      Hongthan2010 I bought a 2016 Audi A6. I'm also a former valet car driver who has driven literally thousands of different cars. I have never heard a quieter car in all my life than my new Audi A6. It's stunningly quiet. I'll be cruising along, guessing that I'm doing 55 MPH, look down at the speedometer, and realize that I'm doing 80+ MPH! I didn't realize, until having this car, just exactly how much people subconsciously judge their speed by how loud the sound is. At 80 MPH the engine is turning a paltry 2,000 RPMs which is unbelievably quiet. My Passat is doing well over 4,000 RPMs at 80 MPH. I'm about to take delivery on a set of Lloyd's Luxe Mats to go over the top of my current factory mats. Those thick, heavy mats will make the interior even quieter.

    Don't you get the A6 with the 3.0 V6 Diesel engines in the US? The perfect engines for the A6. Tons of torque and hp and quiet...

      I had a 2012 US spec 3.0 Supercharged with 8 speed and rented a 2018/2019 German Spec TDI. The TDI was nice, economical on the AutoBahn even doing a fairly steady 90-100 MPH....yes you will get passed by grandmas in Opel station wagons if you don’t. If your not passing the police by about 10-15 MPH above their speed....they consider it an insult.....weather and road conditions permitting of course..... I rented the TDI but I would be curious at how the regular 3.0T would handle both fuel eco and performance on the AutoBahn at the same speeds.....
      Luxury performance and technology wise 2012 + models are head and shoulders above the previous generation (C5). I can honestly compare since I had both 2010 and 2012.

    Good one, Roman. This car does come with a diesel option. 3.0L V-6 240 HP 428 ft.lbs. @ 1,750 rpm I think many people would like the diesel in this car, compared to the 2.0 petrol engine.

      would you say its reliable ? for first car ?

    • @audimanao
      @audimanao Před 8 lety +1

      +Luis Corona It's not the most reliable car it's my first car too it's very fast and smooth to drive but very expensive to maintain and run, the transmission went out at 100,000 miles, then the lifters and timing belt were replaced. Now it has an oil leak coming from an unknown location, the headlights will oxidize and have to be replaced or repaired. The shocks go bad around 130,000 miles. The throttle body is faulty too and will leave you stranded and costs 300 for a rebuilt one not even new. The vacuum lines have to carefully watched because they are cheap cloth. The simple maintenence is also really expensive. So I would say no its not a reliable car, it is reliable if it's extremely well maintained and not treated badly. My family has owned this car since new and even though we maintain it extremely well and have all the service don't at a an audi dealership it still has a lot of reliability problems.

    • @audimanao
      @audimanao Před 8 lety +2

      @FxRiderST Před 8 lety +18

      +Ze Germanz Well, if you live in metro NY, LA, SF, Atlanta and other areas like that, the manual will get old very soon when dealing with all the traffic. But auto which holds a gear without premature upshift (like in 'S' drive) can sometimes be fun too.

      @tempesta1229 Před 8 lety +1

      +Ze Germanz You can't even get a fucking manual Audi anymore you fool. It's a German car. American cars, Mustang, Camaro, etc, will have manuals long after Germans give up on them. Use your head.

      Storm Holloway And where did I say I was talking specifically about Audi? That's right I didn't you fucktard. I see countless guys buy top end supercars or just fast saloons with an auto then complain about hearing and power.
      I understand the like for autos, I grew up in London and sat in traffic for 3 hours a day on my commute. But I hate reviews for performance cars that complain about things that are solved by buying a manual. If you are using it as a A-B commuter then great get an auto, if you want to have fun and drive fast just get a manual.

    Buying an Audi "A" model is not a good value proposition and I would likely choose something else, to save me 10-15K. However, the "S" versions are an excellent value proposition as there are few auto companies that can compete with the tech, engine output and performance upgrades at that price point.

    • @DieselDrives
      @DieselDrives Před 9 lety

      rbassdo The TDI versions of the A6, A7, A8, Q5, and Q7 do retain value better than the gasoline versions. I know first-hand because I traded in a 2014 A6 TDI with ~32k miles and it only cost me $11k in depreciation for nearly 3 years worth of driving for the average person. Also, the BlueTec E-class has historically had better resale than the E63 AMG.

      Rafael Carpy rwd has better weight distribution, better mpg, better handling around curves. AWD is better for maximum grip in wet conditions, ie, bad weather. ALL Ferraris, most Porsches, and traditional sports cars are rwd for a reason. RWD has less power loss due to drivetrain as well, hence better with respect to putting power down on pavement.

    hey there 15/16 Audi A6 owners, do your brakes make unbearable screeching noises? mine does. it's so bad that when i pull up to a light or a stop sign, people have to shut their ears with their hands. i told my dealership and called audi about it. they basically told me to STFU and deal with it. they blame it on "high performance" semi metallic brakes. one of the guys working in the sale department told me that his audi does the same.. like that's supposed to make me feel better? i had an E class before this. the brakes were better and never made a peep.

      @theokan89 Před 9 lety +14

      Ryan Wagner no need to hate. I would just spend my 54k on a car with a platform that was engineered head-to-toe for it. Like an E-class or a 5series. You are free to purchase a FWD car for 54k. Audi is perfectly marketed for people like you that see driving as a chore.

    • @vlada1088
      @vlada1088 Před 9 lety

      Ryan Wagner RWD doesnt mean for a car to be driven as a sports car. its just that rwd cars have proper mounted engines and transmission. have perfect balance and weight distribution, or nearly perfect and drive and feel much better than any fwd car. you would absolutely feel the difference between FWD and RWD cars in the way it drives, handles, feels, etc.

    • @nerdlydood
      @nerdlydood Před 9 lety +5

      The way you tell the difference defeats the purpose of having an Audi that starts with an A and not an S or an RS. The S or RS is sporty and fun, but the A's is to be classy and comfortable, merely without totally ignoring driving dynamics, rather than emphasizing them, while being more conservative than a BMW and less pretentious than a Benz.

    • @vlada1088
      @vlada1088 Před 9 lety +1

      Ryan Wagner you can have class and comfortable and fun to drive with RWD and you do. if you notice every premium car is RWD. starting from bentley to rolls royce. 7,5,3 series from bmw, S, E, C class from merc. because thats what a proper car means. correct engine and transmutation position, proper weight distribution, right frame, no torque steer, etc. that what makes a real fun, comfy and class car. drive both, u'll see a huge difference.

    Ugly grille. TOO BIG. Not as ugly as the Lexus, but big is not better in this case.

      Also once a license plate or tag as you in the US call it, it will cover up much of the 'hole.'

      Akhil Reghu you should do some research before you talk out of your ass. I have owned 4 different European cars, and though many of them are VW sub companies, there is no comparison in the car itself. I have a 1999 A6 and even for an 18 year old car, it's performance, beauty, and smooth ride is first class. VW is not a good comparison, the only thing similar would be a Volvo, but that doesn't even line up to Audi.
