In US news and current events today, police detained a 23-year-old medic and her friends while they were out at protests trying to help people. Sarah Fenno was one of hundreds arrested on May 31 during Black Lives Matter protests in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fenno was held inside the police station, though many others had to sit outside all night. Fenno says that her and her friends were all denied medical attention, food, and water. Watch to hear more about her experience.

More violence these last years when confronting protests : blocking the protesters in one area in order to raise tensions is becoming the norm since 3 years ago, even though before police tactics were far more subtle. 20 years ago, there was an experiment with policemen in daily contact with population (playing soccer with children etc.) that worked well, until a rightwing authoritarian decided repression is manlier and disbanded the units. Now we are back to motocycling gangsters in uniform like in the 60s ...
Far less deaths though, since weapons are far less common. And gendarmes (in charge of rural areas) are far more professionnal, so situation is less dire.

The world’s eyes are being opened to everything law enforcement in the US is willing to do to protect themselves and their own interests. Educate yourself. Talk to others who have worked with law enforcement in the past. It is chilling.

He was a SWAT team member. He was doing his job to defuse protests while being undercover. I'd say that's smart of him and careless of the medic for going into a warzone with a high Intel equipment without a password to protect it.

The first protest i went to i was prepared with baking soda in water bottles to help anyone as well as myself, i ended up making sure my friends got away and stayed back i was one of the only people to stay back to help anyone on the ground i helped like 30 people from getting arrested as well as washed their eyes out including children i was so happy to have been there to stand up as well as help so many

I have heard from alot of people thats how they usually treat everyone they arrest and procces and put in cells , once arrested no matter for what even if its almost nothing they are treated like a murderer or something , really long proccesing times , they won't listen to any of your requests at all , some people also get cold in the cells and ask for a blanket or something , they never listen , I don't know about this stuff personally but I have heard from lots of people that kind of stuff is usual for them , things really need to change , there have to same rules for the cops , a cop killer or a civilian killer they both should be seen as the same way why do they always go after "cop killers" so aggressively and not normal civilian murderers or the cops who. Abuse and kill people? Are cops special do their lives matter more than of the normal people ? This goes so deep and so much needs to change for the better. Protestors need to make. A universal list of things that they need to get changed and be a little more specific about it , that's their power I don't know why they are not doing that
I can confirm that is absolutely true. They arrested my son, we were doing photography with a press pass. Now people are claiming he is antifa, which shows me that the people on the right have no idea what they are talking about and they just make up stories that suit their narrative.

I just started doing this after completing some Red Cross courses. I'm no paramedic, but I work with nurses for a living. I use a tactical vest with a saddlebag, red armbands, but I live in a city where nothing ever happens. If you got any advice to help me out I'd love to keep helping those in need.

I'm so mad! My mum is a dental assistant, my great-uncle is a doctor and my best friend is a nurse, but we are in Austria. However my cousin is in NYC. This hits just too close to home. Nobody in their right mind would arrest medics!! I mean they are the ones who treat you at the hospital when you are sick. Have they even thought of this? WTF?!

I understand that there have to be EMTs, which it's the same in Austria with huge protests, but I wonder where they are. Aren't they obligated to help with tear gas injuries? Just wondering here, bc I don't live in the US and we have a different systems. Our EMTs here are for example less qualified than in the US. The training here is only for 6 months. Whereas in US I believe are a couple of years.

You know when the cops are good when they are out in the community just talking. No arguments, not using their guns, no aggression.
Pepper spray hurts the entire day. I found it more painful actually after showering. I guess when you shower it drips down on the rest of you with the water. And you feel like someone threw lighter fluid on you and set you on fire the rest of the day. But it stops burning after a day. Although my skin had a yellow tint from the spray. Eventually it goes away.

How to identify undercover cop cars 101:
First off, lighting. If you can get a close up look for lighting at the top of the windshield, grill, under glow lights, and lights on the back window, mirrors are also a dead giveaway too.
Antennas:
Not all cop cars now a days have antennas but if there’s like 2, you got yourself an undercover cop.
Most police departments use:
Chevy Caprices
Ford Explorers
Ford Taurus (White or black, not really any other colors)
The NYPD sometimes uses Subaru’s which are IMPOSSIBLE to identify as undercover.
Ford Crown Victoria’s, very old.
Dodge Chargers that are Gray, Maroon, White it Dark Gray.

Rims:
Usually your local police departments rims, black with trapezoids near the middle with a silver circle or holes towards the outer edge of the rim.
Plates: I’m pretty sure that undercovers in CA have Exempt plates, but they may at times say “OFFICIAL” or something like that, if it’s all numbers that is usually a cop, and if you can look inside, they usually have some sort of onboard computer or tablet.
The ultimate questions is which country are willing to pass laws to sanctions US for police brutality, violation of human rights just as US did to china during HK protest...the answer is no country

°Always have your phone locked with a pin, turn off face ID and finger print because they can get into your phone that way
°Always bring water and snacks
°write phone numbers on your arm of people to call
°wear protective gear
°bring basic first aid
°review your rights (and use them too)
°be safe and smart
This is what I've learned going to protests and from friends, if anyone has anything else add please do
