Thanks for the review! Can you charge that remote without having to put it back on the panel?
Nice review! Thanks.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Lewis! Watch out for my newest video coming out soon.
Awesome review!
Thanks Jay! I love your review too! Keep creating!
Great review my friend. Do you know if the ES45 will actually dim-down more than the Elgato Key Light? I know that is not something that is as caught after, but when I'm teaching Photoshop, I actually need a pretty dim room and just allow the ISO of the webcam to make up for the that fact. I just received the Godox ES45 and feel it's still a touch too bright even on 1% setting, and when looking at really dark images on my screen, it's hard to see them… an issue many photographers deal with. Finding the balance between seeing my screen, being lit decent for teaching, and still having a good video quality is tricky. Thanks mate.
Thanks for watching this video, Kevin! Oh, wow! You're the very person that asked this question, and I'm in the same boat. I agree. 1% is still a bit bright. Unfortunately, I don't really know a way to adjust this using the control. I don't know if this will help, but the only thing that's been helping me is changing it to a warmer colour temperature (for example, 2800). Let me know if you find any other hack. I'd love to know. All the best in your Photoshop class!
@@jeffryesmeralda Yeah, even streamers typically like dark rooms with dim colored lights and such. I like the Elgato Key Light AIR for how dim it can get, but what I don't like is that it doesn't attach to a pole very well because of how how the threads are on the back, not the bottom. None of these lights check all the boxes, sadly. And none are even making softbox-grids for them. I would think that Godox will be the first to do this, if any of them ever do, because Godox has been in the photography industry for so long and are well aware of the importance of a grid.
I think in order to 'dim' them down, I will add a neutral density gel to each light. Basically a grey tinted transparent film that won't alter the color temperature any, but just knock back the intensity. My portrait photographer friends have sheets of it. As long as I can get the setting to be about 20%, that will give me plenty of leeway and should be just fine.
😮 Oh, wow! I didn’t even know that about the Elgato Key Light Air. I actually almost bought it. 🤩 Awesome! That’s brilliant dude. It looks like you’re a real pro when it comes to lighting, which makes sense because you’re into pro photography. Let me know how it goes and if it fixed the dimming thing. Good luck, bro!
@@kevinholliday2066there’s actually a guy in Germany that has started to sell grids for the Elgato lights but they’re pretty pricy. I was actually wondering if there was any way to add a grid to these godox’s. Maybe even diffuse them with an umbrella?
If the remote can only be charged in the back of the light... That is a bit of a shame, is there a deskcharger too?
Hmm 🤔… great question! I actually just tried it and it looks like the remote has a USB C port. I connected it directly to my charger and it worked. Thanks for asking! I discovered something 😁.
@@jeffryesmeralda that does make it a lot more usable. And an option for my use cases. Was planning on going godox for lighting, since I want one ecosystem fir lights.
Thnx for finding out for us 👍
@@annebokma4637 You’re welcome ☺️. I’m glad I learned something while helping.
There’s only a 20$ difference between them. Might as well just go with the elgato (139 VS 159) your best bet is the elgato because the software is much simpler to use
Not a bad idea man. I honestly can’t wait to try the Elgato Key Light also and maybe get the USB-C Stream deck too.
@@jeffryesmeralda yea, elgato makes great user friendly products. They do have their glitches sometimes (software isn’t perfect) but still pretty good
That’s great to know. I can’t wait to try them. I use an Elgato Wave XLR for my audio interface and I definitely think they make great products. I also just got the Elgato Prompter which I can’t wait to unbox and try also. So yeah man. I’m an Elgato fan also 😊.
is it comfortable to eye?
Hey there, great question! My eyes are ok with it as long as it’s low brightness and from yellow to medium temperature settings.
