed so.e comments on the wing chun I practice. Not wanting to cast any misconceptions I wonder what you said? And maybe why? Thanks dude
Nope, you and I have never met and I have never commented on your teaching or skills.
@IzzoWingChun thanks dude not sure why but some do as me and Pual Smith were friends and best friends dide
I never met Paul either. I was under Phil Nearing back in the early 2000's and know well of you. I am not a fan of Massengil and have absolutely spoken about him though.@@SifuBilly
It is true about not wanting to learn from people you guys you can beat up. My balinwantak Kali instructor Paul Dee would regular whoop My ass and I loved it and I was bigger and stronger than him. Great guy,I miss my training. Oh what on your thoughts on Randy Williams and Jose grados. The former was my first wing chun school
Your content is consuming so much of my time right now. 😂 I love it!
Can you check out Master James Sinclair. The founder of the United Kingdom Kung Fu Association. He taught me his amazing ways of WC after I had 3 years at a previous school. The difference was amazing. Pure class.
A presto 👍💪🙏
_Better than movie Wing Chun, still an awfully weak martial art. You are not hurting or throwing around anyone with those tiny little girly slaps._
"Girly Slaps" 😅😅😅😅😅 too funny
