    The beta feature Ecoflow released for their inverter is going to change everything for me when it works properly (can’t log in to Shelley via the app atm), all I have to do is install a Shelley switch on the DIN rail of my distribution panel and it will tell my DP exactly how much power to output via BT up to 800W. As an alternative to their relay switch option, it’s £100 compared to almost £2k.

    Can you use the DPU and Power Kit together? So you would have 2 inverters and large batteries from the DPU. So you could run the air conditioner on one inverter and other high draw appliances on another inverter

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Před 2 měsíci

      No and maybe sort of yes??
      The Rv can only except one plug in and you can’t use the DPU and PK together with a hub.
      Be better to just use a DPU all together as it is already double the power of PK

    Thanks for this great video! I'm looking into the 10K power kit for a Class B van. I' ll be running a 48v AC and wonder how long will it take to charge the system up from the alternator and one 200w solar panel if I run it down to say 20%? I saw in another video where you can hook up two lines to the alternator so you get more than 60 amps in.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I dont know anything about two alt lines working. It only comes with one true alt cable. But it can provide a max of 1000 watts but honestly I wouldn’t max it myself as i try to save some reserve. So maybe a 800 watt charge roughly per hour. The 200 watt solar panel will bring in more like 160 watts on average. But if down to 20% roughly you’re looking at over 8 hours to charge it. So more solar would help greatly.

  • @KeyJayHD
    @KeyJayHD Před 26 dny +1

    Great video!
    So I'm a long ways away from starting this project, but the plan is to get a Transit 250 and fit it with an Ecoflow Powerkit system to use for my fan cooling business. I'm sure most of the industrial fans I plan to run shouldn't tax this system, but once I'm big enough to start purchasing misting fans and maybe even misting cannons, I'm not 100% sure how well this will handle. I know for something like gas, large 50kwh+ might be the norm, however I do want to paint my business around mostly green energy as much as possible.
    I'm still getting used to power terminology but since I'd mainly be using the system for external powering and less as an off-grid small camper, any immediate red flags to consider? I know it's probably hard to tell given I don't have anything yet, nor do I know the exact power draw of the misting fans, but perhaps maybe some obvious things to consider and look for (like possibly fitting the van with an external power port so I don't have to go through the doors, how long cables might affect my power delivery for events, etc.)?
    I did initially consider the Delta Pro Ultra because of its massive storage potential, but thanks to your video, the weight does seem like a huge issue. I was going to start with that and run it out of the back of my TESLA for events, but given the size and now the weight, especially when I get a van in the future for all this stuff, doesn't seem like the best way forward.

  • @SnowIsMyTerrain
    @SnowIsMyTerrain Před 2 měsíci

    I mean the power kit better be easy for the outrageous price they're charging. Your system is $14k basically, which is obscene for what it is.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Před 2 měsíci

      If you do a named system with all named components and heated batteries and full display and more you are looking at around $8000 or so for major pieces but those dont include all your long cables which can add another $500 easy or more. Plus odd and ends, so I would say $8500-$10000 for an equal named brand kit and known battery brand. Can you do cheaper, sure. But you need to compare apples to apples there. Plus who is going to install it? A install will cost $2000 roughly or maybe more. And will you keep it when you sell the RV or van in 3-7 years like most people?
      Just things to compare.

    • @whydontyouaskme
      @whydontyouaskme Před 2 měsíci

      He’s definitely not paying $2000 for an install, that’s why he thinks it’s stupid to buy a $14000 system especially when your paying $1000 per kWh.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Před 2 měsíci

      I bet it’s closer to $4000 for a full professional install for equal smart system. Been a couple years since I called a shop for a quote. I should check again.
