When life is too hard, I go to this concerto with Valentina at the piano. Some people are very rude and impolite. And listening to this beauty, makes me happy again. Thank you Valentina, the conductor and the orchestra as well as the composer Addinsell.
Life is hard, nonsensical, mysterious...and sometimes beautiful. If not for artists like Valentina we'd all be dead inside.
Very well said. A great but forgotten composer who has been honoured by these wonderful people.
Stay safe. Love from Toulouse, France

There is something about Valentina that really sets her apart for the other pianists! She has a certain spirit about her that makes her more special more a regular human than a super uptight looking pianist. You can see she really enjoys the music and it almost looks like it just flows through her. Her performance is really something on its own level!!
So it is👍🏻🎼
No body can play like Valentina
As a seventy eight year old this beautiful piece brought tears to my eyes .
I'm 74. Pure emotion!!!
@@joseosmirfiorelli2527 I am 79 years old. Just love how she plays this Warsaw Concerto. Full of what we need actuallly.
Thats sweet but age is irrelevant in enjoying this beautiful piece.
Grande, grande Valentina.
After listening to most, I think this is the best version on CZcams.
Totally agree, not only the best sounding, but many other pianists look like they are wrestling with the instrument. Here, she caresses her way through even the most energetic parts.
Amàrcort
Because no major pianist gives a shit
Actually, I think this is the greatest version that I can find. I will upload a version of my own. Just for fun... no where near this nice.
I agree, dear Bob !
Orchestr with the piano..! 🔥
I feeling the Fair, so nice
muzic ! 👍💓👍
ESTA PIANISTA ES FASCINANTE, INCREÍBLE TÉCNICA, DESTREZA ÚNICA, TIENE EL SELLO Y LA PERSONALIDAD DE UN HUMANO EN UNA DIMENSIÓN SUPERIOR. INIGUALABLE VALENTINA.
It was my late wife that taught me that music is emotion transformed into sound. It probably explains why I wept when I heard this. Beautiful!
Meine Hochachtung! ❤
i wasn't allowed to play this at my absolutorium (a graduation concert) at the prague music conservatory, they said it's too "saloon-like". A few decades later, my blood still boils when I think of that. Sure, it's a laid back piece, but so beautifully composed, to this day I always turn up the radio when they play it!
Being written as a film score, the work was shunned by the word of classical music for many years. It was only put together as a single movement after the film became popular on account of it's music. It was mainly played on piers and village halls at first, until it was revived in the 60's due to the popularity of radio, sitting on the borders between classical and popular music.
In the film it was not played in it's entirety and was faded in and out to make way for the dialog. Some sections were repeated in line with the story.
What an absolutely perfect performance of this beautiful concerto. Never tire of hearing this.
De acuerdo
One of the best versions of this much loved music.
BRAVO!!! MAGNIFICA INTERPRETACIÓN!!! desde Argentina ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful playing Valentina Lisitsa. The best I have ever heard Warsaw Concerto ever played.
My dad had an old 78 rpm record of Richard Addinsell playing the Warsaw Concerto waay back in the last century, and I'd loved it ever since. Valentina Lisitsa's playing is sublime.
Thank you Valentina and thank you BBC Concert Orchestra. You are amazing and so talented.
One of the best interpretations of the Addinsell Concerto
One of the best? Haven't you hear it? One of the best... Valentina it's the GODDESSS! The only one! The one and only!!!
This is to me the most beautiful rendering of Warsaw Concerto I've ever heard. and suits the mood and content of the film perfectly.
Without a doubt the best interpretation of this piece of music ever. Valentina lisitsa place with such emotion, and does so with all her pieces. My favourite concerto of all time
This concerto fills my heart and soul with emotions. It helps me to have hope in life and to continue the path.
BRAVO !!! La Divina Valentina!!!
Excelente pianista Valentina. Gran interprete. Puro sentimiento, pura pasion. Gracias.
At the present time, I need to listen to this Concerto nearly every day. Actually, it happened to me with the concerto N°2 from S. Rachmaninoff. It is an intense pleasure to listen to Valentina and to learn the melody. This way I can sing parts of it. And it makes me happy.
Are you aware that this single movement work was written as the soundtrack for the film Dangerous Moonlight.
It was composed at short notice, only when Rachmaninoff refused to write the films score based on his second piano concerto.
Magistral interpretación de la pianista. Muchas gracias. Desde el fondo de mi corazón
This is an incredible rendition of a fantastic piece of music. I have listened to it several times over the past 24 hours. While I accep CZcams's need to advertise it is a shame that inspiring music is prefaced with such uninspiring adverts. ANYWAY. Thank you for this, I cannot tell you how much I love listening to your music.
Few people realize that Google advertising is regional, with more than 100 regions in the UK alone. Along with choosing countries and regions, advertisers specify what type of video they want their adverts attached to. The whole operation is controlled by one of the worlds most complex computer programmes and no humans are involved. It is estimated the doing the job by hand, would take more than a million staff, half of them sorting out the advertising in India. 😊
Me too Australia
One has to reluctantly accept this, but it is going beyond a boundary when music is interrupted before finishing to insert advertising. That is just beyond the pale, and utterly to be condemned.
Evem looking at it from the self-interested point of view of advertisers or of CZcams, it is very bad anyway. Listeners are going to be extremely irritated by having their listening interrupted so rudely, and won't be paying attention to the advertising anyway. More likely they are swearing under their breath or out loud, depending on the situation. This cannot work in the advertisers' favour: you are not likely to attract customers by pissing them off!
She clearly LOVES the music.....and I am so in sync with that!!
Totally agree with you, She's the best.
@@leo197777 thank you Leo
Sublime Valentina, Maestra you know indeed how to caresse heart by the Concerto
Valentina, me Emociona está interpretación, transmitis pasión, ternura y sentimientos. No me canso de ver este vídeo.

I got fan of this musical piece (which I listen to every time I need it) thanks to Valentina ❤️
Always a pleasure listening to this composition no matter who plays it! Very touching rendition. They are all good. I can listen to this all day. Makes the world a better place to live..
That was absolutely amazing! Felt so many emotions listening to this piece! Great performance Valentina! Thank you very much indeed for sharing! Greetings from Brazil!
Respectueusement.
Une admiratrice inconditionnelle.
the most moving piece of music ever written. and what a pianist .superb.
Each note is a million tears shed by the Polish people as their country and lives were decimated by the Nazi and Russian Communist onslaughts. Warsaw burned with such ferocity that pilots in aircraft more than 100 miles away could see it burning. I have shed tears at this concerto many times over the years......it pulls at my very soul. It embodies the human heart's longing for peace and freedom. It is as relevant today as it was in 1941. Freedom is under attack, now as it was then.
This peace of music aways brings me to 😢tears.it is so beautiful. I am not ashamed to say this.
Me too Stephen.....it is simply sublime.
I love her jacket
This piece pulls at my heart strings, brings me to tears and touches my soul so much, wonderful beautifully played, thank you. ❤️ From the UK
I'll play this concerto for my professional exam of piano bachelor! so exciting!
Valentina, you as always are the best, love love love
Beautifully and delicately played with a superb orchestral backing. One of the best I have heard
Bloody amazing...and beautiful...music and pianist!
Solo tu..... ogni tua interpretazione è una sorpresa. Grazie Valentina.
Rachmaninoff, is that you! Ah no! But this is absolutely an imitation work. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful piece of music- such passionate melodies and I personally love the orchestration. Bravo Valentina! A simply astounding rendition of a simply astounding piece of music!!!!!!!
The Director of the film wanted Rachmaninoff to compose the incidental music but, from the accounts I've heard, refused the commission apparently because he thought the work beneath him, so Richard Addinsell was drafted in instead.
When the film was released there were no plans to release the music on record until so many people went to their local record shop asking for "that Warsaw Concerto from Dangerous Moonlight" that it was obviously going to be a hit!
Valentina breathes new light into this piece that all too often receives just a routine performance, this is the best version of the Warsaw Concerto I have ever heard.
I agree, I think she puts a very good emotional mark on all she plays
Mantovani's orchestra's version is beautiful - I forget who the pianist was - but this is a very close second in my opinion. Real feeling in the playing to match the intent of the composition.
@@oliabid-price4517 The pianists Rawicz and Landauer recorded it with Mantovani
Que hermosa partitura, me estremece el corazon
Warsaw concerto is a magical piece of music.Far too short,l wish the magic of this piece could go on and on.
Absaloutly brilliant.
Valentina is sparkling like a glass of the very finest champagne.
What a beautiful piece of music it is.
I'm so fortunate to have missed the horrors of WWII. One would like to think that this wonderful piece of music would serve as a reminder of the horrors of war which my parents experienced.
Yes Valentina! I haven't visited you for a long time! I love this Themes from the cinema's Golden Age. Great plesure!

Warsow Concert, MAGNIFICENT.
DIVA LISITSA, MAGNIFICENT TOO!
Magnificent! So beautiful!
So majestic! So awesome! So... wonderful!
You cannot imagine that this magnificent music was originally composed as back ground score for the war-time film "Dangerous Moonlight (1941)". Now it has proven to be an immortal classic masterpiece almost comparable to Rachmaninoff's piano concertos.
Simply the best!
Love this, my Mum who couldn’t read music, would play this by ear beautifully, I think of her as I listen to this outstanding rendition.
Magnífica pianista
Não canso de ouvir!

Bravo!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️Breathtaking! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's soothing and a pleasure to drive my truck, whilst listening.
And this wonderful work would never have been born had Rachmaninoff agreed to compose the score for the film "Dangerous Moonlight".
It’s by Addinsell
@@hernanmunozratto5899 Exactly.
Rachmaninoff was commissioned to write the score for the film 'Dangerous Moonlight', broadly based on his second piano concerto.
After a lot of deliberation, he refused and Richard Addinsell scored the film at short notice.
At the time, their was no intention to use the work outside the film, but it became so popular that it was published as a single movement concerto.
For many years, being a film score, it was shunned by classical orchestras. It was only in more recent years that they have now accepted it as a classical work.
wilsjane didn’t know that. Thank you for telling me!!
@@hernanmunozratto5899 A horrible copy of the film posted on You-Tube.

Excelentes! O maestro, a orquestra e a genial Valentina! (Rio, 15/12/17).
Wonderful rendition! Valentina clearly is connected with the music! Thanks for your wonderful performance and a classic.
Fantastic. And I’m so impressed that they added a landline phone option to the Steinway & Sons Grand. I presume she would have ignored it if it had rung. Then again she probably could have answered it as well, such is her talent.
