    The stupidity of this mans comment that nuclear waste is better for the environment is mind blowing. Nuclear power is NOT RENEWABLE, building a nuclear power plant is prohibitively expensive and the only people that benefit are the plant owners. We need to invest in renewable energy that doesn't come with a cancer inducing by-product or known risk of catastrophic failure if human nature once again leads to budget cuts or just sheer laziness with maintenance. Fckn Libs selling off the future to bandaid todays problems. Again.

  • @kevinmccrohan8210

    How many nuclear plants are in production in America? Zero! And this is a country that knows how to build nuclear plants and needs them. We are not an outlier. Significantly more renewable was put in around the world than Nuclear. 1Gw of power added, mostly Russia and China. So yeah, everyone is ‘planning’ to build nuclear but rhetoric is not matching reality. Let’s just see the emperor without his clothes. You want to keep coal plants going and have no plan to build nuclear

  • @johnr2431
    @johnr2431 Před 4 dny

    If you choose to ignore the CSIRO report that renewables are quicker and cheaper to establish, then there really is not much help for the country. Clearly the American proclivity to strut around and say 'we're somebody' has taken hold of some Australians and such hubris will lead the country to make the same mistakes as the Americans.

    Just a thought on the locations of countries that have significant nuclear powered electricity generation. All of western and central Europe, all of Russia, Northern Japan, all of Canada and the USA north of Chicago are further from the equator than southern Tasmania. Furthermore there is no moderating ocean between the Arctic and any of these countries. They all have long, dark, VERY cold winters. Solar isn’t an option. Don’t take my word for it, dust off your atlases.

    Sweden a major leader in most global metrics, why are they shutting down there nuclear power plants? Will those that think nuclear is safe, bet the lives of themselves and there families that the plants will be 100% safe? Where are these fools planning to build these plants? Since we currently struggle to connect the existing renewables. Our power bills are managed just like our supermarket and fuel prices. That why they can conveniently drop just before any election.

    One of the biggest outcome needed is for the nuclear subs to come in on time and on budget. We can't even build a patrol boat on budget and no one is held accountable. These subs could well do the job of our emeries by bankrupting the country. Also if word salads were weapons this admiral would win any war.

    More Bs. They cant run the current submarines on a war footing. There is No way they will have enough crew for the new ones, let alone if we get the submarines. The government must start a competition so that the country that can supply the nuclear subs first gets the contract. The 3 bidders are the UK,USA and France. No more Maybes and in 2050 etc.
