The only thing I want to add to this video is that the 22-year old man that was killed was not part of the protest. It happened in my city on a very violent night when armed looters were looting and destroying property late at night. Not saying I agree with the cop shooting the young man - it is tragic. But just setting context.

Iknow right, media always shows videos of riot police doing their jobs (which is, by the way to control riot or disperse anyone in the area by any means necessary but no lethal force.) instead of showing the actual criminal using violence to fight against violence. Maybe that why riot police are on edge during these protests and they are trying to get it over and done with, because the media paints a target on their backs.

I know this is from a while back, but clearly whoever labeled this video doesn’t understand the difference between a peaceful protest and civil disobedience. Two totally different things, and…… Just because you’re not acting out in violence doesn’t make you peaceful either. There are lots of ways to commit acts that are in attack on another person without actually being the violent aggressor physically.

@@ossra100 these are not peaceful protests, these are riots and these clips are also cut out of context (the first guy getting hit with batons, I’d bet that the cops said to get out of that area and he didn’t, guess what happens to him now?) and hypothetically if I throw something at a cop and then try to resist arrest I shouldn’t be forcefully taken down with the cop’s tools at hand (batons)? of course there are unjustified uses of force in this video (the old man getting pushed), but the justified uses outweigh the unjustified 10 fold. the media will push a narrative, and the public needs to understand how riots get dealt with without getting all pissy about their “rights” when they’re burning down buildings and destroying property

There was a veteran bar owner in Omaha. The riot was coming down the street, he told his friends he was going to protect his establishment. A guy broke a window and there was a confrontation. The window breaker ended up dead. As did the bar owner from suicide a while later. Cause and effect. The peaceful bar owner and the window breaking rioter would both still be here had it not been for the rioter's actions.

The group of police officers that kneeled in front of the protesters were the same officers who didn’t help the poor old man, and later protested against the suspension of the two officers who almost killed him.
