- We have saved hundreds of dollars during our renovation by making our own DIY trim. Simple trim is easy to make and can be custom made to fit our needs.

You thought about it for a second, and then did what Ashley wanted. Smart man! It looks just beautiful.
All I can say is WOW! So crisp, clean, and bright. Just love it!

I have to say the douglas fir turned out beautiful as the trim. I like the clean look of that area. You both should give yourselves a pat on the back for all your hard work.take care and stay safe.

Looks spectacular Doug. I would see this kitchen look in some Hollywood home. Not kidding. But I digress, its gorgeous. Also want to say how much I see how you love Ashley deeply. Your always thinking of ways to show her you love her. That truly touches my heart. Please always keep her and the kids center focus, and I guarantee you will have a happy heart and home. Just an observation.
It's beautiful! With palm and Jerry in there and the white with the wood it has a yacht feel. I'm expecting to see the ocean outside the window... very nice.

Next project for Doug.... a proper workbench for his machines so that he can comfortably do what he does so well!. My dad does carpentry for a hobby and his garage is completely fitted to his comfort. I THINK Doug deserves it.

All the trim looks really good, but I absolutely love the toe kick. It makes the whole thing POP. The vertical corner trim is good, amazing what a little ingenuity can do. Thumbs up Doug. I wait eagerly for the next video.
That white and wood look is beautiful.. I love this kitchen very much.
If you had any floor tiles left, maybe have the artist painter do some designs and see how they look as counter hot plates. Use little cork legs glued in the underside at corners, protect your butcher block counter...

That would be great, frame a tile with some wood. I bet they have a great artist on sight to paint a tile. Miss Bell is very talented.

I like the natural wood at the bottom of the cabinets too, it does break it up but goes along with it at the same time.

You deserve to get to 100k and get that play button. I love your videos more than any others. You have such a wonderful way of teaching people how to do repairs and maintenance around the home. You both also set a fine example of how to be decent human beings. I love the way you care for your kiddos and your animals and each other. I like to encourage you to keep it up because you really are on the right path. The house is really coming along, almost done now and it looks awesome. You should be really comfortable in the future and soon your farm will be bursting with new life as you get your garden growing.

It was your attention to detail that made me and subscriber, you haven't disappointed me yet. The kitchen is gorgeous!
I love the attention to detail, you can tell when someone cares about the task at hand and it shows in the finished product. Making your own trim is great because it sets your home apart from the run of the mill. i also like that you create solutions to problems that arise, major or minor and that's a special skill. Again as always GREAT JOB!

Just for fun went back and looked at the kitchen when you moved in. Oh lord what a mess that kitchen was contrasted to how lovely it is now.
Just taking out the old cabinets made it five times better.

Doug, you are so awesome! What a craftsman. Don't have a piece of trim? Just knock it out from scraps. And Ashley's vision (width of the backsplash) was spot on. It is perfect!
Made your own trim , exactly right , save yourself extra cash , price of some trim is scandalous . Good job guys keep up the good work .

Since you don't have tile between upper and lower cabinets, it's good you put the trim, then when you wipe the counter your not wiping the wall. Looks good👍👍

All of our exterior walls are pretty thick so the windowsills are a fairly good depth :) Thanks!

Everything is looking absolutely fantastic. Hope you're all staying safe and healthy. Suggestion; if you have a large enough piece of the butcher block left, maybe that would work for the other window sill, it would match the rest of the kitchen.

You choice of white throughout has made your home look much larger than it is, light, bright, and airy, and the light wood accents really work well too, it must be so satifying to see it all coming together.
Table saw safe use video, yes, push down on top of blade it wont hurt. Someone should send this young fellow some fence feathers.
