Don't complain that they look plain-jane, bud. They're less likely to walk off when your back is turned. $200 headphones LOOK like $200 headphones. Headphones that sound like $200 and look like something you bought at the dollar store don't attract thieves. And it's not about the bling anyway. As for wanting thicker pads, go to the craft store and buy a hunk of 1/8" rubber foam. Cut a couple small pieces to size and stuff them inside the existing earpads. Or get some third-party earpads.

I Recently Acquired The Koss KPH40 , KPH30i , Porta Pro & KSC75 Which I Ordered The Same PartsExpress Band Your KSC75 Are On .Putting The KSC75 On A Band Makes These Usable Especially After Putting The YAXI PADS on My KSC75s Because They Are At That Point To Thick To Go On My Ears Using The Clips . The KSC75 Are The Least Sound Wise In My Opinion But Still Have Very Enjoyable Sound . The KOH30i Also Has Such A Nice Sound With The KPH40 Having The Best Sound Over All And The Porta Pros Have The Strongest Bass .
Linguini cable is a name I'll never unhear again. I just got these after using the KSC75 for 2 years which is near perfect but lack bass. Is there something with the clarity of of the 75 but the bass of the KPH40?
@@seidelbaum very similar, 75 is slightly sharper, 40 is a little warmer but has more bass. I finally found a middleground though, KTXpro1 which is a titanium coated driver like the 75 but slightly more bass.
YAXI PADS Make These So Much More Comfy . I found a male to male 2.5 balanced cable that ima use with my KPH40 utility so I'm thinking these are going to sound even better than the KPH30i
I personally don't like Yaxi pads. I think the stock pads are actually *more* comfortable and I hate how yaxi pads basically just dampen certai frequencies and ruin the tuning of these.
@@ThatOneAudioGuy good to know. They look like the same thing in pictures. The extra $10 is not too much to pay for something that offers such great amount quality.
@@ThatOneAudioGuy I did internet research and indeed it is clear from Koss's specs alone that they are two very different headphones. The drivers must be totally different. Have you ever checked out the Koss KTXPRO1? I'm going out on a limb here, but I think those are incredible headphones, ugly as all getout, but truly sound great to me. They cost LESS than $20! To me they sound very very good, and not just for the price. To me they just sound really good. I'm curious about your take on them.
Hi, I applyed your Grado earpads mod (with L cushions instead of the flat ones) on my KPH30i Clear and it works like a charm. Thanks for that ! Are the KPH40i better than the 30 ones, or the PortaPros ?
Hello, Could you tell me if you know there is a different between Yaxi foam pads and Koss replacement foam pads? Are Yaxi pads really that good? Or, are Koss replacement foam pads no less than the Yaxi pads? Thank you!
Pretty sure the Koss replacement pads are just the OEM pads, and Yaxi pads are just third party replacements. Never tried the Yaxi pads, but from what I know of; they’re pretty good.
I wouldn’t say it’s a secret. They’re just not as greedy as other companies.
Love it!
These are now my favorite headphones that I own.
I love your presentation, it's fun and educational
I like your review of this than the other that i have seen since the launch of this product, more objective and no exaggerated hype.
An excellent review Dude, thank you.

KOPH40 VS THE new ONES: Cl/2?
I'm an iem guy and kph40 is my first headphone. I'm planning to mod it with QDC 2-pin and use iem Bluetooth adapter to it. Hope it would work fine
I paired mine up with the iBasso DC04 dongle and they sound absolutely wonderful.
I have owned and used only KOSS headphones since the 1970s.
Just like TEAC equipment.

My Humble Setup Below

Last video they were sold out, now I ordered them.
I watched couple a reviews of the Kph40 yesterday but I don't mind hearing your opinion again
your mic could be closer to your mouth and out of the frame if it was above your head
I'm an old guy, but you are a lot of fun...Now now....Get off my lawn and OK Boomer, that's fair.

The KPH40 Are Having Such easing Sound As Do The KPH30i . The Clear KPH30i Have Different Sound Than Regular KPH30i
I prefer angel hair cables 😊
Are the KOSS X RETROSPEKT P/21 basically the same thing as these, but probably without the better and removable cables?
because those are only $30, if you're okay with the orange retro pads and fixed cable.
The P/21’s are different, and don’t sound anywhere near as good as the KPH40.

any idea if kph40 can do diy mmcx?

The 40s and the PortaPros are both better than the 30s, although if you already have a modded set of 30s you don’t need to upgrade.
Hi, does it leak audio? If it does, could you please tell if it gets better after you add foam pads?
It leaks a little bit, but not enough to annoy anyone around you.
@@ThatOneAudioGuy thank you for the response.
Yakzi pads!!
*yaxi and the Grado G pads are even better
to answer your question - why would they make them look like that - im quite sure to keep them as cheap as humanly possible...
in my view kph40 are very stylish and elegant
Will these connect to my scarlet solo interface ??
Yeah. You just need a 1/4in adapter.
@@ThatOneAudioGuy thanks for responding so quick
But Is the sound of the 40i "better" than the kph30i?
They’re definitely similar, but the 40’s do sound better.
it’s still Billy Joel to me
