I got mine for £3.91. I got a pile of five natural colours to test them. I was really pleased with mine, so much so I ordered another twelve bottles. I can't say I noticed any cracking, but to be fair I printed a pile of goats and used it on them.

Yeah definitely. A very mixed bag from these paints.
Hoping for the full review you will test them over different primers who have different finishes (matt, satin, gloss) to check if the cracking issue comes back.
The red sucks, but besides the red the rest has replaced my contrast paints completely. I haven't had anything crack at all, not sure what caused that, but then again I don't allow them to pool as I use more of a grisaille style undercoating with them.

I got one of these to try it out, and got the same cracking issue where the paint was pooling too much... I will try to add a wash to see if it fixes it :)

I use Hycote White plastic primer. Inks work great on that almost like water colour on paper.
In my experience with other paints, cracking seems related to the primer that’s underneath. It would be interesting if the same test was done with different primers.
There were a couple of different primers used. One was black, with a white ink. The others were just grey, and another was black with white over the top. All seemed to have similar issues but I still need to play around more and do some proper tests with the primers.

I used to paint a lot with inks and cracking cam from when the layer underneath wasn't fully dry even though it looked dry. I might be an ink related issue causing the cracking rather than this paint. Though they probably use inks with a medium to formulate these. Anyway I'd say test it with a full day between undercoating and painting or don't use the ink undercoat and see if you get the same problem.
The models I'd used had been undercoated weeks before the video, so it won't be the drying time in my case. However, it might be related to some kind of reactivation. Going to have to do more experimenting.
Look good to me,id use them alongside "normal" acrylic paints and oils etc,get the benefits of each medium,i sit and paint for hours though and can take rediculous time to paint one figure! I dont play the games though so not in a hurry,i just stick them on a shelf or mini diorama.
Use their osl white ink for undercoating and no cracks.

@@GrayScalpMiniatures I wonder whether the second layer of the same ink would cure the crack or make it worse?!
Wonder if mixing a bit of paint into the ink would help with transparency a bit. If so you cant beat the price

Is it safe to say the cracking issue was caused by the white ink you used. Same thing that you ran into with speedpaint 2.0?
I would like to see how they behave in airbrush compared to contrast paints (i've seen peole using only contrast in airbrushing and not the alternative) cause I'm interested in using them basically only with airbrush
No problem, I'll get that added to the full review 😁 Theres a bit in the video that shows that, although it's only the one colour. I can say from my experience using these, Speedpaints, and Contrast Paints through an airbrush, they all work in a very similar way.
I've had the same cracking issue with GSW regular paints, pale flesh & flesh rose. Using their primers as well. I guess it's an issue with some of their paints

I would be interested in what they would be like if you actually dipped them rather than brushed them on. Would they perform like like a solid base coat or get all splotchy and crack? I feel like the intent of the name and paint quality is something similar to Army Painters dip wash, but with more base color applications. Again would love to see this tested...maybe dipping in a shot glass or small jar?

It would have been great to see them used as intended, directly over a light primer such as white, off white or very light grey. The darker grey primer underneath is really going to mute any contrast paints, and the ink you used on top could have caused the paint to not adhere or to not work as it should. So these conclusions are not that valid for the way most people use them really
To some extent, but not all my undercoats used in this were grey. I had some that were just white and the same issue is there. To add, even using them further down the line I've still had the same issues cropping up again.

When you put the dipping inks in the airbrush, how much did you dilute the paint ?
Just like a monster, I didn't thin them at all. They worked really nicely straight out of the bottle.

Nice video! Did you coat the models with white or grey? How would they look on a black with grey zenital primed model?
They’re a mix. Some were white, some gray. Still working on the full review but I’ll be doing a few different types of base costs in that to see what works.

I'm in Canada and was looking at the same problem with it being over $140 shipping. I reached out to a Canadian company that sells GSW products and they informed me that they will be getting these in soon and I'll be looking at $13 shipping for the whole set. I'd recommend that you look around for some hobby shops that carry GSW and ask them.
@@Thanos88888 There are no hobby shops for 50 miles in any direction where i live so i rely on mail order companies since i do not drive.
I’m not hyped… the transparence remind me scale75 instant colors, not bad but not use them like contrast or speedpaint, they need layering
