  • Aerial Footage of Woodlands Park
Woodlands is a model village 3 miles (5 km) north of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. The village falls within the Adwick Ward of Doncaster MBC. The colliery village was designed and built in the early 20th century by the architect Percy Houfton as tied cottages for the miners of the neighbouring Brodsworth Colliery. In an era of model villages such as Saltaire, Port Sunlight and Bournville, Woodlands, with extensive open spaces, many different designs of houses, and overall living conditions superb for their time, possibly represents the height of the model village movement. The village is a conservation area.
Between the village and Highfields, the former country house of Woodlands has been adapted as a social club. Nearby is the Woodlands wildlife park, with Highfields Lake (an ornamental lake on the Pick Burn) and Hanging Wood (or Highfields Wood). In Highfields Wood is a stream, known as Robin Hood's stream, which springs near the Roman Rigg, and runs into Pick Burn. The stream may be so named as Robin Hood is reputed to have roamed in Barnsdale Forest, of which Highfields Wood was part.
In "The Park" a green of 10 to 15 acres (40,000 to 61,000 m²) is surrounded by about 120 of the workers' houses. The houses back on to woodland or to green open space and, instead of facing each other across a narrow street, look across perhaps 200 yards of parkland to the houses opposite.

The wording has come from Wikipedia. I know because I wrote most of it - subject to edits over the years. Surely you should at least acknowledge Wikipedia as the source?

@@TheAirUpThere I was directed to the video from the Percy Jackson Grammar School facebook site. I don't know how CZcams works (or facebook for that matter) except when I have been directed to a video in this way (or read and post comments). I don't really know what you mean by a channel in You Tube terms. So I don't know how to find the acknowledgement you refer to. If I was watching a discrete TV programme, I would expect to find any appropriate acknowledgements in the credits to the programme (notwithstanding the fact that they scroll them far too fast!!!) I would not expect to have to go to some special place on the BBC (or ITV or whatever).

@@peterjudge9592 Hi Peter guidelines I have been given by CZcams are if a named individual provides input i.e Ian Sanderson provides the intro sequence I use they should be acknowledged in the individual video. If an organisation provides information for many videos they should be acknowledged in the channel page. e.g. czcams.com/channels/phNGpqMEGTKiLM7AhjGL3w.html as I didn't have the contributors name from wikipedia I acknowledge Wikipedia there. Having that many thanks for your contribution to wikipedia people would be all the poorer but for knowledgeable souls like you.
