    He acts like truth is a lump of clay or putty in man's hands. No such thing is hinted at in Scripture. Truth is Truth, it was never deformed and never reformed by man. God's truth has been shining in the darkness since the beginning. God did not fail for 1500 years. God never fails.

      The truth can be muddled by tradition and man-made doctrine, still there, just harder to find. Reformed traditional has referred to calvinistic church traditions within the Protestant Denominations such as the Presbyterians, Reformed Dutch, Reformed Swiss and much later “reformed” baptist theology which adopts the Calvinist view on predestination, but often forgets follows a memorialist view on the sacraments than a spiritual real presence. In the eucharist and that baptism saves upon faith in spirit and in water.

      @@lukasg9031 Yes they do, but it is not classical covenant theology. Reformed Baptists, are still part of the Baptist tradition rather than the Reformed tradition. Just like how Reformed Anglicans are still Anglican. The only truly reformed groups are the Huguenots, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, Dutch Reformed, Swiss Reformed, Waldenses, and insert other continental Reformed group. That being said, I'm not saying this because I believe that Reformed Baptists and Reformed should be separate, I'm just saying we need to define terms here. Calvinism is more than the 5 points, but an entire tradition with its own unique theology. I would argue that infant baptism (in the context of covenant theology) is part of the Reformed tradition. Again, I'm not saying Baptists and Presbyterians can't hang out in conferences like this. I appreciate the works of my Reformed Baptist brothers and sisters. I'm just saying that they are in the Baptist tradition instead of the Reformed one.

      @@mmtoss6530 I agree. Where there is unity we should strengthen the unity. Particular baptists and the other reformed churches agree on basically everything. The only big major difference is infant baptism. I don’t think this is a big enough reason to say that particular baptists aren’t reformed, when both parties agree on everything else.
      Correct me if I’m wrong, but, aren’t the particular baptists the ones who began the baptist “tradition”, and I’m not talking about the anabaptists.

      @mmtoss6530 Před 10 měsíci

      @@lukasg9031 yes, I do believe so. It is important to separate the anabaptists from the baptist tradition. Sadly, most baptists today have left the beliefs of the old particular baptists who started the Baptist tradition. I guess this can be seen by how a normal Baptist today view the Lord’s Supper. Where 1689 says that Christ is really spiritually present, and that we feed on his body and blood spiritually by faith, modern Baptists have seemed to forget this doctrine sadly and now hold to a mere memorial view.

    But the reformers failed to accept the oldest doctrine of them all, that God is numerically and indivisibly one. It was the corruption of this Truth by the Catholic Church in favor of a trinity that sent the world into the dark ages. And failing to cast off this doctrine of devils, the reformers continue on a darkened path still today.

      The doctrine of the trinity was not what started the dark ages that would be more attributed to the fall of Rome and commoners lack of access to knowledge
      The trinity predates the institutionalized state 'catholic' church established in the third century and the first defense of the doctrine of the trinity was by turtulian who was born 160 ad

      @@thanosman3491 I would have to disagree with you. When Rome fell it was controlled by the Catholic Church, or at least the two had basically merged and become the same entity. People had a lack of education because the Catholic Church did not want them to know the Bible, hence why they chained it to the pulpit. It’s no accident that within a couple generations after the invention of the printing press, we get the Renaissance and the Reformation.
      The dark ages was the spiritual result of the church compromising the One God doctrine. I’ve always been curious as to why the nicene creed has been seen as legitimate. With a pagan, sinful man like emperor Constantine presiding over it, you’d think that alone would taint anything that came out of it. ….which of course it did.
