To me, Bryan's vocals might not be versatile tonally, but he is so good at lyrics & varying the rhythms he uses! Loved both tracks, so intense.

i understand where Johnny's coming from re vocals but man, i just couldn't disagree more. Something about his vocals really click with me and I think they fit the music and the vibe of the band perfectly. I also appreciate that they're very different to pretty much everything in metalcore/hardcore atm
Well for starters i like the fact that he's coherent...
You can genuinely understand most of what he's saying without the need to read the lyrics.
But in terms of tonality, his screams honestly sound so much more aggressive than what we're used to imo...
It sounds like he's angrily yelling, and it works well.

I'd heard so many detractors of Knocked Loose so never listened to them. Finally gave this a go and God damn. These two songs are my fave songs of 2023... Excluding Electric Callboy songs 😂. Love the vocals and that final breakdown*chefs kiss*
Song and film clip combined is incredibly high value. Band staying true but evolving, this band is exactly what it is and doesn’t try to be like anything else
Fun fact, Eric Richter, the director for the music video, also directed most of the music videos for Spite.
Ya'll gotta check out their performance at Bonnaroo this past weekend. So sick to see them at a festival like that. A lady in a wheelchair crowd surfed and it was the coolest thing ever. They are doing great things for heavy music.

It's exactly what you'd expect from them at this point - punishing, yet fun. Kudos to them for putting together a video that is a worthwhile experience in it's own right.
Love how much they continue to blow up while playing such an abrasive style of metalcore that's basically an only ever so slightly modernised version of what bands like Disembodied were doing in the 90s.

Every time I see that part at 6:50 with the kicks, it just makes me think of the ending of the 'This is America' MV.
Knocked Loose is for me now on top of all the actual Hardcore-/Metalcorebands at the moment. Grewing up in the 90ies i listened to a lot of Straight Edge Hardcore and Metalcore and they are now getting their success that other bands at that time like Deadguy, Disembodied, Poison The Well, Strain, Norma Jean, Groundwork, ACME, Morning Again to name a few, or even Botch or Converge didnt get. I am glad that there are bands now that are bringing this kind of sound to a bigger audience.
I fucking love this band.
Also in 'everything is quiet now" brain says "Deniiiiiaallllll" and it sounds so much like the vocalist from the warriors on 'black and the blue'.

I've hear 700 black & death metal albums and despite that Knocked Loose is my favorite band of all time. They just do everything right.
As a KY guy, they're one of the few great things to come from the state. They represent us well and they've been getting better and better over the years

Heard that the guitarist who does the lower vocals is a big fan of death metal which I can hear it in his tone, being a death metal fan myself i think that his vocals sound awesome!

I never really had that "click" in my head for KL till Tear in the Fabric of Life, and now I can't get enough of em, so damn good. When these guys play these songs at something that's not more mainstream like Coachella or Bonnaroo, more smaller and hardcore leaning shows... Like Johnny said, people are gonna die in those pits, these two songs are just massive ass beaters and I can't wait for what's next...
On the topic of the video and the song not taking attention away from either, I felt the same way with the whole animated short film for Tear, it just melds perfectly together, in my opinion... and as Bryan said, KNOCKED LOOSE MFER

The only thing I'd really dread about more mainstream audiences like coachella getting into heavier more aggressive music like knocked loose is the music changing for more mainstream audiences to be more poppy but if a band sounded like that from the start and became popular I do not care.

Agree with the comment about the vocals. I've tried so hard to really get into KL, but I can't get through more than a handful of songs. As you said, it's the lack of variability in the tone of his vocals. Having said that, these are the best songs imo they've released, since Laugh Tracks.
it kind of pisses me off that he has pink hair now. for no real reason other than i always saw him as just like a regular innocuous guy then his music hits so hard. songs dope as always. All my friends will always be their best though.

I’m giving this a second try with you guys. I gotta be honest, I can not STAND his vocals, but I’m hoping they grow on me because the instrumental is sick.
If you love the instrumentals, the vocals WILL grow on you, and then they'll be some of your favorite raw emotion heavy "fuck you" sounds. Check out A Tear in the Fabric of Life if you haven't already

Terrible vocals in my opinion,
Most hardcore has the same cliched tough guy vocal style. Bryan’s vocals are far more unique. They sound so raw and unhinged, that it compliments the music perfectly.
