How will the Speed UTV compare to the Canam x3 Turbo RR and the newly announced RZR Pro R?
Bigger question.. how will it do rock crawling??
Ryan has a Speed UTV on order, and has for almost a couple years now. While there has been a LOT of criticism for the delays, Robby Gordon and the Speed team seem to be making progress!
We are excited to get our hands on one! Ryan is hopefully for sometime in the spring of 2022, but all that we are told from Speed is “soon”.
Predictions… will it be impressive enough for Ryan to ditch his RZR Turbo S?
It is always amazing to witness the amount of energy folks put into hating something that would directly benefit the hobby they love and raise the bar for an industry that they are heavily invested in. I suppose it is simply human nature to become tribal about a brand or manufacturer as it is very common to see across all motorsports.
Take the tribal blinders off for a minute and think of the industry as a whole. Now think about the future of the industry if Speed UTV succeeds and also if it fails. Competition has always bred innovation and a Speed UTV success story would benefit the entire UTV community. Failure of Speed UTV would ensure any future ideas of starting a new UTV company to be DOA for at least the next 10 years if ever. Failure of Speed UTV allows the current manufacturers to keep pinching pennies and keep the status quo of quantity over quality.
Agreed! While I (Royce) am not ready to get in line to put money down, I understand that the success of this machine/company would push the entire sxs industry to level up. Thanks for your comment and hope that you stick around the channel 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Extremely debatable take especially now.
Awesome, congrats Ryan! I”m looking forward to you getting it!
🤜🏻🤛🏻 thanks Terry
Looks awesome! I hope you guys hold on to it and do some videos with it… IF it ever comes out 😂
If Ryan hasn’t been bullied into selling his spot by now, I don’t think he ever will be!
I thought Robby's car would dominate the SXS market but after seeing the new ProR Rzr debut.... not sure he will be able to compete with that car and the upgrades that are coming.
Pro R is looking really, really good for the desert crowd
I agree the polaris pro r is totally AWESOME!!!
I agree that new rzr looks sweet but the speed is still built better with more reinforced components, bigger shocks, more hp. Having that extra gear and being able to shift on the fly rather than having to stop. Plus way more bang for the buck with speed.
Polaris had to step up their game because of Speed.
@@UnpopularOpinion314 why do you say that. Does anyone know how the speed car will hold up? how it handles? How it jumps? How it holds up to the real test drivers and that is the customers. No why because its not out yet to prove its self and maybe there is a reason why its not out yet lol. By the time it comes out it will already be out dated lol. While this new polaris pro will be getting better n better.
Congratulations Ryan! You’re gonna get one heck of a UTV! Can’t wait to see you doing all you can with it! Going to look awesome in Sand Hollow!👍😎🤘
Are you guys going to be in SH this wknd!? I’m in Hurricane with my buddy as we needed our RZR’s serviced & just got them back! Can’t wait to get out there!
Haven’t really rode around SH since May after 2 big trips to Red River in New Mexico in June then Silverton & Ouray CO in Aug! Those trips were wonderful for all in our group! Hope you guys go out there someday!🤙😉
Awesome! We hope to get out there sometime this weekend, no solid plans
Congrats about your order, I haven’t even heard of this car, I just ordered a 2022 x3. I think I did bad ans you did good lol, can’t wait to see more when you get it on the channel.
Should be a great machine if they can get the manufacturing dialed and support network is there. Everything looked solid
Eghhh. X3 needs to be wider for me to ever want one
@@JacesOwnWorld Wider? it's already a 72" machine and once you go aftermarket wheels with a standard 5+2 offset, you're pushing 76-77". Any wider and you run into problems fitting in a lot of toyhaulers
Congrats Ryan can’t wait to see it on the channel. you guys will definitely show what it can do crawling be cool to see basically what the xx should of been built like or close too.I personally think that the xx is a great platform but it just has a lot of durability issues.
Yup, and will have double the HP!
Ryan, don't be making fun of my Atari - I just put a deposit down on a sweet new Intellivision! (Alright, you guys might be too young for that joke...)
The SpeedUTV is an amazing looking car. Congrats on your order and hopefully your predicted delivery will happen on schedule. Your summation at the end makes total sense, when you start adding up all the common mods/upgrades you stand to end up at the same place on the spend. It'll be really cool to see (and hear) your observations when you get to crawl it next to the RZRs. Can't wait for that one!!
Taking a saw to it to fit 35s is priority one!
They are super bad ass! Not cheap !
Looking forward to you playing with!
We are ready for it to be here!
The difference is Polaris has NEVER advertised the Pro R as coming. All the information has been "leaked". Robby had been saying this was going to be out around Thanksgiving 2 years ago and has even had video along the way.
You’re not wrong. And Pro R will certainly deliver before these
-Royce
@@OffCamberInd Yes by the time this so called rg car comes out it will be behind and will have to be improved.
Still not here 😢
...and then a pandemic/lock down happened...
Blows my mind how Robby is just supposed to overcome a global pandemic, or people who were never going to buy one of his SXSs were going to be fake 'outraged'
Very cool. Ryan we look forward to updates on this.
Hopefully that update comes in 2022! 🤞🏼
Base 4 seater is 32k the limited edition is 38k and adds Limited Edition pre-orders include Speed Carbon Fiber Race Seats, Bead-lock wheels, Speed Roof, Speed 5 Point Harness, and Speed Custom Speed Graphic kit
Good info. Thank you
The shift on the fly feature is sweet
Would come in handy often around here for sure
Long term support and maintenance would be my biggest concern.
Valid concern. Time will tell!
@@OffCamberInd everything with this company is time will tell. Just because rg is involved doesnt mean crap. He is in it for the money not to make friends with the customer.
@@snsschlupp3464 Do you know Robby personally?
Sweet car brother, gonna definitely be a game changer when these hit the market, seems like a pretty damn good deal too.
If they’re built like this, well worth what Ryan has into it! Just a matter of when it’ll come
@@OffCamberInd The production version will be even better. Robby even said he wouldn't sell any of the pre production cars because they were not good enough for his standard. I know the plastics came out too thin and flimsy. Plastics and the doors will feel more solid on the actual production car.
No pot calling kettle black at all. The Pro R actually exists and will be for sale. The Speed is still a unicorn at this stage
Agreed. -Royce
Because of the year difference and inflation that's came, will ypyr price go up from when you pre ordered?
Dont think that’d be legal. Not the customers fault that it’s taking so long
Polaris sure came out with a nice new ride. I was going to put my deposit in but I'm tired of waiting, I think I'm going with the Polaris proR
Royce, what will you be putting on the Pro R right out of the gate?
Some beadlock wheels for sure
Did u get it yet? A year after your initial guess on delivery day?
Nope! 🙃
Wow .. Big News.
Congrats!!
Zoom Zoom
😎thanks for watching. Hopefully it comes this next year!
I still think it's gonna be a few years before they come out
You could be right, but hoping that’s not the case!
I'll be old and retired when it comes out..it's reciculous how long this shit bei going on
Can't wait for my LE El jefe. Blue and black carbon fiber wrap. Hope to have it by June to show it off at UTV Takover at Coos Bay Oregon.
Still holding our breath! Should be an awesome rig if they get them out
@@OffCamberInd I was told by my dealer in Oegon that production starts is April.
Did you get to show it off? 😂
So this video came out a year ago, does he have the sxs yet?
Nope! 😝
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching doc
Will it dominate? Maybe if they ever get built. Guess will know in 10 years, then another 10 after that and another 20 after that?
Haha, hope for Ryan’s sake (the only one of us that ordered one) that they come out this next year.
Thanks for watchin. The new RZR Pro R is looking awesome too! Would be fun to see them head to head
i just picked up a robby gordon rzr 800 4 seater, i only paid $28k for it, I think i got a good deal. It only has 10,000 miles. The guy i bought it from told me robby hand built these himself for polaris.
😂
so enamored with the vehicle, that you didn't take time to recognize Todd Romano strolling around the vehicle. He could have told you more about this thing than just about anyone. He probably has more wheel time in it then anyone.
He kept getting busy, so it’s all good. Maybe we will invite them back down for some exclusive seat time/interview 🤔
Anyway, thanks for watching and hope you stick around for more content
@@OffCamberInd Can’t wait to see! Keep up the great work!
I wanna see it in person. I'll meet you guys in Glamis Thanksgiving 👍
Haha, tell that to Speed. This one isn’t ours
What happens if you need a part?? I'll stick with polaris...
Ya, only time will tell. Pretty rocky start for them so far
Not a Polaris Fanboy, actually kinda of a hater, but the Pro R is looking nearly as good or better and it’s first to market. Now that Robby is having motor issues things aren’t looking nearly as unequal as a couple weeks ago.
Pro R looks phenomenal! The 4 seater is probably too long for what kind of stuff we are typically doing, but the specs on that 2 seater look 👌🏼👌🏼
Thanks for watching
Speed utv look bad ass and the power should be nice... Are they really front wheel drive based though?
Primary RWD with on demand 4x4, just like other side by sides, except you can actually throw it in 4 while at any speed
The interior looks great but will be a nightmare the clean….. best part about the X3 is you can just hose the whole thing down in minutes when back from a ride
It’s a nice unit I just feel it’s a long wait, I get it it takes long to create something like this but maybe he should have waited a little before he said anything to the public. With shortage of material now I’m going to say another couple years before they fulfill all orders, but I hope I’m wrong.
I assume he needed the deposit money to be able to fund the project. Hopefully it all works out. Hope the whole industry keeps innovating!
-Royce
@@OffCamberInd actually all that deposit money can not be used, it has to go in a trust but the money for the accessories I believe can, just something I heard as far as legalities so don't quote me. Just letting you know what I have heard.
Talk about those 3.25" SHOCKS. Everyone else is 2.5"...
Ya, they looked huge! I think the new rzr is 3.0 front and back as well
damn bro who welded that chassis? Stevie Wonder?
The test model compared to the one in the video posted 8 hrs ago I'm not impressed but people just got them so we will see tho
This thing looks just like a tracker from Cabela's or a wildcat from Arctic cat.
Robby Gordon helped design those, so that makes sense
@@OffCamberInd that’s a deal breaker alone. After owning an Arctic cat sxs, I won’t touch one with a ten foot pole.
It’s like having a truck
Ya, that storage would be nice, right? Kinda weird because it’s not what we’re used to.
-Royce
Nope. By the time it’s available for purchase there will be a new x3 and a ton of modified pro R’s running around.
Could be right. Unfortunate timing to try and release a car - with manufacturing/distribution delays and shortages. Hoping for the best!
Thanks for watching
@@OffCamberInd yeah it’s crazy times for sure. It’s unfortunate too. I’m sure it will be a great car regardless and I’m sure overall quality will be up over Polaris and can am when/if it’s in production, but to “dominate” they would really need to have solid aftermarket support imo and are missing the boat on that currently.
The only competition is the new RZR Pro R and it is $50k.... We thought $30k for the Speed was crazy at the time!
50k 😂😂😂. It's starts at 32k
The Pro R ultimate is $37,999 at full blown MSRP. The launch edition Pro R is $40,999 but it is already sold out.
Any canam turbo rr will run with the new polaris and with a tune will smoke it. (Does noone consider power to weight)
Those axles are gonna be a real pain in the ass. Nothing protecting them at all?
Most sxs don’t necessarily have anything over the axle, but I’m with ya, it looks kinda funky when you’re used to seeing radius rods. Thanks for watching
Competition is always a good thing. Just wish this was made some place other than China.
Someday?
🥲
I wonder how much it weighs, it looks heavy
Good question.. we will have to get that spec
It was a Yamaha YXZ that was on fire
Correct! We saw that later. Us rzr guys finally get a break!
-Royce
Any NEW news on this machine?
Just what we see on Robby Gordon’s social media/CZcams streams. Looking like they’re really cranking out parts, but haven’t seen any final products ship yet
Just watched the latest video he put up on CZcams. Damn he's an arrogant man. His stadium super trucks are cool... but they have failed to gain Traction in the motorsports world. And he's doing some pretty heavy trash talking towards polaris. The xx was a joke. So hopefully he can redeem himself by launching this rig before camp rzr this year. Otherwise he's gonna flop and most likely go bankrupt.
He’s got an interesting PR strategy for sure. Still crossing our fingers that he can cross the finish line with these. Would be cool to have someone put the pressure on other manufacturers to step up quality or lower prices. Competition is healthy
@@OffCamberInd I gotta say I really do like the a arm/trailing arm setup without the radius rods. Would be super cool to see that machine have some success!
Dominate! Made in AMERICA!
If they come out, they should be a great contender!
I ordered one!!!! 😂😅🤣
Really? Just now, or before?
That Speed UTV will fall flat on its face. Robby isn't going to let anyone develop aftermarket parts for it.
Time will tell. Thanks for watching and hope you stick around on the channel 🤘🏼
@@OffCamberInd
Mx304 that's because it won't need after market part's , that's the hole idea.
lmao, however the hell you think he could do that
@@patrickjohnson7801 Even if it was perfect out of the box, which it won't be, people want to be able to modify their stuff.
@@MX304 it will be interesting to see what the industry has to offer for mods
And what the people would like to do differently to the Ride, probably will be something.
Before I ever thought about racing a speed utv you better see if there's parts available to prep/rebuild the car after the race and that whole speed key it's a joke let me pay to unlock some horsepower and void the warranty of my car I'd just wait till the aftermarket unlocks it within a week it will cost a lot less and you didn't cancel your warranty buying a speed key
We were joking about the racing part. None of us like working on/maintaining stuff as much as required for racing. You’re right, a ton to consider going that route. Thanks for watching and hope you stick around for other videos
Speed Key now comes WITH A WARRANTY
Really? Awesome news! Ready to rip!!
@@OffCamberInd YUP, SAW IT ON I THINK THE 2ND TO LAST UPDATE SHOW THEY DID
Enjoy your new machine, I have a feeling its going to outshine everything else out there
This is a trophy truck? What's the transmission? I never heard. I didn't see a belt box. And why ever switch off the speed key? Lol
No, It's not a trophy truck. It's a UTV like Polaris/CanAm. The designers used a lot of tech and design cues from trophy trucks and Stadium Super Trucks and applied it to the Speed UTV platform. It has a 3 speed trans and is run off of a belt like a Polaris or CanAm. Gas is expensive and Race E85 even more so!
It s a cvt with an aluminum casing on the left
@@OffCamberInd ahhh gotcha. Can't wait to see your trophy stadium speed utv tear up the terrain! 😂
He has a sales and service center in lake Havasu with nothing in it
Hopefully that changes soon, eh? Thanks for watching
the front looks like a Cadillac Escalade
Exactly what we think!
Is that good?
Looks ugly
I wonder how all the people who put a down payment on the car feel. I know i would not like it.
Feels not good, but we have others while we wait. Haha
Speed UTV also has been doing weekly videos of the whole process. Yesterday Robby said his goal was to get the factory fired up sometime in December. #1891
That’d be awesome
THIS IS THE ELIO OF THE SXS INDUSTRY LOL
Bust. He debuted his cars at the UTV world championship race in Havasu and couldn't even finish the 1st lap.
Not gonna dominate for 2 main reasons 1- is not available for production 2- price is crazy
You’re right about prices. They’re going up all across the board! Crazy. Thanks for watching
I'm not excited!!! I can't afford any of them !!!
The longer they take the better the razors get not going to be as awesome if it don’t come out for a few more years
True
Let me know when the rest of the industry ever builds anything this beefy. They may keep throwing more HP at it, but the major manufacturers sure seem comfortable not raising their standards for durability and build quality. Prices sure do keep going up though. Ayy, people keep paying them though - well, financing them...
By the time they get out they will be behind
You could be right. Time will tell. Thanks for watching
Easy on the Crow comments!

they gotta hurry up before they get outdated

Is that a wildcat
Robby did help design the wildcat, so they’re very similar
So another failure ?

Prob went from 32k and they now paid 50k for it

Msrp of 41k 😳
Inflation is going wild these days. We (Ryan) got in at like 32k. Newest 4 seat rzr is 37-42 as well. Hopefully we all get raises, right?!
@@OffCamberInd rzr pro? I just bought a 2022 HL 4 seater for 24k.
Robbie has to get these units into full production which he is struggling to do. Then, the whole support and service aspect. He is a few years away from being in prime time, and the mainstay is not going to just watch him try and gain marketshare.
Agreed. He chose (well, didn’t really choose) the worst time of the last decade to launch a new car.. with manufacturing and distribution the way it is, I have a hard time believing it’s going to happen as soon as everyone hopes, but I do believe it will happen.
-Royce
My RZR was $21K these are $38K? That's a cool machine but if I put that extra $17k into the build we're looking at 500hp easy

Another forever prototype
Could be right, but for the investor’s sake, hope not! Thanks for watchin
I see nothing but pain for the fanboys of this misguided adventure. I wish Robbie well but forsee a very unpleasant end to this endeavor. Two weeks ago he’s still talking about engines blowing up on the dyno, no thank you very much! How many mules are out there running, one? two? This is starting to stink, stand by to stand by! All those fancy hand TIG’ed parts won’t make to production, too expensive, unless you have a bunch of sweat shop Chinese making them. I would love to have one of these but there is no plan, and let me tell you kids, HOPE IS NOT A PLAN!
Haha. While I (Royce) am not in line to buy one at this point, I’m “hopeful” they’re delivered as planned, for the “investor’s” sake, but also for the industry as a whole to require a level up in performance - and maybe quality, across the board. We like a lot of things about them, but time will tell what happens. Thanks for tuning in 🤘🏼
Talk about hideous 😂😂
Will it dominate the SxS market😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 maybe the Chinese SxS market, but I doubt that.
Company will fold and there will be no aftermarket parts or replacement parts in the near future
Even though I’m not buying one, I’m rooting for them. If it comes out and is as cool as preached, everyone would benefit because it would raise the bar across the board. Time will tell. Thanks for watching, Darren.
-Royce
Don’t get me wrong Im not hoping they fail I just wouldn’t sink that much into a unit for such a new company. They need at least 5 or more years under their belt before I felt comfortable investing in a unit.
@@darren6790
Chances are you the company will fold. I think the idea is great. Chassis design and build will be awesome but designing and building an engine that has great longevity is a whole other game. I’m probably reading too much into this but RG said the rear portion of the car can be disassembled for easy maintenance AND for aftermarket guys.
If the company folds I think someone will buy the design, scrap the engine and mate something like an Ecotec to it.
“Initial cost was Similar to a turbo S but you were getting way more car here” “ ok let’s start with the suspension” “well, it’s pretty compatible to a Turbo S” lol, this is basically an overhyped homage Turbo S, with nowhere near the parts support or production and if you use the highest factory settings, it voids the warranty. Laughable
Hey Joe, Turbo S was mentioned because the two of us have owned 4 of them, so it’s what we know. I’m not a Speed fanboy and didn’t order one, but do hope it comes out and does well and makes the other manufacturers less comfortable with mediocrity.
What do you think about the Pro R release from Polaris?
-Royce
There are tons of cars with the same amount of travel. The quality of travel is what matters. You sound like you are a guy who gets sold on big numbers without understanding them. The support is the only real concern people should have with this car. Robby Gordon is a world class fabricator and Arguably build the best off road racing vehicles ever. The machine is going to perform. That’s not the concern.
@@Dtay630 Youre mad because I pointed out the obvious absurdity in the conversation? Then you point out Gordon’s amazing fabrication, as though he’s building you a one off desert truck. You sound like a guy that’s a major fan boy.
@@joeblow8197 I am a fan of his. He knows how to build a car. He built the textron wildcat which was a crazy good car if you’ve driven one. But as I said the only real concern is support.
