What has DFAT done to protect Australia through their activities?

Until Australia gets rid of CASG and their useless processes we will always lack current and effective military capability. I worked nearly 40 years in defence industry in the UK and Australia, 15 in Australia where I witnessed the most horrific waste of resources in the Air, Land and Sea domains, worse than the UK. Primarily caused by the DMO now CASG. For us to have an effective defence they have to go.

@@Floormassacred Thanks for asking all we need is good lawyers writing availability contracts that lock the defence companies into providing the capability to the ADF, much like we did in the UK and has been done in a small way with the RAAF. CASG has no incentive to make a decision and is highly inefficient in supporting the forces. I have seen it first-hand on many Australian programs, mostly land and sea-related.

Australia has enjoyed generations of prosperity so where is the defence capability to show for all this wealth?
Governments in this country on both sides of politics are elected and then promise all sorts of outcomes, only to do nothing while they serve out their time in office before passing the problem on to the next government who then repeat the same process. Labour sat on the submarine question when they were last in office for six years and did nothing before passing it on to the Coalition government who then lost another nine years. That is why we won't have any submarines to replace the Collins class until the 2040’s.
Words mean nothing, anyone can say words. What matters in the end is real military capability which is why China is busily arming itself today. We have been badly served by both sides of politics in this country.

My questions will revolve around the technological Network that is currently in use and hidden. It's completely ungodly and I'm ashamed that even I used it. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I guess even ASIO will tell me: "What choice did we have?" But I say we did have a choice. I will prove it. I left the Orders and now I'm going to tell it all as it is.

The world is teetering on another World War. We are in a very vulnerable position with no good standing army a weak northern border defence with foreign people able to sail here and land very successfully. If we do not help our Aboriginal People up North to guard the border to also provide stronger border forces on the coastlines we are inviting trouble. We need to steer clear of getting involved too much with Europe problems and find a safe way to travel in safer waters instead of putting our forces in harms way which we dont even have many off. Its not China to worry about the problem is a multitude of problems if War breaks out and our cities attacked we dont have help coming down here we are on our own. It stands to reason to start to increase our protection of borders our Military and increase the protection of our internet after last weeks stuff up. Otherwise we see possible serious consequences down here in Australia if we are not prepared. which we are not. Senator Wong and her cabinet need to pull there fingers out of their purses and get cracking on defence which obviously we dont have much off the stick we had is broken fix it...

Expanding our capabilities to make weapons vehicles, rockets, jets, sea vessels, etc, is where we need to be right now.
