I placed Google Nexus 7 tempered glass screen protector on my ax8000. it is little too small for the screen, leaving 1/8" gap all around. does anybody know tempered glass screen protector that's more close to AX8000 size?
Is the i-Data Link setup compatible with that unit like with the ax210 unit? Or is it integrated already with the head unit ? Oh yeah! And how big is the screen? I was thinking about trying to make it work in a 2020 Ford Ranger.
I have a 2018 Highlander, basically the same as a 2019, my question is, can the radio face/front sit lower? I noticed is high on your set up and sits to a point that the clock above the dash cannot be looked at clearly. I’m about to purchase the same radio. Please advise.
Did you say you were able to continue using the USB port your car came built-in with for CarPlay? If so, how were you able to do that with the part you mentioned at the end? I have a Chevy Cruze with a USB port in the arm rest my factory stereo sees, and if I get an after market stereo, I’d like to continue using the same port if possible.
By any chance would you happen to have an iPod Touch or iPod Nano you could connect to the USB port to see how that looks on there? Since you have to connect to USB for CarPlay, I might keep an iPod Touch in my car most of the instead and curious to see how using one looks when switching to USB for it.
Luis Fraga The part he uses for the USB retains the stock USB port, all that cable is, is a cable to connect the aftermarket stereo to the stock port, since you have a Chevy, i would make sure you find the comparable cable as they vary by brand. I know if you buy the stereo from Crutchfield (or at least put it in the website) it’ll tell you the parts you’ll need to retain those features for your specific car. In regards to the iPod, for CarPlay, all the computing power of it is done from the iPhone when its plugged in not the stereo. The stereo is basically just a monitor at this point, so an iPod will not be able to do CarPlay but will be able to hook as an aux input in the sony software. Does that all make sense?

This is not an IPS display. Can you still clearly see the map while driving without glaring on screen?
Is there an open space above/beneath the head unit body? If so, I can't imagine my dashboard will be dirty sooner or later.

Pretty bad, the screen isn’t very bright even at full brightness and has a sort of matte finish rather then glass finish on the ax7000
So where is your inbuilt music system,is that also touch screen

Reed Parkinson almost a 9 inch screen if I’m not mistaken ... and the radio has to support maestro .. I don’t think the ax210 is
How the screen works in bright sunlight? Does it cause any problem while using in day time?

I always try to use the maestro msw.. but when I can’t , metra aswc is my second choice

Bacil Kadi microphone is a external one .. I believe you can tap into factory mic if you want to try and get creative
