Japanese fans respect to him as "the warrior on a wheelchair". Rest in peace.
A fitting phrase for a legendary man.
@@Firebolt1729 16 world titles. Let that sink in

That would be an honor.
That’s a pretty awesome name to be known by, and extremely respectful all at once. I expect nothing less from the honorable Japanese culture.

One of the most storied teams in F1 history, founded by Sir Frank Williams driven by his passion.
Exactly. Not a company or a brand to promote themselves or their products. It's a team passionate about racing and competition.

Nicely pointed out, thank you.
The fact that he started a brand new F1 team from scratch, not once but twice, built upon little more than sheer willpower, then in a short space of time reached the most glorious heights of success, is an incredible feat I'm sure F1 will never see the likes of again. Sir Frank will forever be a legend of the sport.
It's actually sad, pretty sure other people achieved this but none of them were tetraplegic.
With sadness yet a smile I imagine Niki, Enzo, Giles, Ayrton & all the other legends are welcoming Frank to a Grand Party in Heaven tonight, possibly debating if either Lewis or Max will win this years drivers title. Love from Australia XO
Nice fairy tale but this is reality.

I hope someday that Williams will be back where they belong🙏
I think Frank Williams was the final Great Person in F1 to exist. Bruce McLaren died 1970. Enzo Ferrari died 1988. All of them managed to make something extraordinary. Without them the F1 as it is today would not exist.
Exactly
Hopefully 2022 will be great for williams
you all in that comment section have extremely short memory (or maybe too young). this dude was a bad thing for the sport. as a team manager it was horrible. he should've been out of F1 donkeys ago yet.
legend of the sport. never to be forgotten. rest in peace, sir frank.
Rest in peace 😭🥀.
Legends never die
I miss sir Frank Williams
Rest in peace
This man lived and breathed F1, and he didn’t let any adversity stop him. He lived in the perfect era of F1, where a small but determined team could and did win championships.
let me tell you how dominate Williams was during its era. Williams still has second most World constructor Championship wins despite not winning a championship for last 24 years. They're only seconds to ferrari and by the looks of things it would be another 3-5 years until Mercedes or Mclaren matches their record.
what?
@@doodletanki6661 they have the second highest number of constructors championships in the world
@@Feisty123 yeah I know that, but the comment said that they're currently second in the WCC, probably a mistake but yesh
I believe this is all true and wonderful time to hear it..
At least Frank was still able to experienced his team scoring point once more and a even a podium and front row. A spirit to bounce back from rock bottom, spirit that inherited by the creator himself.
You will be missed Frank 💙
Sadly didnt show George Russell, because it was a great achievement

Frank showed us all that you can face adversity and come back stronger. An icon and role model to those everywhere. He really showed that a little team can do big things

Everyone will continue your legacy here in F1, and im really sure Williams Racing Team will comeback stronger to make you proud and smile even more bright from heaven.
Amen
I have not heard that in a long time…👍
One day in Spain I worked in the TV booth with Frank Williams, Jackie Stewart and Nigel Roebuck.
I was in the booth early, but when they brought in Frank, I was blocked in without the materials I’d need to do the TV show,
Frank saw my predicament and said rather casually, “If you need to get out, climb over me.”
Sure, I was going to climb over Frank Williams to get some reference materials and a pen! Luckily for me, the nice lady from Spanish TV came by and unlocked a second door that allowed me to get out and get back without disturbing anyone.
Interestingly, part of my job that day was to pass talking point notes to Frank and Jackie, but no sooner had I finished a note than one or the other (usually Frank) brought up the point without benefit of my note.
Frank was pragmatic about his condition, and he had a mind like a steel trap. Watching him that day was an education . . .
❤️

Glad we were at least recently graced to see Williams as a solid team, winning poles, with MAS and BOT a few years ago. Praying for a Williams resurgence in the coming seasons.
If there was ever a time for a resurgence, it would be the 2022 rules changes. I would feel bad if Russel transferred out right as the team hit it's stride again, but I would love to see a Williams title in my time... Especially now.

I have always admired the way he was determined to have the team succeed, heart felt sympathy to his family and well done to Claire for running the team Sir Frank Williams will be sadly missed
Williams were my team growing up in the '90s, following Damon Hill in his battles with Michael Schumacher.
Those were some memorable times back in the 90s
Strange how Damon Hill wasn't featured at all in this montage considering he won the 96 World Championship for Williams.
I really recommend the documentary "Williams" (2017). This man made me fall in love with his team. I don't care if this is one of the worst moments in the team's history, I shall support them always! Frank gave everything for his dream and I think there's nothing more satisfying when you go to the end of the World for something you love. I hope to see Williams winning again soon, but even if they don't, I'll stand with them. Thank you Sir Frank, thank you for all the memories.
The founder of one of F1’s most iconic racing teams, filled with triumph and success.

1942-2021
The day he passed and before it was in the news, I was strolling around the city when I spotted someone wearing a "Williams-Renault" jacket from the 90's, I thought to myself: "wow, I had never seen anyone wear one of those". Hours later the news came of Frank's passing. I kind of felt like Frank was saying "goodbye" to me when I saw that man wearing the vintage Williams jacket. I've been a massive Williams fan since the 90's, as a child. Thank you Sir Frank, you will forever be an inspiration to a lot of people, including myself.
Imagine F1 history without Frank Williams and the Williams team. Exactly. You can’t. This man has had such an incredible impact on the sport that it’s landscape would be radically different without him. Rest In Peace Sir Frank. Your contributions to Formula 1 will never be forgotten.

Yeah buddy, if you bear in mind that Piquet and Mansell are the two biggest enemies in F1 history (they still dislike each other 😂😂😂), this makes the scene even more powerful
It's weird to think that Mansell would've been without a title if Frank didn't convince him to come and race for Williams again, and if Damon had the opportunity to hold onto his seat for the 97 season Villeneuve wouldn't be a world champion...
Frank was truly a remarkable man. A man who inspires. A legend in the proper meaning of the word.
