Personally it wasn't really my cup of tea. War Thunder, while grindy, does a great job with more realistic tank combat while still making it an enjoyable gaming experience (that being, it's not just a super slow paced strategy simulator). WoT has a nice balance, more of an arcade-style shooter that is actually good for more competitive players or competitive formats, though tank balance has degraded over the years, the grind has been significantly reduced from what it once was. CW just looks kinda like a hot mess atm, much faster-paced, infinite respawns, cartoony physics and more linear tank progression that while easier to learn and understand, just makes the game overall much less challenging and more of a "Hold W, shoot, die, repeat" that I don't really like. I'll probably stick with bouncing between WT and WoT to fill my WWII tank/plane cravings, CW just feels like a shadow of what AW basically was when WG should be focusing more on improving WoT and WoWs, not this..
It is ok to have preferences. Imo WoT atm is very not fun to play competativly and casually. I play War Thunder and very often it gets too boring and annoying to play due to MM stuff. That is my experience. Project CW rn is still in alpha testing so we cannot expect it to be on same level of development as gave with over 10+ years. Right now it is the most chaotic part of its history. WG aims for Conquest - infinite respawns to be casual, Plant defuse - 1 life per round for competative. Which i find a nice baseline for future. Think of it like what season 1 of league of legends used to be. WG has problems with how WoT and WoWs works bcs of shareholders being too impactfull of how game develops. This game has a chance to be different. We will see what future will bring. I recommend you to keep a look at the game and maybe it will be something you might enjoy by the time of final release in 2025. Anyway i won't force you to like it. This is a chance for WG's second wind with tank games.And everyone deserves a second chance imo.
