I'm still shocked to have found a safe in the locker I purchased from a viewer who moved to Hawaii six years ago. He had told me some of the items that were stored away, but the safe was most definitely not on the list. A shake of the safe confirms there are contents inside, so let's crack into it and see what's inside. Spoiler... it's good and it's exciting!
This is part 5 of the "Moved to Hawaii" locker series.

My mother was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had jewelry and a handbook just like what you found. I'd say the value is in who wore them. I look forward to having my mother's Eastern Star memorabilia mostly to remember her by. I wonder if they would like you to return them or maybe they are just getting on with their life in Hawaii and not looking back.

The double-headed eagle is commonly emblazoned upon rings and hats worn by brothers within the Scottish Rite. In this regard, it is thought of as a symbol of prestige, as the Scottish Rite is a rather exclusive section of Freemasonry. You can identify the double-headed eagle of the 32nd degree by how the eagle’s wings are arranged

The large round stones are possibly moonstones. There was a small stran of stones at the bottom of the tray with the turquoise looks like garnets. Also, I have the vintage popeye to your vintage sweetpea. I love the stones to make jewelry with . Great grab!! I would have done the same. Love your content. Wish i could do the same. Mikimoto pearls are valuable and are worth having restrung! Go to a reputable pearl place and have them restrung. I have an old box like that with my grandmothers pearls in it.
Order of the Eastern Star is part of the Masons.

Jack & Jenna. The safe looks real interesting. Did they want the photo album back? The Garage Sale haul was incredible.

Not sure if they want that photo book, but I'm putting it in their stack to be returned. If they decline some of the items (and they might, being that the photo box stack is getting huge, which means shipping is getting expensive) then maybe we'll be able to auction it, but that's their call. I'm waiting until I'm through every box before tackling the shipping on the photos.

There were no Mets before 1962. If that were a 1969 ball, yowza. (and I'd fight you for it. ) Double-headed eagles are used all over the place. Looks like an old ring though; 10k doesn't get that worn until it's been around a while. Luna, btw, is cheesed that you're not paying her enough attention. She needs a cat named Stella to boss around. Silver-soldered is silverplated copper, generally - higher end plate. The solder is silver but the rest...? 23:26 That eagle might be ebony or lignum vitae. If the coffee grinder had woodworm, maybe before it was made into a coffee grinder. The trails aren't generally visible on the surface since the worms burrow. Usually that means European, what's left of it. I'd look at spalted wood too, as more likely. Maybe a combo of the two? 28:12 dyed sugilite looks like. 28:36 Chinese for sure. 29:08 tagua nut 29:53 I'd bet on those being Nepali or Tibetan. She probably paid crazy high gem show prices on the beads, but I'd have pigged out too. My favorite thing in the video is Luna of course! But of things up for grabs, either the beads or the Mets ball.

I liked the coffee grinder, the green necklace, and the purse with the (maybe) turquoise on it. Those photos from the safe might be the owners grand or great grand parents photos.

Gurka Knives used by Nepalese soldiers who fight in the British army, a very old and famous fighting force. the smaller knives are throwing knives usually thrown at the throat area. I think the stamp might be Jade, very cool items.

I have that same jewelry box. It is from the 1930's. I believe it is Japanese. The stone on the little cabinets that open is Jade. My boyfriend got it from a house that he was cleaning for a company and the family of the deceased let my boyfriend and the guys he worked with, whatever they wanted to keep. Neat to see that you have the same one 😁.

Gran could be the mark of the goldsmith that made the ring.
I know a guy from Hungary that moved here(Holland) who's family name is Gran.
Maybe it's from that area, the eagle looks like one the Austrians use a lot on flags, coats of armour and such.
Austria and Hungary were one country/kingdom from 18sixtysomething until around the end of ww1.
Hmm actually, the eagle used by Austria is single headed, the one used by the Austro-Hungarian empire was double headed.
